Apparently, we're getting some kind of mixture of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo. But, while Whiplash is a relatively simple character, there have been over TEN FREAKING CRIMSON DYNAMOS! ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Dynamo )

So which version are they pulling from?

There have been a dozen Crimson Dynamos, but they're all relatively the same. Russian guy in red armor who shoot electricity blasts

I hope they don't make the villian a crimson dynamo/whiplash combo.Whiplash needs to be his own character. If they want to mix cd with anyone imo it should be omega red

Why? Omega Red is a much more established character than Whiplash.

By "combining Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo" I just assume the character is going to be Whiplash, eventually donning the CD armor.

I think they're creating the own since the trades have reported a few times that Rourke's character is named Ivan. And none of the wearers of the CD armor in the comics where named that.

Personally, I'm hoping that movie Whiplash is essentially Mark Scott with a change in nationality, and the CD elements being that he's a Russian guy who has his own armor with whips.

Mark scarlotti is whiplash .Imo the character needs to be played out more true to the comic( pre s&m fiasco ) I think he should play a Justin Hammer thug. Keep him out of any cd armor or implications.
