I know we have a slight issue with age of news.
We are actually trying to resolve that a little more now.
What do you think we can work on?
Be honest....

Honestly, I listen to this podcast to get me "hyped" about superhero movies. You have talked about having a "why Spider-Man 3 sucked" segment. If you are doing a podcast about Superhero Hype, you should be hyping them, and not bashing movies that you felt weren't as good as they should have been. Lately in the podcast there has been alot of talk about movies that sucked, and if this is true, I think the show would be more entertaining if you gave your review, said why it sucked, then move on. Committing 5-10 minutes of a 45 minute show to how crappy the Spirit was is not very entertaining at all. Listening to people point out the flaws is nowhere near as entertaining to listen to as tidbits of interesting info about upcoming movies, the latest rumors, and things like that. That is why I come to superherohype.com, and that is what listeners should come to expect from the podcast.

Allow a guest to come in every so often instead of the usual suspects. Do polls in different boards on here and talk about them.

Do a drunk show. Everybody pounds a 6 pack and then nails a shot or two of JD and then press record. Instant entertainment.

Wha? I totally disagree! In fact, I wish they would do more in-depth film reviews. I think it would help, though, if they are going to do these sorts of pieces, to make sure that all three of them have seen the movie. That gets the energy of debate goin' a bit better.

No he isn't.
Here's the problem, if you're going to bash a movie or even talk about a good movie, you have to make it interesting. Comedy helps, but frankly, that's not your strong suit. It's like when Chase, PWN3R and I used to get on Live and talk about Southland Tales, comedy gold.

Also stick an attractive sounding woman in there.
If comedy isn't your strong suit, why not get someone like Dog Lips whose "radio show" was actually funny and entertaining.

That's all it takes to get your drunk? lightweight. :oldrazz:
I think guests would be cool. And not people from the hype. Maybe someone who worked on a movie, comic, tv and even toy or game.

I was trying to listen to 16 today and the run time said 47 minutes and it took you 11 minutes to just to your first topic. Is there a way to streamline your shows? I mean Malice definitely has a radio/podcast voice but I'm not really captivated by what's going on and I'm almost using it as ambient noise in the background.

Hi there, I've been hanging around here since 2000, waiting to see who was cast as Spider-man.
I'm also an avid podcast listener. I have only recently found your podcast, and so far have listened to nos 1, 11, and 16. I've started 12, and have downloaded 13, 14 and 15 to listen to.
You should model your podcasts after TFWIRE and Spider-man Crawlspace podcasts.
Stick to the topic at hand. I do not care about your friend's wedding, people getting stuck in Disney rides, US weather patterns or American football. You might be better preparing an agenda for the show before hand. I note that those other two podcasts I have mentioned often say that they will have been chatting away on Skype for up to 30mins before the podcasts "begin".
Some prep work before hand would help. Without sounding smug, I doubt you guys would win a Superhero Movie quiz if you went up against many of the board members, you sometimes come across as "casual" fans. (Off the top of my head, somebody had not seen 300, none of you had seen Hancock at the initial time of release)
You should discuss the week's/fortnight's news off the top of the show. (Use the SHH frontpage maybe).
You should then have a weekly discussion on things to come, and things that have past. This way you can put some topics to bed such as TDK, Sin City etc.
Open up your topics to the SHH boards:
e.g. Top 5/10/20 Comicbook films (SM2), top 10 underrated films (TMNT 1990), top 10 worst casting (Jennifer Garner), top 5 films due for reboot, 5 comics that can never be made etc etc
This Fandom come subboard is quite inconspicuous. Put a sticky in the main boards, the wolverine one is quite busy at the moment.
Remove your US-centric bias. Beware that us from RoTW have different currencies, pop culture, currency and prices, varying release dates (sometimes these can be massive), and usually we have less exposure to the medium in general.
More enthusiam please. The Southern fella (Fire?) sounds like that guy from Family Guy. In radio you have to put extra enthusiasm into your voice, to perform almost, otherwise you invent a new insomnia cure.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I really want this podcast to succeed. The Tformers and TFW2005 podcasts I quickly gave up on as they fell into traps that you guys are falling into (a 10min conversation on Starbucks!!!!!). I want the Hype podcast to be my no1 podcast!!!!
Also check out the BBC Adam and Joe podcast if you have the time. You'll never be exposed to it in America otherwise:

We are eventually working our way to that point. Some advertising around the site would certainly help our numbers. We're debating when we think we're ready to go back out into the real world, so that will happen eventually.

Just to clarify what I meant by this. Ask the board for future discussion topics (as opposed to seeking their opinion on the topic, the noobs!)
And may I apologise for slating Immortalfire's voice? Just listened to episode 17, and he does a great enthusiastic job as the lead host. I would suggest making him the "chair" of each podcast. I appreciate that Score is the tech brains and Malice the leader, but I think Fire should be the leader of the agenda on the show.
Incidentally, it does appear that Malice seems to the most socially dominant of the trio. This may be cos he actually is the boss on the boards, AND that his voice is quite deep. However he does tend to the "hog" the discussion ever so slightly.
I hope I'm not coming across as too critical. I must have something like, let's see, 104x5x4, feck, 2000hrs of podcasts listened to. The actual discussions are great (when on topic!). You three did an awesome job of summarising Watchmen, covered all the bases near enough. Excellent.
The TDK thing grated on me initially, but I'm now appreciating it. It could be your "meme". On every show you should mention TDK (just the once mind). Heck, you could now try to introduce TDK into every online discussion you ever make, like an injoke that only listeners will get.

I think the BOF-Podcast have a good setup where they discuss specific topics in depth, and often get some heated argument/debates which end up being entertaining and informative.

This isn't an improvement suggestion, just a viewing suggestion... On Netflix I found a terrific little documentary called "Starz Inside: Comic Books Unbound". It's a really expansive live-action superhero piece, even covering the Roger Corman "Fantastic Four" and the Albert Pyun/Matt Salinger "Captain America". I can't recommend this enough, and to sweeten the pot more - it's a "Watch Instantly" film! You don't even have to wait for it through the mail!
Really, guys, this is a great movie - I know y'all will approve!

Alright you sissies, you asked and I'm answering. I know exactly what the Hype Cast needs.
1. The T-Shirt needs to have an Asteroid super-imposed on it
2. The name Asteroid-Man should be praised at least once an episode.
3. The best way to start the show is with a quote from Asteroid-Man.
4. Talk about how much you wish you were like Asteroid-Man (especially you IF)
5. Give Asteroid-Man money.
6. Give Asteroid-Man a handshake.
7. Give Asteroid-Man a greeting.
8. Give Asteroid-Man a kickass watch.
9. Give Asteroid-Man your soul (and fries on the side)
10. Say Asteroid-Man 10 times fast.
11. Laugh at how dumb you are for thinking 10 was a real challenge.
12. Love Asteroid-Man
13. Know that Asteroid-Man loves you
14. Have an Asteroid-Man sound effect that just goes "ASTEROIDS!" once in a while.
15. Buy Asteroid-Man a ticket to Ghana
16. Accompany Asteroid-Man to Ghana
17. Look at Asteroid-Man's Asteroid-Manips
18. Read Asteroid-Man's quick film outline for Spider-Man 4 and 5 in the fan fiction section which proves to hsf that it is possible to have more than one villain.
19. Have guest hosts like Asteroid-Man.
20. Remember that only 18 and 19 are serious.
Thanks for your time, Godbless.
PS: Episode 18 was great! Good job guys.

Er, let's get the thread back on topic:
The fan involvement sounds like a good idea, it works for other podcasts.
DVD commentaries are good, but us Region 2 folk (UK and Japan for 1st gen SD DVD) have films that are 4% faster than your DVDs, so we would not be able to listen in sync (have no idea what it would be like for BluRay).
More discussion topics:
Best Superhero/comic film of the last century i.e. pre 2000 (or 2001 if you want to be technically pedantic and/or need to include X-men)
Which film are each of you looking forward to the most in 2009?
Which do you prefer out of DC and Marvel?
Which other geeky things are you into? Toy collecting? Video games? Comics? TV shows?
You could each do a recommendation of the week (swiped from the Crawlspace podcast), where you get to recommend a particluar comic, movie, TV show, book, or video game that you would like to recommend to the listeners.
