I was having a little think about who I'd choose as my biggest influences musically from the last 5 decades, and this is what I came up with;

60's: John Lennon

70's: Stevie Wonder

80's: Morrisey

90's: Thom Yorke

00's: Thom Yorke

Lennon has to be there for being the more talented half of possibly the greatest songwriting partnership of all time.

Stevie was at his raw best in the 70's I thought. I can listen to his stuff from the 80's & early 90's, but it doesn't grip me in the way his earlier stuff does.

The Smiths/Morrisey were the best thing about the 80's PERIOD in my opinion, so Moz had to be there.

Thom get's two mentions as I really do think Radiohead are the 3rd greatest band of all time, and I actually thought his solo stuff was amazing too. I feel like he's been at a consistently high level from the early 90's, and the best artist of his generation.

Who would yours be??

mmmmmm.....probably not but she still did All For you, Damita Jo and that other one.

I heard a remix of her Rock Wit U track using Ja Rule's body instrumental, it's just a joy to the ears.
I'd rather go and watch her on tour (especially in her prime) than eat.

The whole reason I went to the university i did was because i thought she was going to tour here in 2001 but 9/11 happened so i got bummed over :(

Sinatra is my all time favoeite, but since he doesn't really correlate with any of these era, I'd say:

1960s' - The Rolling Stones

1970s' / 1980s' - Billy Joel

1990s' - Nirvana

2000's - The White Stripes
