I say go for a prequel. Good way to attract big directors and writers. Also you don't have to worry about the next Avengers movie as far as continuity. Maybe plant a few seeds for the Avengers flick.

Yeah perhaps in another WWII film they could introduce Namor, the Torch etc. Get the Invaders thing happening.
Working with Nick Fury or meeting Wolverine as well (dreams are for free).

It would be nice to see a Namor/Torch teamup....but I don't see it happening.
I always thought it would be good to do Cap during WWII and having him meet Fury and Logan too.....I don't think they are going to go with the Fury being that old scenerio....and not sure if they can do him meeting Logan, unless they use a different actor, because of the XMEN stuff being a different studio.

I'm curious- Cap has admitted seeing service on the Russian front during WWII( and even meeting Stalin on one occassion in The Invaders)-could we see more of this in the film?

I am all for keeping Cap sequels in WWII, but they could also do some in the present day as well.
That's why the smart thing is to NOT freeze him at the end of the first movie, but rather at the opening of the Avengers movie.
As far as present day story lines go, I always liked the Sleeper story arc in Tales of Suspense.

CAP WWII sequel would be cool. Would be cool to have some Red Skull and Master Man squaring off with the INVADERS. Of course, Marvel would have to get the rights to Namor back to pull it off. It could happen. Don't think a Namor movie will go with out that.

How about Cap versus american nazis?
I mean Cap fought so hard against this ideal in WW2, and then wake up in the modern times and we have groups like the arrayan brotherhood and such, that are essentially american nazis, I would like to see captain america have to come to terms with that change as part of the movie.

i liek this idea, the hate monger could be hitler survuived, or a clone, or a bastard son beleiving in "the dream of an old man" and was the startr of neo nazism, so cap decides not to just adjust but totake down the founder as a symbol of americas superiority over nazi beleife or something like that

I would like to see a scenario where some US Security contractors (ala Blackwater) are employed to augment the Secret Service. This is a repeat of an old post I made, but it is relvnt to this discussion:
... with all the current real-world issues around the use of para-military contractors (ala blackwater), the story could be that someone has made inroads with several influential senators, the state department, and the DOD to get government security contracts... They get authorization to set up a training facility in VA (near DC), and then there is a mysterious attempt on the president's life. The Secret Service takes lots of casualties, and the President's security has to be augmented. The security contractors in question are brought it with fancy armored vehicles and advanced weapons to soup up Presidential security. Cap smells something fishy about all of this, but Fury says that situation is outside of their charter. Cap says that he doesn't have a charter, and is there to protect the U.S. He catches onto the plot and is able to interfere as they make their move, trying to kidnap the president. The contractors turn out to be AIM or Hydra, who forcibly occupy the Pentagon and set a perimeter with hunderds of hostages (including the Secretary of Defense).
They have some kind of WMD... and with the high value hostages, they are ready to name the entire US as a ransom. It could be Strucker as the head of the faux security corporation (really a HYDRA operation) and a version of the Death spore would be his WMD (a variation of which has given him longevity). Cap manages to infitrate and free the hostages, and opens a window of opportunity for the military to strike. There is a lot of chaos, gun-fire, etc... Cap defeats Strucker causing HYDRA to retreat since this particular "head" has been neutralized.
Red Skull could be used rather than Strucker... and in either case, Crossbones should be in there. All kinds of ideas could be fleshed out...
