My top 2 are "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce & "Chopped & Screwed" by T-Pain. The former makes me want to "put a ring on" her eye. As for the latter, I hate enything T-Pain puts out, but this is just painful.

I just recently started listening to the radio again for the first time since like 1998 or so.

I agree about these songs.

Though I can stand quite a bit of T-Pains other songs. It's mainly Ludacris that I want to assault.

More or less ANYTHING by Nickleback. Why has nobody set these guys on fire yet? And filmed it. And put it on Youtube... And given a medal of some sort.

I find the new Nickelback song more tolerable than their other stuff... at least this one isn't trying so hard to be catchy, it's just happy to be mundane.

Live Your Life- Rhianna & TI song(terrible)

Anything by Nickleback (their music is an abomination against humanity)

Britney Spears music (she can't sing. If it wasn't all the media storm around her and some talented music producers/songwriters behind her she would of faded into obscurity years ago.

All Summer Long -Kid Rock (I liked it when kid rock stayed on the other side of the atlantic and was known over here as that guy who dated Pamela Anderson.

Anything by Oasis in the last 12 years (who knew ripping off the beatles could create such a long lasting career)

anything by Basshunter (pure Eurotrash)

How could I forget Basshunter! If i end up in hell (or when! :cwink: ) his music would be on constant loop. I remember i was in the pub a few weeks ago and this ****ing bird kept putting it on the jukebox. I hate Rhianna, too.
I can also do without all this damn Christmas music we're being bombarded with, for a number of reasons:
Songs about Santa, reindeer & sledding annoy me when I'm fighting brutal cold, slick roads & impeding snow.
We are in the middle of one of the worst economic crises in history, & still we're hearing messages encouraging us to spend, spend spend?
The commerciality (?) of it is just plain stupid. Why did the Jackson Five record a Christmas album? They're Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't believe in Christmas. What kind of douchebag forces children to violate their religion so he can make a buck?
Many of the songs are just sick. Santa Claus is portrayed as a pagan god who is all-seeing, all-knowing & rewards those who live their lives in a manner that pleases him. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer is a story about a freakishly disfigured mutant who was shunned & mocked until they found a pratical use for his mutation. So after being subjected to a lifetime of intolerance, they make the leap from ostracism to exploitation.
And they wonder why kids have issues.

The 2 songs that when I hear I immediately change channel are The Killer's "Are We Human Or Are We Dancer" and King of Leon's "Sex On Fire". I usually listen to KROQ and Star 98.7 (after they ditched adult contempary for modern rock), and sometimes both of these stations play these two songs at the same time. That's when I'd switch to 710 KSPN or some other stations.

I'm finding it hard to think of songs in rotation that I like.

I feel that way most of the time. I think back to when I was a teenager & my parents (mostly my dad) seemed so closed-minded about the music I was listening to. My Pop just could not let me enjoy listening to anything without criticizing the hell out of it, telling me I was born 20 years too late and/or throwing the time he took me to see the original Temptations in my face. (Yes, I'm that old.) And I vowed that I would never become like him-just refusing to embrace new sounds. But if I listen to the radio for more than 20 minutes without wanting to change the station or pop in a CD it'll be a record.

I used to love "So What", but I listened to it too much. I really HATE "All Summer Long." hated it from the first time I heard it. I didn't like the original, and I just instantly hated his crappy lazy remake. Would rather listen to werewolfs of london.

I guess if that's the image she really wants to portray more power to her if it's the image she herself cultivated. The music biz is especially rough on female performers. Guys have it so much more easy a time in certain genres, like Metal. But if you're a female and you don't fit into "the mold" than screw you even if you have more talent than the popular artists on the radio.

I hate that song too. I'm with you, it seems that mainstream music is geared towards losers now, it all seems to be about revenge and greed. No one can make an honest ballad about how someone makes you feel, it's all single mamas, pimps, and lowlifes. It's this stupid culture thats going on, that makes it acceptable for a no talent hack like Jarule speak on a song being sung by someone with talent. I'll never fully get over how talentless bucketheads like Jarule and Akon can get a record deal while real people with talent are struggling to find a niche.

The problem is, they're making what I consider "commercial music"; i.e., music that's created to make sales & not much else. We get stupid little catch phrases, easily memorized yet totally uninspired lyrics, often mediocre (at best) vocals & recycled beats. Unfortunately, their key demographic-and the majority of the record-buying/song-downloading public-is teenagers, who by & large aren't all that discerning. (Some of you under 21 may take offense to this, but I've got a 15-year-old at home who sees to it that I wake up to the nauseating sounds of Tek-Nine every. Effing. Morning! I will be so glad when school lets out so he can sleep in for those 2 weeks!) So real music is released few & far between & gets relatively little airplay. Real music, btw, is what I define as inspired, original creations, regardless of genre, that is intended to make an impact. Unlike commercial music, it does not put style before substance & isn't homogenized, like a lot of the R & B/rap of today. I can promise you that 10 years from now, nobody will be talking about the majority of what's on the radio right now-barring a 30-to 45-second blurb on some stupid VH1 show that's making fun of it.

Tek nine? Awe Hell naawz! Every morning I would have made him get me a stick off the tree for playing that mess! I sound like my father but he didn't hate half the music I listened to when I was a teen. I grew up when rap and R&B had a clear distinction, and anyone sounding like Lil' Wayne would have been booed into obscurity. I wonder what is it with these teens today that buy into all this commercial crap? I see that the trend for youngsters today is to make beats, who needs talent? Teenagers today need a kick in the butt and music lessons.

Wow, there is so much wisdom in this post it's awe inspiring. ( No bull, I'm not being sarcastic)

I'll bust the windows out your car.

Do it, and see if your ass don't end up on Nancy Grace as missing.

I actually like the song, but I wish somebody would come out with a man's response.

I put your crazy @$$ in jail
Hope you don't think I'm gonna pay your bail
When I saw my car I was so pissed
What made you think you'd get away with this
I put your crazy @$$ in jail
You did all this over a piece of tail

That's all I got so far.

My top 2 are "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce & "Chopped & Screwed" by T-Pain. The former makes me want to "put a ring on" her eye. As for the latter, I hate enything T-Pain puts out, but this is just painful.I actually heard that song for the first time today, I thought the song was skipping at first.

Not to mention the fact that "Chopped & Screwed" sounds like something a serial killer would do.

Ironically, I love pop music, but I stay away from Top 40 pop stations like the plague.

9 times out of 10 it's garbage, so what I do is wait. Give the current season of songs some time to pass, and see what trickles down and sticks. The good stuff tends to linger around longer and finds its way into the blogosphere well after its initial mainstream popularity. That way, if I want to listen to what's going on in the modern pop scene, I can filter through the Flo Rida-esque nonsense and find the gems.

Diva.I can just imagine a WWE Diva coming to the ring to that song.

Most of Beyonce's songs are what I call "trailer music", like if you take away the singing it'd sound like something you'd hear in the background of a trailer for a romantic comedy.

I actually feel Pink's one of the few pop singers not getting her due. She's one of the few out there that could actually carry a damn tune, and more often than not has something meaningful to say, outside of "Oh, I love my man", or "My man cheated on me, so I'ma get some get-back!" or "Me and my girls are partying tonight, WHOO-HOO!!" She's got this whole self-effacing charm about her that a lot of these major pop heffers lack.

"Deuces" by Chris Brown. I can't believe that song is even a hit. The song is a big F-You to his ex-girlfriend. For those of you who may not remember, Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend is Rihanna. They broke up when it became public knowledge that he was mercilessly beating her. There's even a line in the song that makes an Ike Turner comparison, implying that Ike was the victim of Tina's violence by citing the one time Tina fought back.

It's amazing, really. This a-hole beat his girlfriend, and tried desperately to salvage his career by appearing on Larry King in a powder blue sweater and a bowtie :whatever: , followed by numerous public appearances with him wearing a pair of thick-rimmed glasses that nobody had ever seen him wear before for the sake of appearing innocent and harmless. Oh, and then he tried to sing "Man in the Mirror" as a tribute to Michael Jackson, then ended up crying on stage within the first two lines of the song. He spent a full year trying desperately to get people to feel sorry for him, and then he released a song where he calls Rihanna a vulture and flips her the finger. And then the radio-listening public ate it up.

My god, I hate Chris Brown.

I wish someone could tell me what the Hell she was saying in that song. The one from the DJ Hero 2 commercials? I want to kick that song in the shins. I have a homeless uncle, my Mom brought him home for Thanksgiving, he ended up staying an extra week. Among his many annoying habits, he'd fight with his girlfriend on the phone all night and his phone, then he'd decide to ignore her. She'd call. Over and over. I don't know how he got a ringtone, since he needs footstamps to eat, but that was his ringtone.

20 times in a row. Every morning. "Roo Kangaroo Boy can you come and lick it up" or "Poop poop on the roof boy boy can you pick it up" Ahhhgkh. I hate Rihanna's face too.

Yeah, it's "get it up."

Truth is, I don't even like Rihanna. Her voice is kind of annoying, especially when she tries to do what I'm sure she considers "belting" out a long note.

However, she's not a dude who beats up his girlfriend and then makes mean spirited songs about how it was the girlfriend's fault.
