Who do you think would make a good Enchantress?

Sadly, Enchantress won't be in the Thor film, as far as I know. Perhaps she'll show up in a sequel, though?
I don't care if I get flamed for this, but Sienna Miller would be the perfect Amora IMO

Hell yeah to Helfer for Amora.

I used to pick Sienna Miller for Enchantress (because of young British and with the right make up looks hot), but once I found out she's kind of a little demented I didn't want her anymore. Well if Branagh can straighten her out in the one movie deal, I'm okay with it.
Helfer (born 1974) will look aged compared to Thor (rumored to be 25-30 years old). I'm kind of thinking Thor will look older or the same age as Sif & Enchantress. So my pick is an unknown blond British actress from TV or obscure movie. A young one preferred.

BTW, in this picture she looks almost Eastern European. Now that's easy on the budget.

I think the ideal Enchantress would be Megan Fox with blonde hair. There's something incredibly evil about Megan Fox to me.
But, barring her, I'd say Kristanna Loken could do a great job as the Enchantress.

How about Romola Garai (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0304801/)? She's an up and coming statuesque blonde with a strong theatrical background.
Hmm the chick from Amazing Grace. Unsure about that one. I'm thinking Enchantress needs to be Grace Kelly beautiful. Forget Megan Fox. I'm not even a fan of the girl anyway. The way Michael Bay has got her slutting around the place on Transformers it's totally unnecessary.
Tricia Helfer ain't a bad choice. But I'm thinking they'll likely go for somebody younger now that Thor and Loki have been cast.

I'd say the Enchantress is far closer to the "slut" side of the spectrum than the "Grace Kelly" side.

Amber Heard. Young, curvier than Tricia Helfer, and slutty enough.

Hmm, green dress. Does that look familiar?
But Branagh might have the cheaper Commonwealth version.

Estella Warren meets the physical requirements - tall, blonde, blue-green eyes, beautiful - but not sure if she'd have the acting chops to pull it off.

Angelina Jolie was very good in Beowulf as the Grendel's mother, she reminded me of Amora.

January Jones. She's jaw droppingly hot, plus she's a really great actress (see Mad Men). Can she do evil & seductive? Can she do the Shakespeare-esque dialouge? Kenneth should at least give her consideration.

James Marsden was born in 1973 while Famke Janssen was born in 1966 but that didn't stop them from being paired as Cyclops & Jean Grey in the X-Men movies.

Yuck, actually that's supposed to be the exception not the the norm as they don't have good screen chemistry after all.

Well in light of the age prejudice, who do you want playing Amora the Enchantress? Hilary Duff? Lindsay Lohan? Miley Cyrus? Dakota Fanning?
chiefchirpa
06-06-2009, 09:36 PM
Not age prejudice, it's just that people tend to keep over the hill actresses name because they have seen them acting since god knows when & dismiss promising young actresses because they haven't seen them enough.
It's a miracle nobody said Sharon Stone, but if this were 5-7 years ago Stone would have been said.

Because any woman over 30 is apparently "over the hill" in today's world.:whatever:

"Over the hill" In yesterday's world. Women are often married before 25 years old back then, now over 30's is almost a norm.
No, I solely judge it relative from the actor's age. If Thor is 40 years old then a 35-40 years old female lead is no problem. As a rule actor has to be older than actress. I'm okay with 1-2 years difference, but more than that - no. Female simply matures faster & can be paired with older actors; look at Kirsten Dunst or Katie Holmes.
There would be many choices of young able actress in the step of Chris Hemsworth, it's just that we tend to look for yesterday's names - which would be inappropriate because Hemsworth is not yesterday's name.

Kirsten Dunst is paired with Tobey Maguire, who's 7 years older than her.
Katie Holmes is paired with Christian Bale, who's 4 years older than her.
Robert DJ is paired with Gwyneth Paltrow, who's 7 years older than her.
Older male paired with a considerably younger female looked okay. See if you can find the opposite.

Ok, it's not about whether the actresses have solid acting skills or not. That's a prerequisite. You can have oscar winner actress like Meryl Streep or Emma Thompson (Branagh ex BTW) but she won't be fitting when paired with Chris Hemsworth. Why? Because they're older comparatively than the actor playing Thor. Dunst & Maguire have good chemistry even though many people don't like her in SM series.

My candidate was Sienna Miller if Thor is someone older (actually she's an OK pick even now). I pick Amber Heard because her age is comparative to Chris Hemsworth's age, but Branagh most likely picked an unknown Commonwealth young actress.
You basically have to adjust the actress age toward the leading actor, not picking the actress just for the sake of her. If Sean Connery is Thor, you can have Diane Keaton as Amora. And no you better not have Megan Fox as Sif if Zac Efron is Thor.
I still think that Jessica Biel will be the Enchantress...in the first movie!

Olivia Wilde. She's a good actress, she's hot, and she's the right age range.

Isn't Amora like 6'3" opposite a 6'6" Thor? They should aim for an actress in the 5'9" range to place opposite the 6'3" Chris Hemsworth.
TheCorpulent1
11-21-2009, 08:15 PM
Her height isn't really that important, though. Unlike Sif, she's not a warrior. She's a mystic and a seductress. More than anything else, Amora should be smoking hot.
Chewy
11-21-2009, 08:23 PM
Her height isn't really that important, but at a whopping 5'1" I believe Kristen Bell would simply be too short. They've cast all of the other Asgardians in the tallish to tall height range, with Anthony Hopkins being the shortest at 5'8" (and I imagine wardrobe and/or camera tricks will be employed to add to his height).
TheCorpulent1
11-21-2009, 08:32 PM
Personally, I think I narrowed my choices for the Enchantress down to Diora Baird or Amber Heard somewhere along the way. Leaning more toward Heard than Baird, though.
Panthro
11-21-2009, 08:37 PM
I think Kristen Bell's a nice looking woman, but semi-immortal mystical seductress level of beauty? I don't quite see her pulling that off. You might as well cast Emma Stone as Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.
Franklin Richards
11-21-2009, 09:26 PM
I think Bell is smokin' hot. And more importantly she's charming and she can act. I don't one of those Victoria Secret models who can barely get through a commercial, I wanna gorgeous lady who can seduce me with her wit, charm, and charisma as well as her beauty.
I'll fudge towards actress over beauty every time.
