I actually just rented it on Blu-ray. I was only lukewarm to it when it first came out, but it's become a guilty pleasure now. Apart from being so colorful that it gave me a headache, the movie is almost insulting to your intelligence. The things you don't need to know are hit so hard your dog can understand them, while the really interesting bits are barely covered. And John Goodman is underrated as an actor.

I brought a friend over recently to watch it before the Blu-ray had to go back to Blockbuster, and I found something out: the movie plays better if you're... how shall I put it... in an altered state of mind.

It's a great looking piece of you-know-what. I enjoyed the methods that the Wachowski's took towards making it a unique viewing experience, but their script is all over the place. It's bloated, often dull and genital-shrinking unfunny.
I did enjoy the actors for the most part, but the whole thing is just a complete miscalculation.

I have not watched it, and frankly, am scared to rent it.

That's like me and the "Dawn of the Dead" remake. The original is my favorite film, so watching a remake of it almost feels like blasphemy.

Robin would get his ass kicked...
I hope we all know what I'm talking about.

We get you. That's what always struck me wrong about that episode; Robin could walk away without a scratch on him.
Of course, we are talking about Kato, who has to play second fiddle to the Green Hornet. If given the right conditions, Bruce Lee would slaughter everybody - Batman, Robin, and the Green Hornet.

Finally got around to listening it (Right now!), glad you made it through Ike perfectly fine (minus fence damage, of course).
