Okay, for example, let's take "Scar Tissue" by the Chili Peppers. I always hated that song--it annoyed me, and was ALWAYS on the radio. And as such, my buddy Turd "The Hammer" Ferguson decided that whenever I was nearby, he'd sing the hell out of it, prompting me to punch him in the arm in such a way that I would hit his nerve and his arm would go numb for a bit. Time passed, and we grew apart, and I moved to Ohio. I heard the song the other day, and kinda liked it, because I remembered the fun I had with my friend.

Anyone else?

This happens to me with The killers quite a bit. Seems like everytime they bring out a new album, i hate the singles that accompany it. I whine and complain. I stop terrified looking strangers in the street and say "Hey, dont you hate that new Killers song!?" but sure enough, whether it takes days, weeks or months i know that it'll end up in the "Guilty Pleasures" playlist of my iPod.

That was my reaction to Hot Fuss and Sam's Town. Love those albums.

I never cared for Bohemian Rhapsody. I thought it sucked. That was until I saw Wayne's World. The song made a kinda weird sense then.

ALot of people don't like Bohemian Rhapsody... but I just like Queen. Yeah, Some of their songs are way overrated and overused but the world is a darker place without Freddie Mercury in it.

Nickelback. :( It's kind of an auditory saturation living up here, where they're from. Also, I saw them in concert with Staind and Three Days Grace and it was fantastic, so they're more tolerable to me than to a lot of people.

Rihanna. Ugh, I hate her music so much. After I hear her songs a few times, I still hate them. But I start to love them at the same time. I don't understand it... :cmad:

Same, my favorite band is Metallica, but I love Ella Fitzgerald and prince and Elvis(both), Elton john, Old School Jackson 5 and Old school MJ. I LOVE anything with good instrumental pieces in it. Basically anything involving a piano.

Nope, sorry. I'm not into metal, period. I've heard a couple songs that I like (including some Metallica), but overall I dislike the music genre. Spoons is starting to get really into it so I still have to listen to it plenty :csad:

I like very few metal bands. Metallica and Iron Maiden being my top 2. Anything that's described as metal today is most likely garbage.

I love a good guitar solo though :P

Metal = Awesome. :up:

I hated "Crazy B****" by Buckcherry, then I kind of liked it, now I absolutely hate it more than I did before. I really hated a lot of songs by Death Cab for Cutie and Muse, but now I love them both.

Oh, and the only Nickelback song I've ever found myself liking (and singing along to everytime it does come on the radio) is "Someday". I hate Nickelback, and I hate everything else by them, but I really like that song.

That song has way too much college-bar sentimental value for me to hate it.

I used to despise "funky house". But then I went to a rave, got bang on the disco biscuits and the rest is history.

I hated "Low" when it first came out, but after hearing it a few times at parties and seeing that it got people moving, I grew tolerant enough of it to the point where I can stomach it in that context.

For me, it's Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. I wasn't into grunge when I was in high school, because it seemed half the school thought grunge was the best stuff ever, and the other half thought gangsta rap was the best. I never hated them, I just wasn't going to listen to something because everyone else was.

Then the fads went to other things. In college, I decided to see what the big deal was about. I'm still not sold on Nirvana or Pearl Jam, but AiC and Soundgarden made some good stuff so I've warmed up to them.

Why would someone called "Turd Ferguson" need another nickname?
And how can you hate Scar Tissue?

I wasn't particularly fond of "The Party" by Justice, but it grew on me after a while. Also I would have to include any contemporary generic hip hop songs that I can't name off the top of my head. "Day of the Baphomets" by The Mars Volta would fit in there as well; wasn't quite ready for the bongo solo.

I depised Alanis Morissette when she first hit big with her angry folk rock. Now I think she is the best thing since sliced bread.

And Macy Gray, while not on par with Alanis, also grew on me. She has a ghetto charm.

Lots of songs that Danny Elfman makes, like in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and, "The Nightmare Before Christmas." I never hated them necessarily, but lately my appreciation for them has grown tremendously to the point where I listen to them online regularly.

Along that vein, that new "Nightmare" album where artists would cover songs from the movie...I hated a LOT of them at first only to come to love them. Particularly the acoustic guitar version of Oogie Boogie's Song.

All Summer Long? That song is garbage. Listen to Werewolves of London instead. Or Sweet Home Alabama. Either one is better.

I tend to hate most popular songs when they first come out but then end up liking them later. It use to happen to me with rap quite often.

Whenever I first hear the song I'm thinking it's Werewolves but when I realize it's not I get pissed and switch radio stations. I refuse to listen to it. He's just recycling two good songs for this generation.
