When you go to a party, is there a song that always sets the room off into a fat karaoke session? No matter the different walks of life these people come from, they all know these certain songs. One I've definitely noticed is "Too Close" by Next.
"California Love" by Tupac obviously living here. At every party I go to, it eventually gets played and everyone knows it. But that go me thinking what people in other states all sing along to at their parties.

Maybe not in parties...but clearly the best bar song of all time is "Ive Got Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks
Any really well known cheesy 80's hard rock will work...Bon Jovi or whatever. And for some reason, really over the top stupid songs, like "Baby Got Back".

The one song I hate the most ,and I dout you can guess where I am from when you hear the song name.
Sweet Home Alabama
(I Hate the song)
Silverstein

None of my friends can sing. Not me, not them...even the ones who think they can...can't really. So you have this thing where we all might start singing, but we stop because everyone has stupid expressions on their face.
Maybe that's the cynical way of looking at it....O_o

So what's the "California Love" of other states? What's the young peoples state or even city anthem where you live?

New York and California don't even count. There's like 204857423509845105827415 anthems.

Getting this thread back on topic, I've noticed that "Tricky" by Run D.M.C. works more often than not.

Kanye is the only one that does Chicago anthems. Homecoming with Chris Martin guest starring and dancing horribly in the video springs to mind.

lol I applaud your knowledge of my people.
90% of my friends are Asian, mostly Filipino and/or Chinese (one of them is both). I've been to parties where those songs have played. I was shocked the first time I saw a mass of people of all ages do the "Otso Otso." That many people bending over and pumping their backs... it ain't right.
