TORRANCE -- A Jiffy Lube employee has been charged with raping a 20-year-old customer.

22-year old Johnny Jeffrey Maciel pleaded not guilty to a felony count of forcible rape today in Torrance Superior Court and was ordered jailed on $175,000 bail.

Maciel allegedly asked the woman -- who had taken her car to be inspected at the Jiffy Lube at 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard -- to accompany him to his office, then locked the door and sexually assaulted her last Thursday.

The woman had left her two children, an adult friend and the friend's child in the car, authorities said.

Maciel was arrested at 7 p.m. last Thursday by Torrance police, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Inmate Information Center Web site.

Maciel, who has a prior strike on his record, faces up to 16 years in state prison if convicted, according to the District Attorney's Office.

He is due back in Torrance Superior Court on March 16.

That's actually pretty wild. Most rapes don't occur in a place of business during normal business hours while someone's family is waiting outside.

"Forcible rape". Is there another kind? Has anybody ever been persuaded to volunteer themselves up for a rape?

Statutory Rape is not always Forcible Rape? Maybe?

Because if a 17-year-old has Sex with a 19 year old its rape.
Seiresly why go after people like that when you should be going after Forcible Rapist.
Which is why I propose the Median age of consent law:
people at ages 16 and 17 can have sex with anybody under 21 and over 14.

Seriously.

And rape cases are not "gone after". Victims approach law enforcement with their complaint, who are obligated to investigate and charge concurrent with the law.

That would be like saying, "why bother going after an unarmed robber rather than an armed robber?". Yes, one is inherently more dangerous, but they are both in violation of a law.

It's apples and oranges.

I wanna see what this woman looks like that she was so insanely hot, this guy was compelled to lock her into his office in broad daylight with her family waiting outside and have his way.

It's odd that he could rape the victim during normal business hour, because whenever I went to Jiffy Lube there are way too many technicians around to be "alone" with a costumer, not to mention the office is always too small to be isolated from other people. I guess it's a Jiffy Lube that has an office with soundproof walls.

what's the difference between rape and sexual assualt? Are those two terms interchangable?

I figure one is actual rape, and the other is like groping someone or touching someones body.

Rape you go to jail for, sexual assualt you can become a public figure.

He definitely rotated her tires.

He sure did change her oil.

Wow did she get screwed over by her mechanic or what. And raped!

That's definitely getting it in a Jiffy.

She sure didn't look up what full-body inspection meant beforehand.

I wonder if she got it in thirty minutes guaranteed or had to sit around while they finished.

That's all I got.

I live in a place where you can get it for $16.95 + Tax. And now with 10% less rape.
