I can't wait for the discussion when we get an idea of some of the casts. Hopefully this forum doesn't get nearly as clogged as the batman forum was. It's a pain seeing 10 of the same threads there, with very subtle differences, and could be under one topic in general. They have a villain thread, they have an individual villain thread, how many villains should they have..

like honestly, the same discussion comes out of all those threads.

:(. All I look at there now is the photo manip thread.

Accept, Jonah Hex, and Green Lantern will be out next year. They're working on Flash, and Suicide Squad, and currently taking pitches on Wonder Woman. Superman will return again sooner or later, too.

Flash will happen within the next few years, trust me ;). New people are in charge of WW, and from what I heard WB is eager to get SS made as the really want a villain centric film.

not unless they are a WGA member, spend a couple years paying dues in Hollywood, and don't tell anyone they are a fanboy (that tends to scare studios)

That's not necessarily true, there are a lot of studios who go through the "back door" and give projects to "unsolicited writers". MTV is famous for this. I know New Line has done this as well among other studios.

The two Wonder Woman writers didn't even have a script under their belt and WB bought Wonder Woman from them and then were on the project for a bit with the task of writing a new Wonder Woman script.

It is a big money saver for the studio, but it is very hard to get actors, crew, and so on locked up for such a long period.

They bought the script because of some of the ideas, story arcs, and set pieces featured in the script. They then gave them the Wonder Woman writing gig and they had been working with Silver up until this year I believe.

Lobo
04-10-2009, 12:28 PM
^That's correct, they at one point turned in a newer draft, which was set in the present. They're off it now, though.

Still shows that these no name writers can get their foot in the door on comic book properties.

I got two copies. It was just a prelude/teaser that introduced the players in the story arc. It only disclosed what was already know from the current storylines (Final Crisis, Green Lanter, and Green Lantern Corps). We still know very little about the Indigo Tribe (Indigo Lanterns) nor the Black Lanterns.

"Confirmed" Black Lanterns: Kal-L, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Elongated Man, Sue Dibny, Firestorm and Batman.

Is that right?

Their names were hinted at in Blackest Night #0. The only characters that I would truly say were confirmed were Earth-2 Superman (http://dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=11569) and Martian Manhunter (http://dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=11980), since the comic did display their character figures in a DC-Direct advertisement.

So Hal and Kyle will basically have to fight their former Justice League pals?
Grim....

Why do I feel this thing will end with an epic reboot where DC essentially restarts the universe?

If Lobo ever actually gets made, they'll probably cast Vin Diesel

Mark Calaway

I was actually thinking Mark (The Undertaker) Calaway.

Kevin Levin

Now if they were going to make a Ben 10 movie, I would choose you, Lobo, to play Kevin Levin because you kind of look like him.

Thanks, and i don't think they'd cast The Undertaker, they'd probably want a name actor to help sell the movie.

Well i just finished watching the animated film. I got to say it was a pretty solid animated film. I enjoyed the look of the characters, and design of the film. The voice acting was top notch. The story and action i thought were very well. Also all the ring constructs in the film by all lanterns were pretty good. I agree with others i seen say online sinestro going evil was a pretty quick turn around, but since it was only like a 90min film they had to compress things to fit. All and all i say a solid 8 out of 10. I just hope once the live action film hits it does just as good with the characters, and story. And hopefully this recent issue with aus shoot can get resolved or it can get moved to another local.

BlackLantern

I liked the movie as well....hope it gets a sequel, Im not hopeful about the live action film as the casting choice was a bit underwhelming

i dont have a problem at all with ryan as hal, he is a solid actor, has a good fan base and appeal which the film needs to attract the general movie viewer.

Maybe the Green Lantern lounge can answer this question for me:

Why the hell do people keep wanting armor? Do they not understand that his ring does pretty much anything?

Drakon
11-05-2009, 01:40 AM
The short answer is that they are not willing to suspend disbelief. Or they just like tacky. I mean, there are people who are still calling for lenses on Batman.

Gilpesh
11-05-2009, 01:43 AM
And yes. I needed to revive the GL lounge to ask that. :awesome:

But yeah, I don't get why they would waste power and concentration on making bulky armor that only hurts them in the long run?

11-05-2009, 01:54 AM

Drakon

Well, the armor isn't a horrible IDEA. But it's pointless, especially for this character. It'd make about as much sense as Superman on earth wearing a suit of armor from the middle ages.

In the climax of the GL film, Hal should loose his ring in a fight but can still defeat the main antagonist because he has faith of the heart. Like in the Fantasia movie where the Jewish kid plays Mickey Mouse.
