I like the fact that Sidewipe looks like a G1 Transformer mixed in with a Gundum/Japanese style robot.

Very attractive. I think ILM has done a great job with the Autobots interms of their designs; their Decepicons are a bit more inconsistent (Like the Tank 'Brawl' in the first film)

Cool design, but it would have been nice if Sideswipe was red like his G1 Lamborghini version. Onscreen the movie TFs are sometimes hard to tell apart unless their colors contrast. Another silver car/bot is going to just blend in.

Yep, Hasbro and Mattel were both pretty blatant in their use of repaints back in the '80s. I guess kids back then were just more tolerant of having the exact same mold with only the colors and names being different.

Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker, Ironhide/Ratchet, Optimus/Ultra Magnus, He-Man/Faker, Beast-Man/Moss-Man, Mer-Man/Stinkor, etc....

Funny to see Hasbro pulling the same crap with Transformers today. I just recently saw the "Classics" version Jetfire repainted with a new name at my local Target.

ROTF Bumblebee and Soundwave will be 2 "Preview" figures, similar to Proto Optimus and Proto Starscream were for the first film. They will be out around mid May. Then on May 30th, the movie line will be wide released, in several waves ( like every other TF toy line ) And yes, I work in retail, so first picks for me :)

I have a few question How big are the Revenge of The Fallen Robot Replicas? how big are Movie Voyager toys? are they the same scale?

I was eagerly anticipating the release of the Transformers Robot Replicas from the last Transformers movie.



I thought (think) the robot versions and designs of the characters are simply ****ing gorgeous...I figured the Robot Replicas would help me get my 'cool robot versions' fix.....ehhhh not so much.



They are about the size of like a regular 5-inch action figure unfortunately :(



My question is I wonder if that amazing toy company HOT TOYS shall make actual ROBOT versions (non transformable) of the characters?



Can someone please help with this? How would one find out?



I do know that the upcoming version of the Leader Class Optimus Prime does infact look leaps and bounds better than the '07 movie version when he is in his robot form...but I want all the characters to be of this quality or better when no in vehicle mode.



Granted there has to be props given to the guys/gals who make the figures I'm sure its not easy to have both versions be aestheticallly pleasing but both be functional....but come on it's almost 2010..if we can almost have flying cars we can have awesome versions of Transformer movie toys that can transform and look cool both in vehicle and robot mode...or if not just have great robot mode looking figures.

I think it's fair to say all the toys for the returning bots and cons are considerably better then the first time around. I still don't like there style, but I'd prefer the new ones over the old, in particular Optimus, he and the others have much better articulation.

Jetfire's robot mode is the biggest disappointment IMO. I'll probably buy the Twins, Sideswipe, Sideways, Leader Megs, Soundwave, and Bolt. Maybe Fallen

I think they were always complex. But yeah i think they just made it more difficult to transform it back and forth but it usually takes me three times to get it right.

i was at wal-mart tonight looking for Soundwave, as i heard he'd be released the 15th along with Bumblebee.

The Offical release for the figures is May 30th. Wal-mart had their boxes out in the open, but a sticker on them stated "do not shelf untill may 30th"

as for the preview figures.. No one knows. i tried askin wal-mart and got no answers. But if you order them online... u'll get them June 6th... so that sucks

i finally asked someone at Target (in Rhode Island, USA) to check the DPCI numbers for the preview figures, and got told they'd arrive the 26th.

Is it me, or are these stores not organized? Hasbro tells us the 15th... Austrialia sells them the 16th... Someone asked Wal-mart (or somewhere) and is told the 19th... and someone else checked Target and was told the 24th... And today i'm told the 26th.

UPDATE: I went took the drive to Walgreens and have found some figures. My walgreens had the smaller sized characters... like Ransak... the character pictured above. Walgreens had then listed at $11.99.

They had another character called Deadend and a blue suv type car which i forgot his name. None of which seemed to be in the movie so i passed.

My target still doesn't have any, but some people have mentioned that they were able to buy from target today, in another forum.

He looked it up and it said the 26th. He goes into the back and comes out with a box that has the May 30th sticker. He told me that he can't sell the figures... i tried explainging that those are the wave figures and i was referring to the preview figures... my friends and i felt he was rude about it... but he gave me an attitude and pretty much said i was making up stories. I was like, when you looked up the number, what date did it say? And he said it says the 26th, then he had someone else come over and the guy was like, whats the problem? Now i'm like... WTF? I was like there isn't a problem. I came here last week and was told that the figures release today, and he cut me off and said, "well they were wrong, they come out saturday." I continued to tell them that the main line comes out then, but the preview figures come out earlier, and Hasbro had said they'd be in stores by the 15th. You can't combine the individual constructicons. It just won't work. Much like how universe Galvatron was originally going to be a voyager/ultra with a walking tank third mode, when he was changed to a deluxe and dropped the thrid mode they still used the line art. It's why Galvatron has those feet that do nothing. It appears that at one point devastator might have formed from the individual constructicons. But they scrapped it for accurate bot modes. And made the giftset for an accurate Devastator. Voyager Mixmaster doesn't have a devy face anywhere on him. Rampage and Long Haul (the legs) are different size classes (deluxe and voyager). Demolisher is a voyager, he'd need to be a leader to make a proper body. Incase you didn't notice the legends combiner makes some sacrifices in terms of accuracy for having them be triple changers. Rampage isn't a centaur flap whips McCracken so he could acutally be a leg. Mixmaster is hauling around a huge ass flap with Devastators face on it. There is a 7th bot because Demolisher isn't bulky enough to be the torso on his own.

I'll be getting the legends Devastator some how. Even if I have to drop $150 bones for a case of EZ collection from Tak/To.
