Not a great game for the Bears' offense, but I'll take it.

Nice to see Matt Forte finally got some space to work and he took advantage of it when he got it.

How bad was it?

If the Lions weren't 17 points down, I bet he would have come back in.

Stafford has looked nothing short of spectacular the last two weeks. He is validating my hype entirely. He outplayed Cutler today.

Lions need to fire Stan Kwan and probably whoever suggested taking Williams over Knox in the draft.

Or if the Lions didn't give up 5 sacks :awesome:

Actually that is entirely irrelevant to the outcome of the game. The passing game was the least of the Lions problems. They outplayed the Bears on offense and defense. Again, they lost the game on special teams.

They've stymied Buffalo all day. The only semblance of offense for the Bills started to come after it was 31-3 and they still only had a little over 200 yards total offense. Miami has held Buffalo to 1/11 on 3rd down, forced 3 turnovers (including a Pick 6) and just closed the door again inside the red zone to kill the game. What else do you want?

One of those TD's came when Chicago started at the 10 yard line. The rest came with the Bears starting in or near their side of the 50.

Meh... just one of those early season stinkers. NFC East is pretty much over. I guess Eagle fans can fool themselves into thinking their team is as good as the Giants. I see a repeat of last year. 3 upcoming critical games on the Cowboys schedule.

As a Texans fan, it was pretty funny to watch. I have to admit that he was much better today than he has been. Seemed like his receivers were dropping a lot of catchable passes. He still had his share of uncatchable throws though.

He barely held onto that one too. Russell put a lot of velocity on it and DHB bobbled it for a couple seconds before finally gaining control. It was a very good throw by Russell (hit DHB right in the chest). DHB's best play of the day was a reverse for 20 yards. Their offense is a total embarrassment though. Texans had arguably the worst defense in the league coming into this game and the Raiders' offense managed to make them look good. The safety/kick return TD was a hilarious sequence.

LOL. Their offensive line is terrible and their defense is a joke. Doesn't matter how good Rivers, LT, Gates, Sproles, Jackson, et al are if Rivers has no time to throw and there isn't any decent run-blocking. Their defense is just pathetic. Very soft.

Jets lost to a very good Saints team, and I have to say that Sanchez looked like the rookie QB that he is and made tons of mistakes. Their D really stopped Brees and played great, but when your QB threw 3 INT and 1 fumble, there's really no chance for you to win. Hopefully Sanchez will learn from this, because their schedule won't get easier, esp. with Pats now starting to click on all cylinders.

As for the Raiders, after that impressive victory they have regressed and JaTubby Russell is playing like other team's 3rd string QB. The big news is that Tom Cable may get arrested later, although they should put Al Davis behind bars instead.

I'm kind of 50/50 when it comes to Whitlock. He tells it like it is in some respects, but in others I think he lets his personal preference sway him (which is only human... we all do this to some extent). It's like when he talks about Serena Williams in tennis. He criticizes her when she acts like a big baby, which I give him credit for because John McEnroe and Manly Carillo would never say anything bad about her at all until the recent incident at the US Open. But he then gushes over her talent, which is certainly there... but he claims that, if she wanted to, she could beat any player in the game, even Roger Federer. Even on Federer's worst day, that could never happen.

Yeah, I really think that Troy will re-invigorate this defense. For some reason, I just get the picture that he's the "missing-link" that is keeping them from continuing their dominance into the end of the game. Could be his leadership, could be his uncanny ability to intercept the ball like... every time it's needed to seal the game. I don't know, but I'm hoping he really is the key.

Mike Wallace is slowly becoming my favorite rookie on the face of the planet. Yeah, if the offense can keep up what it did last night, Troy might be all we need to dominate the league. The Defense is doing fine against the run... it's the pass where they are struggling now. And of course, that's Troy's specialty. When he's healthy... the guy is superhuman.

both sides are legit, cause at the same time the QB position is most important to both the team and fans

I aree wholeheartedly with what Tom Jackson & Trent Dilfer said on SC last night about he crappy officiating in games with 'star' QBs. This Brady Rules crap is bogus and if thy're going to do it, then they need to do it evenly across the league.

Tom said it was ruining the entire sport and I agree. Porcelain QBs FTL.

Yeah, I think QBs have been babied a bit too much by the league. I understand that they must be protected, since they are the face of the teams they represented and they sell jerseys and tickets, but right now it's like a legal hit against them will result in penalties. If this keeps up eventually QBs won't need an offensive line, because a touch would result in a 15-yard penalty and a first down lol.

Brady is such a girl about it too, trying to influence the refs. Just get up and brush yourself off and focus on the next play. If they call it, they call it. No need to be such a drama queen.

The next NFL player not to go out of their way to try and draw a flag for even the slightest of infractions will be the first. Given where Suggs was going, the complete lack of ambiguity in the rule, and the fact that Brady's about 55 weeks removed from a major knee injury, I don't really see what the problem is.

I picked Cin because Cleveland sucks.
See my edit. NFL.com showed the game ending in a tie, and I didn't check it again until today.

He does that every time the Ravens lose. If you ask him, every Baltimore loss is because of a bad call by the officials. He's such an annoying jackass.

Al Davis should go out and try to coach it himself. That would be funny.

He did that before in the 60's.

He probably was... So that somehow makes Brady less of a drama queen? I don't follow.

It's not that ambiguous, you have to be hitting forcefully. And Brady doesn't have to play NFL football if he isn't ready.
