Alcoholism, anyone? :woot:

You can take that one to the bank! IRON MAN 2http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2.gif (http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6320&Itemid=99#) Production Designer J. Michael Riva says his first job on the sequel was to design a toilet for Robert Downey Jr. to puke in.

Well, there's one story point down, now only 387 to go! Riva was talking to NPR's (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=100816240) Susan Stamberg on the Morning Edition,

Eight weeks before shooting began on Iron Man 2, J. Michael Riva had just gotten the first real script.
But he did have a list of sets and plot points. The first item on the list read: "Tony, in the Iron Man armor, pukes in a toilet."
"I design a toilet," says Riva. "My big job for the day. After that I can go home. My kids ask me, 'What'd you do today, Dad?' I designed a toilet!"
'It's Like Marionette Theater'
As production designer, Riva is responsible for the look of the toilet — to make sure it fits with the look of everything else in the film and doesn't stick out.
"It's like a marionette theater," Riva says. "You want to look at the puppets. You don't want to look at the strings."
Tony Stark pukes in toilet, heads back to bedroom, into the arms of...

Safe to assume drinking has become an issue?

Tony must be mixing his light and dark liquors again. :nono:

It's good to see this being acknowledged.

Excellent. From this news, its not a million miles away from assuming that we're gonna see a drunken Stark in the armour getting his ass handed to him (preferrably filmed by TV crews) scene...

At this point it's hard to take any reports seriously. one minute we hear one thing, the next it's something else.

I'm just glad to read that the first real script was done and love that they are working in "Demon in a bottle" story, I read that it the writers would make that story part of the film, but not a huge part, looking forward to hearing more news soon.

I think people are reading way too much into this. you know people sometimes puke for other reasons than being drunk, right? I really don't even see why the fact that he's pukes sometime in the movie is news.

The most likely reason for Tony to be throwing up is because of his drinking. And it's movie news worthy because it would mean they're acknowledging a key facet of the character: his alcoholism. Also means we may be seeing other effects of his drinking in the movie, making it a potential subplot.

I think there could be a million reasons why he's puking, yes, his drinking could be one of them and that would be cool to see that aspect of his character on screen, but I personally don't think that just because he happens to puke in one scene automatically means they're doing the demon in a bottle storyline.

It's amusing that Iron Man is one of those superheroes who looks best with his face down in the gutter. Similarly, Batman looks great on fire (BB) or critically injured (TDK)...

Also, here's hoping Rhodes steals the IM armor to protect Tony from himself and in realization (a drunk) Stark pulls out his secret WAR MACHINE armor and attacks him...

Don't get too attached to this scene.

I heard Marvel lowballed the toilet with a $250k offer and it's already being replaced with a cheaper bathroom sink.

Tht will be great to watch! Imagine, Ironman telling the Manderin how beautiful he looks or laughing in a mid air battle.

Similarly, Keanu Reeves has replaced a wardrobe after an insulting offer.

^ from the article, its a toilet near a bedroom. So I assume its from the master bedroom in his house or maybe a hotel room.
