With talks of a Thriller Musical and a World Tour, I think this is called for.

Say what you want about his personal life, whether he did do those things or not, but the man was the 80s

I mean after all...

Be prepared for some immature Michael Jackson haters to enter into the thread and make claims that he's a pedophile, child molester, a woman, and a freak. Unlike some of them I researched the facts and I appreciate the man as an artist, musician, and one of the greatest singers/entertainers of all time.

Regardless of how you feel about Michael Jackson, there's no denying that the man is a musical and dancing genius. All of these supposed "R&B, Funk, and Pop Superstars" in this era should be paying royalties for the music videos, dancing, and concepts that they used because all of them are from Michael Jackson.

I remember that thread. It was overtaken by the immature chuckleheads who made it about his personal life and kept throwing out the same old cliche' insults about his appearance, the false allegations, and etc.

I think I may've posted a couple of times in that thread.

I have felt for years that Michael doesn't get a fair shake. People are so busy judging him that they can no longer hear his music. I read a review once of Invincible (granted it was in EW) where all the guy did was attack Michael as a person. He made it abundantly clear that he wouldn't have liked the album no matter what it sounded like. If you can't be objective you shouldn't be a critic. But that's typical. We want to blast & mock & ridicule him, & we forget his accomplishments & how much joy his music has brought us. (I can't be alone; Thriller didn't buy 109 million copies of itself.) But to me, none of that matters. And I really don't think it's fair b/c the entertainment industry is full of oddballs. Hell, we're oddballs. We're a bunch of people who have developed strong emotional attachments to fictional characters & then debate over how said characters should be portrayed on film. But he is far too great of a performer to have his talent & his legacy disregarded the way it has.

I thought Captain EO was one of the creepiest things ever but the dance number and We Are Here to Change the World made up for it.

The muppets. I think one was called Thumper and I don't know I don't like puppets...:csad:

Tont Cox's name was Hooter. There was no Thumper. The robots were Major Domo & Minor Domo. And the two-headed thing was Idee & Odee.

Matrixo
03-01-2009, 01:46 PM
Yeah Hooter. He was the elephant. I don't know I mean I loved the choreography and the songs (Another Part of Me is one of my favorite songs of of Bad.) but other than that it was cheesy, but then again, it is a 80's Disney movie.

Chris Wallace

I loved the music, the choreography & it had killer FX. Plus, it was bar none the best 3D I've ever seen. Nothing else mattered to me.

I think that's actually going to happen. I will move hell to get a chance to see him again.
Shifting gears:
You ever listen to "I Can't Help It"? Written by Stevie Wonder, produced by Quincy Jones & sung masterfully by MJ. Is there any way this song could have been anything shy of pure gold?

Yeah its on Off the Wall. It's good. I didn't know Stevie wrote it though.
This kinda makes up for "Just Good Friends" Thats my least favorite song on Bad.

Speaking of Bad let me ask you this: Is Thriller and Bad not on the same level of awesomeness? I mean everyone is always all over Thriller but no one ever gives Bad credit, which I think both are equally as good.

I do feel it's woefully underappreciated by comparison, but I also think the title track didn't age well. It was cool when it first came out but it's just silly when I listen to it now.

Particularly that woman-beating piece of stool & his victim-they BOTH owe Michael some money IMO.
