I think I might be attending the 2nd date of the Personal Fest (a music festival sponsored by a telephone company here), on November 1st.. main artist is R.E.M. and I really really really would like to see them. This year I got to see another long time favorite band, The Cult, and I wanna keep accomplishing(sp?) these little things (see whatever band live)

I saw them at the wachovia center. they do still have it, but being there with my parents (who bought the tickets) and being in the very very very back row hampered my experience. that and the opening band and all their new stuff.

it only beats modest mouse because it rained like hell and was freezing at their outdoor concert and of course us philly douche bags have to mosh to everything.

I might be seeing Tna Turner for my birthday (I saw her in 2000, she was amazing.)

I had free tickets to see Duncan Sheik tonight, I helped promote the show, but I started a new job and couldn't go. :( Now everyone is saying this is his best tour and he's touring with a cast member from "Spring Awakening". Damn my cursed luck!

THE EAGLES!!!

I had surgery the 6th, and I'm supposed to be off my feet for 2 weeks, but when the chance to work for the Eagles comes up, i don't think it's something you can pass up.

just hearing them play Hotel California live may be worth the agony i'm sure i will endure the following day

Saw Metallica last night, with The Sword and Machine Head. I didn't care much for The Sword, but Machine Head weren't bad.

Metallica were awesome, of course. They played six songs from the new album, and a lot of old stuff (Creeping Death, Whiplash, Ride the Lightning, Last Caress). They sounded really tight. I was actually a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed the show.

Next, I'll be seeing Les Claypool and Saul Williams at the Electric Factory in Philly on March 27th.

Also when Nine Inch Nails annouce UK tour dates this year i'm definatly gonna get a ticket, other wise i'll proberly be going to some local small gigs often.

Giving this a bump. Finally saw The Offspring this past Saturday (I say FINALLY because I've been listening to them since 4th grade) Anyway, the show was pretty good over all, but it was pretty obvious that Dexter Holland's (their lead singer) voice was strained after a lengthy tour. This was their last gig before taking it overseas later this year. A few pics for ****s and giggles:

I forgot about this thread! I've been to three shows in the last two months, my 25th, 26th, and 27th concerts (if I'm counting right).

The first was Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band at the Izod Center back in May, for the last night of the American leg of their Working On A Dream tour. I posted my thoughts in the Springsteen thread, so I won't go into too much detail, except that Bruce and the ESB, after 35 years, still put on the best show money can buy, doing 26 songs, including three requests from the audience ("The E Street Shuffle," "Cover Me," "Thunder Road"), and playing for a solid three hours, twice as long as most rock acts.

The second was Aerosmith with ZZ Top opening at Jones Beach. This was one of the worst I've been to. The show was delayed for an hour and a half due to rain. ZZ Top came on, and they put on a great show. Since they were an opening act, they did most of their hits ("Sharp Dressed Man," "Legs," etc.), and got the crowd up and running after the delay.

Aerosmith did not come on until 10:45, and they only payed for 75 minutes. They did a few of their hits ("Dream On," "Walk This Way,") and a bunch of songs no one knew. Tyler's voice was (is) shot, half the band was missing, Perry's playing has become very sloppy, and the show in general was terrible. Looking at reviews at other shows on their fan sites, this was not just a bad night. It's been like this throughout the tour (they had to postpone five shows after this concert), and has been for the last several years. Aerosmith need to retire because they've become an absolute joke.

My most recent was Paul McCartney Tuesday night at CitiField. I don't think it needs to be stated that it was the absolute greatest show I've ever been to. Epic doesn't even begin to describe it. 33 songs, two and a half hours, great crowd, loads of Beatles songs. It was an immensely satisfying show.

Usually I go to a lot of concerts during the summer, but this year, not so much. Saw Nine Inch Nails June 5th in Camden, NJ. Great concert. Just saw them again on Saturday at the Bowery Ballroom in NY. I was fortunate enough to meet the band on both occasions. The Bowery show was my 6th Nails concert and will probably be my last for a while, since this is their "farewell tour."

Saw Depeche Mode in July and it was a pretty good show. Tomorrow I'm seeing Caspian, Arms and Sleepers, and The American Dollar at Webster Hall. Should be fun.

Here's a few videos I've taken:

NIN - Dead Souls (Soundcheck) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koojJ0x5JAM)
NIN - Meet Your Master (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjaWeDUZctk)
Depeche Mode - In Your Room (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziun6B_FH-c)
