I was never good at putting stuff like this in order:
Lagwagon - "Trashed"
~ Greatest Lagwagon record in my opinion. Give it back, Island of shame, rust, going south... I love this band.
NoFX - "The Decline"
~ I am torn between this and Punk In Drublic, but the Decline is one 17 minute long song, and its awesome. Bonus points if you know all the words.
Black Flag - "Damaged"
~Classic punk.
Descendents - "Milo Goes To College"
~I'm not a loser, Marriage, Kabuki Girl. Pure, awesome, punk.
Cursive - "The Ugly Organ"
~ If you have never listened to this whole Record from begining to end, you are missing out so bad.
The Mars Volta - "Francis the Mute"
~ Same with this beast. First get the Francis the Mute single, then the whole album, then listen to this whole entire thing begining to end (yes including the ambient noises). Amazing.
Various Artists - "Short Music For Short People"
~Best Compilation Ever. 101 punk bands playing 30 second songs. From Anti-Flag to Blink 182 to No Use For A Name to Green Day to the Circle Jerks. Also, the first punk CD I ever bought. I have worn this out listening to it.
Against Me! - "Reinventing Axl Rose"
~ Yeah, everyone knows New Wave, everyone knows Stop, and Thrash Unreal... but what about Pints of Guiness Makes you Strong, or Baby I'm an Anarchist?
Rise Against - "The Unraveling"
~ I will say it, I liked this band when they first came out, i hate them now. Every record since the Unraveling has been a step in the wrong direction. Revolutions Per Minute was good, Siren Songs was Meh, Suffering was Garbage, and Appeal to Reason is... Words can't describe how much i hate this record. Anywho, The Unraveling.
Strung Out - "The Element Of Sonic Defiance"
~ A short EP. I love all 8 songs on this. I also love Twisted By Design, but this is the bees knees
The Misfits - "Walk Among Us"
~ If you listen to punk, but you dont listen to the misfits (with Danzig) then you are an idiot. Die Die My Darling, Astro Zombies. Listen and love it.
Damn, thats 11.

Somewhere in time? really? YOu rate this above powerslave ._.??
Like I said, it was tough for me. Powerslave is an amazing album don't get me wrong. I absolutely love it. It's one of Maiden's classics. I'm always a sucker for the progressive sounding stuff and Somewhere In Time was Maiden at their best with the experimentation of keyboards and etc.
But don't get me wrong, I will always love Powerslave. I can listen to Powerslave all the way through without skipping a track.

I'm not going to be able to pick my top ten favorite albums, I can't even pick my top ten favorite bands, I had trouble getting it down to twelve. I'm going to list my twelve favorite bands in the order I feel about them now, which is always subject to change, then list the albums of theirs that I've listened to in order.
1. Opeth, this is one that'll never change, they are without a doubt my favorite band.
1. My Arms, Your Hearse, the first albums I bought from them.
2. Orchid
3. Blackwater Park
4. Still Life
5. Morningrise
6. Watershed
7. Ghost Reveries
2. Cradle of Filth
1. Cruelty and The Beast, I have to thank Last Sunrise for getting me to listen to this, it really is their masterpiece
2. Midian
3. Damnation and a Day
4. Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder
5. Nymphetamine
6. Thornography
3. Dimmu Borgir
1. Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, the albums that has the best balance between the two singers I think, the songs benefit a lot because of it.
2. Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
3. In Sorte Diaboli
4. Spiritual Black Dimensions
4. Amon Amarth
1. With Oden on our Side
2. Twilight of the Thunder God
3. Versus the World
5. Nevermore
1. Dead Heart in a Dead World, the album that got me into this band.
2. Enemies of Reality
3. The Godless Endeavor
6. Nine Inch Nails
1. The Fragile, I know most would pick The Downward Spiral but there are just more songs on this album that I like
2. The Downward Spiral
3. Pretty Hate Machine
7. Behemoth
1. Demigod, has the first song that I ever listened to by them, Conquer All
2. The Apostasy
3. Thelema 6
4. Zos Kia Cultus
8. Tool
1. Lateralus, the last three songs ( not counting Faaip De Oiad) on this album are excellent when played together.
2. Aenima
3. 10,000 Days
4. Undertow
9. Stormlord
1. Mare Nostrum, their self titled song is a favorite of mine.
2. At the Gates if Utopia
3. The Gorgon Cult
10. Type O Negative
1. Life is Killing Me, this album has a great balance of serious and fun songs.
2. October Rust
3. Dead Again
4. World Coming Down
11. Lamb of God
1. As The Palaces Burn, the next album on the list would probably be number 1 if the lead singer was as good as he was on their later albums
2. New American Gospel
3. Ashes of the Wake
4. Sacrement
12. A Perfect Circle
1. Mer de Noms
2. The 13th Step

Round 2:
Thrice - The Illusion Of Safety
~ Best Album Ever. From start to finish awesomness. Deadbolt, Kill Me Quickly, Red Death, So Strange I Remember You. This is the album that made me fall in love with Thrice.
Black Keys - Attack & Release
~ It may be pretty new, but its awesome. All the Black Keys albums arre awesome, but this one is special. All You Ever Wanted, Psychotic Girl, Same Old Thing, and even the radio hit Strange Times.
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
~ Yeah Yeah, Leviathan is good too, I just like this one better. The Wolf Is Loose, Colony Of Birchmen, Sleeping Giant. How can you argue with an album about a man trying to place a crystal skull atop Blood Mountain?
Evergreen Terrace - Burned Alive By Time
~ No Donnie, These Men Are Nihilists. Any album with a song named after a Big Labowski quote is OK in my book. Plus the music is good.
Most Precious Blood - Our Lady Of Annihilation
~ I have never met another fan of Most Precious Blood. I hated One King Down (The singers old band) and I hated Indecison (everybody else in the bands old band) But put them together and you get the best hardcore band ever. Hopefully they tour when their new album comes out.
Thursday - War All The Time
~"aw man full colapse is better idiot." No its not. Steps Ascending, For the workforce drowning, Division St. I rest my case
Bad Astronaut - Houston: We Have A Drinking Problem
~ Best side project band ever. These Days, Break Your Frame, Single, The Passanger.
Nirvana - In Utero
~ Yes, I love Nirvana. Yes, I think Nevermind is garbage. Actually, it would be awesome if it wasn't raped by the radio. Bleach is good too. But i like this one bestest. Sue me. Very Ape, milk It, Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.
Denali - The Instinct
~ I found Denali by accident. Awesome Band Maura Davis has the singing voice of an angel. Normal Days, Real heat, Hold Your Breath.
The Germs - GI
~ Punk Rock for Punk Rockers. The L.A. scene at its finest. fast and dirty. Land of Treason, Lexicon Devil, Communist Eyes.

My criteria was based on how much of the album I liked, which was most of Bark at the Moon, as opposed to 3 songs from Blizzard of Ozz (Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley and Goodbye to Romance). I haven't picked up Black Rain yet, so I can't comment there.

I was actually heavily debating whether I should put OKC or Kid A on my list because I like them both equally but didn't want two albums from the same band on it. In the end I decided on Kid A because I listen to it more frequently then OKC now, but really either are interchangeable on my list.

Oooh, I just discovered this thread. My list is quite ever-changing, but the top 5 or 6 are pretty constant:
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Radiohead - OK Computer
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Pixies - Doolittle
The Beatles - Revolver
Radiohead - In Rainbows
The Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Neutral Milk Hotel - The Aeroplane Over the Sea
And a few recent favorites that I wouldn't put on an "all-time best" list yet, but that I certainly think are some of the best in recent memory and deserve an honorable mention:
Wilco - A Ghost is Born
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
M. Ward - Post War
M. Ward - Hold Time
Spoon - Gimme Fiction
Arcade Fire - Funeral
And on the Radiohead discussion, I'm a guitar girl, so while I can certainly appreciate the genius and sounds of Kid A and Amnesiac, I don't enjoy listening to them as much as the others. That said, like every other Radiohead album, both of them each contains at least one of my favorite Radiohead songs ever, so I certainly can't "dislike" them - far from it. In fact, this "Optimistic" vid may be my favorite thing on YouTube:

First of all, so jealous. Wilco and Radiohead are the 2 acts I MUST see live before I die. I'm addicted to their live YouTube videos. And Post-War may be the most perfect-for-vinyl modern album in existence. As for Spoon, yeah, they seem to be pretty love 'em-or-leave 'em. My best friend would call them an "acquired taste" though, b/c she hated them last year, but just recently she asked me to make her a "Best of Spoon" mix, lol.
Have you M. Ward fans listened to Hold Time yet? You can hear it for free (legally) at NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=99084694). I haven't decided if I like it better than Post-War yet, and it sounds to me like his She & Him partner Zooey Deschanel may have influenced his sound a little bit, even though there are definitely some old-school M. Ward tunes on there as well. But whether or not it's better than Post-War (which was probably a bit more cohesive as a whole), it's still a great album in its own right.
