IMO Jeremy Renner is the best choice for Guy Gardner

I say Bradley Cooper. IMO, he'd be fantastic.
Wesley Dodds

Scott Caan would also be a really good choice.

Too old.

How do we know though? In the script it doesnt specify, and when I think of a football coach I dont think of some 20 something guy, I think of someone around Denis' age.
cerealkiller182
03-26-2009, 08:08 PM
Denis is like 50 something. The coaches of my high school football team weren't that old, at least the coaches that actually did anything. There would be an old guy who was their becuase of tenure or politics or whatever, the younger guy did more of the work.
Either way it doesnt matter, because what ever silly for-the-fan cameo won't be held true when they go to actually use him. Beast after all was on the TV in the bar in X2, but that wasnt held true. Its a throwaway easter egg.

Yeah, I agree with the random actor being cast for GG in the first, but I think Leary has a chance. He doesnt look that old, really.

Denis Leary will always be Green Arrow for me though. No matter who ends up being cast. Ron Perlman is to Hellboy, what Denis Leary is to Green Arrow.

I always thought Kiefer Sutherland could make a good GA too.

Ehh, IDK. I like Leary and Cooper a lot more than that, but I wouldnt be dissapointed if he were cast.

How about Henry Rollins (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0738433/) as Guy Gardner?

He played a loud mouthed cop on "The Chase", he played the loud mouthed Mad Stan on Batman Beyond, and a loud mouthed bad guy on Teen Titans, he could play the loud mouthed Green Lantern.
I think this is a recent image from a TV series he is on now:

I long liked Michael Rapaport for the role, but he might be getting too old for it now.
If they wanna go younger, since he ended up not being Hal.... Bradley Cooper for Guy!

Jeremy Renner is such a perfect choice IMO, I find it strange that people still suggest other actors.

That's because we all have our own opinions on the matter, CK; Your choice may be just as strange to us.

I know what opinions are. That is why I included "in my opinion" (IMO) in my post. I was only expressing my opinion through hyperbole. Theres no need to be defensive. One of my biggest pet peeves is being explained what an opinion is every time my own opinion directly differs others.

I didnt think I was; In fact, I'm a tad surprised by the defensiveness of your post.
You may have noticed that I ended my post with the word 'mate' in an effort to show a certain lightheartedness.
Your response was needlessly abrasive. IMO.

Mate, along with buddy and pal, are used numerous times in sarcastic, argumental remarks. And like I said, it is a pet peeve of mine when people try to explain "opinions" as if I didnt know.

Sound CK. For the record, I wasnt using the term 'mate' in the sarcastic or argumental sense, but merely as a way of establishing a fimiliarity with you.
You've so read my intent wrong it's untrue.
I'm gonna end this one now and leave as, while your'e normally cool and all, at the moment you just appear to be being deliberatly confrontational.
Enjoy the thread.

John C. McGinley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001525/) as Guy Gardner, he too is great at playing macho loud mouths. But he too is around 50.

Christopher Reeve is Superman.
Sean William Scott is Stiffler.

Not to the same success or to as wide an audience as him as Guy
that's just him bein type cast again. that's exactly wat i was sayin before just because in the majority of the movies he played in he plays a character like guy people think he should play him. he would make an even better kyle. it doesnt matter what his success was he still did a really good job so y does it make a difference. there are alot of people who could play guy but there really arent that many that could play kyle.

First of all, I was only responded to your post where you said people SHOULD see him as Kyle because he played Kyle like characters as well, and I was telling you why they havent cause most probably actually havent seen those performances.
Second. I dont think Seann should play Kyle. I think he definitely has some dramatic talent, but he seems very insincere in Kyle like roles. Overly awkward and naive. He's also the same age as Ryan and by the time they actually use Kyle he could possibly in his 40s. I also dont see that much of a resemblance either.
I think their are plenty of possibilites for Kyle, they just so happen to not be as many for Kyle as Guy. My personal favorite is Niall Matter but he'll never get cast cause hes only 6 years younger than Ryan and by the time they are ready to cast Kyle, which I'm willing to bet in all likeliness will be in a reboot some years from now, is going to be someone we havent heard of yet or is still a young actor
i never said anything about thinkin that alot of people SHOULD see him as kyle im just sayin that there is way more to seann than just playin some ******* (even though there's alot more to guy than that), thats wat most people think of when they think of guy and thats basically the only reason y they see sws as guy and not kyle. i know not alot of people have seen him do any serious acting. if they were to cast kyle right now sean would be perfect. i really dont see the problem with his look other than the obvious, but that could be changed. he also looks younger than he is and would still be able to pull of somebody who is still just maybe between 21 and 23 years old.

I'm liking Jeremy Renner for Guy. Apparently he is brilliant in The Hurt Locker. And he has that wise ass attitude.
But in all honesty I thought Reynolds was PERFECT for Guy Gardner. I don't need to mention his attitude because everyone already knows that Reynolds is naturally a sarcastic, loud mouth. But he even looks a bit like Gardner, much more than Hal IMO.
Scott Caan for Guy Gardner
