Good to see they may not have completely forgot about tying this into the Mandarin. Of course they had a casting call for IM1 that was looking for an asian guy to play Gene Khan.

I'm probably reading too much into it, but the fact that they want somebody to play a Senator reminds me of how back in the Tales of Suspense days, there was a Senator who wanted Stark to turn over the armor to the government. Perhaps that'll be a plot point in IM2?

That'd be awesome if McCain would appear in a movie like this and teamed up with Iron Man. Make it like the Spidey/Bama thing. Favreau did seem to make note of McCain once a while back, I wonder what he would think.

I hope there are some nasty, old school, throwback Russian commies in this movie.

Movies need more evil Russian commies again.

The young boy I'm guessing might be a very young Tony in flashback. And the US Senator thing with the gov't wanting to get ahold of IM's armor is a very plausible scenario. You damn well know that's what would happen in real life if someone had an armor like that. 2nd amendment be damned.

Favs posted on his twitter about a week ago that they film in 5 weeks. So.... four weeks.

They start rehearsals next week.

The senator could be working for Mandarin or the main villain.
