Not sure who it is, but it's definitely cool. What I'm curious about is how it's definitely a head but I'm not sure about what's surrounding it. It looks to me like maybe this character is imprisoned in some sort of contraption and is just waking up. Anyone else think it looks this way?

My thoughts exactly. If you look at the whole pic without focusing on all the detail you have the decepticon symbol.
My second impression was that it looked like Barricade but after seing the tweaked pic it's definitely someone else. But YEAH, the decepticon symbol is part of the concept.
Wonder if they'll make one based on the autobot symbol, too!!

I'm going with The Fallen. Note the symbols on each side of him running down. It does look like a pharaoh's headpiece. Interesting. Also, I was looking at the comic pic of Megs bowing down to the monolith with the face on it, and noticed it has some of the same symbols that are on the teaser poster.

this person thinks fallen is this god. which would explain the egyptian set pieces and the pyramids. I like this idea, alot, I hope it's true.

Okay it's time to turn up the heat on Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen. We've waited low in the weeds letting all the summer movies get their stuff out. We've seen the great year end movies, and watched the upcoming clips of the upcoming summer fare. We've seen certain movies coming out even try to duplicate Transformer size robots in their ads. Please, come on.

Well, I promise you we will rock your world with Transformers 2. The fans wanted ROBOTS KICKING ASS - well we got it. Today we are releasing the teaser poster and soon the onslaught will continue with a steady drum beat until June 26th.

Interesting, but isn't that sort of rehashing Megatron's story from the first movie a bit? The big bad leaves Cybertron, crashes on Earth however many millenia ago and gets released in the modern age. I like the Egyptian link, but hopefully the story is different if that's the case.

Well, Orci did say the symbols found in Egypt will have a tie-in with the Transformers. So having Anubis be much like Fallen with the design seems VERY interesting, imo.

And I wouldn't want to see the combine Prime/Jetfire yet. Leave that for the movie.

I put the Allspark crashing on Earth as a random incident. I'm not all that familiar with the Fallen (IDW's stuff made me step out of TF for a while, but I'm back and catching up), but he does sound very cool. If he was on Earth the whole time, I wonder if it'll be explained how he came to be 'trapped'?

Omg you beat me to it. I barely ever log on here but I just had to say that after taking a closer look at the enhanced picture and definetly ANUBIS jumps in my head. Notice the doglike nose feature, lack of a mouth or even a mouthplate like allll the others, curved crown which explains the stripes on the side and sort of getting more narrow towards the top. Anubis explains the Egypt connection it's role in transformers (and perhaps earth's) history.

Yep the poster is very cool and it is without a doubt the Fallen. I like how they are tying the Transformers in with Earth history and it also gives the Decepticons a lot more depth.

Oh I am not sure if any of you have read the new Empire mag but Bay is quoted as saying that Megatron WON'T be in the movie. The baddies are Devastator and the Fallen. We may get a little tagged on scene at the end where Soundwave resurrects Megatron but that will probably be it. Also Empire noted that Prime was missing in Egypt, which led them to assume he may die in the film. Now that would suck.

it's not a perfect match, but it's definitely enough to see that his face was based on the Decepticon symbol. if you try to do the same thing with Starscream or Megatron, i guarantee it won't match up quite as well.

Anyway, a lot was changed in the first movie, something like this happening in the 2nd isnt out of the realms of possibility. I also think it would immediatly set The Fallen up as a major threat if he beat Megatron in seconds.
