Yeah, the sub/pre title seems even more unnecessary now that Avengers is opening almost a year later. I hope it's dropped

I think it's to establish that the "Avenger Initiative" began with Steve Rogers...

so what is the current Captain America/ Avengers game plan? are they releasing Avengers with hints of Captain America in the sequel, and then releasing Cap's solo before Avengers 2? are they releasing Hulk 2, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Ant-Man and they'll ALL have a recruitment ending before they do Cap? because if that was the case then i can understand the subtitle. if thats not the case then its not necessary.

Obviously they want to tie CAP to the Avengers by calling it "The First Avenger," but that is not a very good title, or at least is not needed. Maybe if they put Captain America before The First Avenger it would be better but maybe it's just a temporary title that will get changed before the movie goes to theaters.
