If you show me a clip of that then I will stand corrected.I have no clue how to find it. But I literally remember saying to my friend "why is he standing like that?" while watching that last drive.
McNabb is a sure fire Hall of Famer if he wins a ring. He'll retire with better numbers then guys like Namath and Aikman just to name a few.Oh, I agree with you there. Look at a lot of Hall of Fame QB's numbers...you can play pretty damn badly, as long as you last in the league a decade or so and win a Super Bowl or two, you're going to be in the Hall of Fame.

But, if he doesn't win a Super Bowl he'll go down in the annals as just another Randall Cunningham; at times fun to watch, at times a good quarterback, but ultimately someone who simply wasn't good enough to win a championship.

Even outside of that, just in my opinion, I hate watching McNabb play. It's agonizing for me to watch most of the time. Even if he's the Eagles best chance to win a Super Bowl, watching him just isn't fun. Watching Jeff Garcia, that was fun. Watching Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, even Tony Romo, that's fun. McNabb's way of running an offense just is painful to watch at times. But that's totally my opinion.

Or if you have a great career with no super bowl, you can get in

CConn

Of course. I highly doubt McNabb's numbers are there, though.

Sure Mcnabb can get in even without a ring if his numbers are good which they are and will continue to get better. Also Mcnabb is a better QB then Cunningham was.

But I feel that if Vick can learn the offense and read the defense well, he can lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl. Vick potentially could be the best QB in the NFL He can run and throw.

McNabb isn't a HOF. When I think HOF I think best player at the position for a 4-5 year stretch. You have to go Brady, Manning, Warner before even discussing a fourth QB from this era. I don't think Roethelisberger will get in unless he gets to another Superbowl and plays for another 8 years or so to compile the numbers. I think if Rivers wins one and continues on the pace he's at now then he's also in the discussion. You can't even put a guy like Brees anywhere near borderline HOF until he either does it for another 3-4 years or wins a Superbowl. Obviously Farve will get in. So that's four 1st ballot. Brees will need to put up ridiculous numbers over the next few years to have that Dan Fouts esque argument. McNabb would be a distant fifth. The next batch I'd say Roethelisberger and Rivers have the inside track. Next QB's will be Warner/Farve... then Brady/Manning... then I see Big Ben/Rivers... with maybe Brees slipping in.

Does every team have their own HOF? If so, I know McNabb will get in. He's been the heart/soul of that team since he's been there. Or maybe I am thinking of every team reitres a player's jersey if that player was really great?

CConn

Yeah, teams retire Jerseys...and McNabb's probably will be...but Philadelphia really hasn't been a breeding ground for great QBs. The best we've ever had was Norm Van Brocklin...50 years ago.

Wah? If that was the case there would only by 2 every decade per positions. How would anybody who played with Rice pre-97 get in?

You have to go Brady, Manning, Warner before even discussing a fourth QB from this era.

1st 2 obvious, but Kurt Warner? No way, not now anyways. I can see him getting in with a few more solid seasons but not yet.

McNabbs got 196 touchdown passes to Warner 185 (plus another 27 rushing, to Warners 3) and 96 interceptions to Warners 116. McNabb has put up better #s without throwing to Fitzgerald, Boldin, Bruce, or Holt (all in their primes). The thought of Mcnabb having either of those pairs in during his prime is mind boggling. McNabb has also been MUCH more consistent than warner throughout hsi career (Remember Kurt with the Giants? Yeah, didnt think so.)

Yeah, Warner won a super bowl while McNabb hasnt. Outside of that, he has NOTHING on McNabb and thats not arguable.

Being a hall of famer is basically this: consistently playing at a very high level for a long time. Winning and or espec. stats determine the level players are playing at. Overall impact > everything (i.e....Mike Irvin only had what, 67 career touchdown receptions? Randy has 1/3 of that in 1 season 2 years ago).

McNabbs entering his 10th season as the starter. He has twice as many tds then interceptions, has been the super bowls and championship games. He has a great wr on his team for 1 of those years. Right now he is probably a borderline guy who doesnt make it. Most will concede he was a hall of fame talent who wasnt always put in a situation to put up gawdy #'s, thus making his #'s and win-loss record/playoff appearence all the more impressive, but the lack of any real accomplishments throughout hurts him. However, should he win a super bowl, or add another 50-75 touchdown passes and go deep into the playoffs again a few times...I dont see how he doesnt get in.

Norm put it well the other day when he said that the media and history glamorize players when they retire, not the other way around. McNabbs been an icon.

When he retires, well hear about his impressive #'s and all the time he spent on the field in January. Considering well know doubt hear analysts in his corner shouting how he never had a real good wr outside of 2004...I say he gets in.

Mcnabb will get in, he put up consistent numbers, and lead his teams to 5 conference championship games and a Super Bowl. And Marino got in and he won no SB and his final days with Miami were not great. So Mcnabb can get in.

And Warner only had like 3 good years with the Rams from 00-02, and last year with Arizona. Mcnabb had more good years then Warner in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2009.

Wah? If that was the case there would only by 2 every decade per positions. How would anybody who played with Rice pre-97 get in?

Rice, Tim Brown, Carter are the only guys I think of from that era. Irvin I guess was borderline who got in. It doesn't mean one guy, but no more than 3-4 players at the postition every dacade or so.

1st 2 obvious, but Kurt Warner? No way, not now anyways. I can see him getting in with a few more solid seasons but not yet.

Warner spearheaded what was the most deadly offense we have seen for a three year stetch and it's not even close. Maybe you can talk about the Chargers of the 80's (who never won it) or the 03-06 Colts but the Rams were the best of those three. Warner is one of the highest rated passer of all time. Just set the completion percentage in a single game. The guy is in. Maybe not first ballot if he's eligible the same year as Farve but nonetheless he is clearly in.

Yeah, Warner won a super bowl while McNabb hasnt. Outside of that, he has NOTHING on McNabb and thats not arguable.

Say what you want about the teams and talent but the numbers aren't even close in key areas. McNabb's one HOF year was when he had T.O... other than that he has been solid at best. And he was outdueled twice by Warner in TWO Championship games. That means Warner is far ahead of McNabb.

McNabb's career numbers do not compare to Warner and Brees completion % and rating wise if you look it up. McNabb has compiled wins and numbers in the other categories having played in the league as long as he has but so did Randall Cunningham and Warren Moon. Which of those guys are in the HOF?

Hypotheticals... while we are at it, let's give Warner the Eagles defense/special teams units and give the Eagles the Rams/Cardinals defense as well.

And let me get my picks in before the games start. Went 2-2 again last week... 4-4 on the year. I pick the toughest games each week so I'll give myself a break.

McNabb had arguably better all around teams teams. Kurt has gone to three Super Bowls, with two different teams, is one of the most efficient passers in NFL history, has two MVP honors, a Super Bowl MVP and comparable numbers in spite of less play time.

I would consider Kurt a Hall of Famer, I don't consider McNabb one at this time.

This is the game I've been thinking about all week long. Matt Ryan is 5-1 against AFC teams. Of course most of those teams were in the AFC West last year. Tom Brady also hasn't lost a home game since Nov 12th 2006. I think this is a game you just pray you pick the right winner.

Whatever happens, I think it will be an entertaining game. Could be a shoot out.

I tip the balance in the Falcons favour due to us having a better running game. We need to get pressure on Brady early. Get Abe free in one on one situations so he can get at him. No matter how good you are you get isolated against Abraham he'll beat ya most times.

I'm giving the edge to Atlanta as well. The Patriots don't run the ball as good as they used to. Not good when you're playing in the rain.

The Browns need to unload Quinn or Anderson in a trade. I think they're putting too much pressure on their starting QB by having these controversies every week on who is going to play, or if someone may lose their starting job.

Ridiculous.

I called it...Lions would have a win before week 5....not to mention my bias as I just don't like Jason Campbell

Haynesworth injured. Redskins lose to the winless Lions.

ESPN will be talking about that for the next week.

That + Tebow Injury watch should leave enough time in Sportscenter for just the top 10. However, all the top ten will be plays with Favre and Tebow
