I know, I know, even bkhedr didn't mind it, but I did. First of all, it was obviously bkhedr's intent to kill Speedball. That's what he wanted to do, and since the GM's didn't mind it, he should have been able to do it.

The thing that irks me is...if someone, down the line, wanted to play Speedball, let them reveal he didn't really die. With a statement like "Not that I'm going to pick him up or anything", I feel that it's just not your place to make that decision. I kind of felt the same thing with my own post where Magneto killed Avalanche. I worked a lot on that post, finding a mutant no one had ever played, even NPC'ed, so I could finally have Magneto be badass, something I had been building up to. I even got some praise, and I felt really proud, but then you asked me to make it so that Avalanche didn't really die, even though he quite clearly got RIPPED IN HALF. And again, not because you were going to pick him up, but just because.

So, again, if you're not even interested in picking up the character that's been killed, I don't feel that you have the right to ask for a complete retcon of what someone else wrote.

I don't know either, I was just reading it from the Marvel site article for Thor (Thor Odinson) and I loved the history I read minus that it appeared that he was in like 3 different people's bodies at 3 different times and I thought "Wtf?".

I plan to do more reading, of course, because I want to pick up the current title. But I'm the kind of reader who has to like know everything as much as I possibly can before I pick up a new title. The guys crack jokes about me being an Aquaman fan, and a huge one at that. But that has been over a span of, hmm...a year and a half maybe? And already I like him and his mythos more than Batman and I've been a Batfan since childhood.

I, honestly, did not even think of this, and you're quite correct. The way I did it was out of line. However, I do think someone is unlikely to want to pick up Speedball if they have to go through the trouble of resurrecting him.

To be honest, I don't think you need to rip people in half to be badass and I honestly didn't want to rob you of that feeling. I also don't really think it affects your post much to have him be alive. As it is, like with Speedball, Avalanche is a decent character, a good C-lister that's good to NPC.

I'd like to see this RPG take something from the comics, in that good kills are those that have some build-up. As it is, Avalanche was cannon fodder. After several seasons of this, I'd like to move on from this and make deaths a rarity again.

I don't think anyone's ever picked up Thunderbird III (Neal Shaara) either, but does that mean he should be fair game? I'd just like people to exercise a little caution. If you feel a death is necessary, by all means, do it and keep it.

So, again, if you're not even interested in picking up the character that's been killed, I don't feel that you have the right to ask for a complete retcon of what someone else wrote.
For the record, Sabes didn't actually check for a pulse. Besides that, honestly, Speedball's powers should've protected him pretty well. But that's just semantics.

I apologise for doing what I did. I should've left it for a Speedball-player to do.

As it stands, I'd like people to use a little discretion and really wonder if death is a necessity. And yes, I know we're in a bounty storyline right now.

I can understand where Harl is coming from, partially because a rule from the very beginning was not to kill NPCs just to kill NPCs without good reason. And to "show one's badassery" is not a good reason. Not saying the "rule" is my main reason for seeing where he is coming from, but I personally don't like NPC or PC deaths; even with build-up. Sometimes, they're just for "shock value".

I mean, we as fans hate it when DC and Marvel kill of a character that "didn't have a LARGE fanbase" but why does everyone that is "important" have to be as big as Batman or Spider-Man? Not like it was some character from like the Silver Age that he decided to bring in that hasn't been touched in 30-40 years.

So while Harl could've handled it better, I still see his side more strongly than the other. I'm not a fan of named NPCs/PCs being killed often. That was my beef with DA even though it was the DA.

I think any 'good reason' should be left up to the view of the player committing it, first and foremost. At the same time, I don't think Harl is out of line in thinking we should exercise a bit more caution and be a little bit more careful.

It's unrealistic to think that no hero or villain should be killed at any time for any reason because, let's face it, we're dealing with the world of warring superheroes and supervillains. Casualities have always been a big part of character development, and in a game like this, development is perhaps the most important part of taking on the responsibility of a character. So yes, I do believe making an issue out of that is extreme, as... people, lots of people, die in comic books.

THAT SAID, we also have the side of the fence that is filled with alot of new and exciting minds that may one day stumble upon these games, looking to take up characters many of us don't know of. I've seen plenty of times where someone comes in with an app and I have to go "...huh? who?". And the prospect of seeing that character be introduced in an RPG excites me, because RPG's introduced me to a larger world of an already rich continuity I knew of beforehand. I'm even a little embarassed to admit this, but before Electro UK took up Deadpool, I had absolutely no idea who that was. But I grew to love the character after reading those posts.

I dunno. I guess I'm mixed on the subject. I think Harl's right in that we should be careful when we decide to enact a character's death, but I don't think we should jump up and go "HEY! Edit that!" everytime someone does. Which Harl admitted might have been a mistake, so obviously, we're left with very little to argue about now.

I hear you there. This has been one of my favorite fights in these games. It ranks right at the top with the Human Torch/Electro fights and the Sentinel invasion from Season 2. And I laughed out loud with that last Bullseye post. I'm looking forward to a classic rivalry.

Nick Fury will be along soon to collect Hawkeye. I don't know if Deadpool and Bullseye wanna be long gone or if hilariouty and brutality will ensue on the Hellicarrier.

It seems that Harley has a knack for ignoring IC continuity in almost every game she plays. Hello friends. Its a slow day, I'm a little bored and should be revising for important exams tomorrow. But instead, I'm reading past RPG posts. Which gave me the idea to start a little series reflecting some of my favorite past Deadpool moments. Today, a bring you a selection from the middle of Season 4.

Wade stood outside Castle Doom, two piles a cut up metal beside him, Doom’s guards. “Hello? Vic? Anyone home? Uh my name’s Deadpool, I believe we have a history together. You kinda were the reason I was in a coma for a long time. I fought that made you my arch enemy. So could we duke it out? Afterwards maybe we can catch some lunch? Yes? No? Maybe? Hello?”




“Leave me. Doom has no time for maniacs in costumes.”

“Hey who you calling maniac ya big bath tub?”

“Leave now or feel the full might of Doom.”

“I’ll take option C. Kick your ass all over Latveria cause I’m bored as hell.”

"Help! Help!" came a cry from behind the trees.

"Deadpool sense tingeling! Some inoccents need my attention!" Wade ran to the call, to see a girl crying, pointing out to the pond, where a young boy splashing around, crying for help.

"You gotta help him Mr!" the girl said.

Wade looked at the situation. After a few moments, he came to a brilliant conclusion. "Relax, he's faking it."

"No no! He went out for a swim an--"

"I. Said. He's. Faking. It." Wade said glaring down at the girl.

They stood in silence as the boy paniced and kicked. "Just keep squirming! We know you're only doing it for attention." they looked on until the boy disappeared under the water. "Alright maybe not..." Wade said, looking slightly more confused. "Um... is that the time?" he said, checking his arm, even though no watch could be seen.

"But what should I do?" the girl said as Wade turned to leave

"What if it floats out to shore? I dunno, poke it back out with a stick, hope someone else comes across it later." Deadpool quickly walked off out of the park.




He turned and entered the X-jet. "So long suckers!" sitting down at the front seat, he fiddeled with a few buttons until the screen flickered on.

"Identity please."

"Uhm... Cyclops?"

"Warning, Warning-- Wade Wilson detected, activating security measures."

"Oh you gotta be kidding me!"

In all honesty, up until recently, I was in the same boat as you. I didn't really know much about Thor and his world, and cared little about learning more. But when this RPG started, I pick up some recent issues of several of the most popular Marvel titles, Thor included. And it totally blew me away. I've since backtracked to get the rest of the current volume, and have been converted into a big Thor fan. I'd definitely recommend checking out JMS' work on Thor.

In all honesty, when I saw your app, I wasn't sure if you were just vicariously playing Daredevil with some kind of doppelganger. I've been thoroughly impressed with the development of your arc, including your introduction and characterization of the supporting characters. I find myself to be quite lucky in that I get to participate in this storyline. While I might have had a few, select reservations at the beginning, I'm genuinely excited for the fight that's about to take place. That said, I've pulled down on the over-shoulder restraints, made sure all my lose articles are securely stowed in the containers below my seat, and I'll be keeping my hands, feet, and head inside the ride at all times.

Extreme apologies to Keyser because it was because of something we briefly discussed that made me pick him up...and I've never done this before (pick someone up and then drop when I've only done a post and a crappy post at that) so it sucks that much more...but I gotta drop Black Tarantula.

I love them street level heroes, but I'm just not a big enough Marvel Zombie. I'm the dude who got bit, but they found the cure for so he never turns into one. Love people like DD, which is why I thought I'd stick with BT...but there just is no motivation.

Also, noticed the roster thing and that is cool. I can use the "lack of things on my list to-do" a lot since my time is scarce it seems.
