I'm stunned Raimi even knows who Carnage is. Probably knows him from researching Venom for SM-3.

There are a couple places in that article where they left out words from sentences.
It doesn't really sound like Carnage has anything to do with SM4 and I think he's referring to that proposed Venom spin-off.
Carnage wouldn't work in a PG-13 movie without major retooling.

If Carnage was in Spider-Man 4...
pretty sure he'd be doing the tango.

lol @ carnage and his tendrils doing the tango, he would have many dance partners at least.... sighs... good luck with spider man 4...
Carnage wouldn't work in a PG-13 movie without major retooling. If TDK's Joker could pass off as a PG-13-Ok villain, then I'm sure Carnage could be terrifying and brutal...
but then again these are completely different movies. The idea though, of Carnage racking up kills around NYC and Spidey bent on bringing him down sounds amazing. But not for the next movie though.

They are not talking about SM4 directly but the Venom spin-off.
Still though, this counts as SM4 rumors
TDK actually got away with it in a brilliant way. The music implied the violence that was never seen on screen. Very smart and tasteful.

Joker didn't go around slaughtering people in cold blood with symbiote shaped spikes and axes etc.But Doc Ock did go around a hospital room murdering people with 4 mechanical arms. The most violent scene in the entire Spider-Man series can get even better than that, I think. And you don't need any blood to do it.
Besides, Joker did go around killing cops, and gang leaders, and innocent civilians :hehe:

But you didn't see any of them die in any graphic way. Camera shots always cut away. And alot of it was tossing surgeons around the room like rag dolls. The two most graphic parts were the nails scraping the floor, and that surgeon being pinned to the wall.
How are you going to do Carnage killing people with symbiote axes and spikes without it getting graphic?

There was nothing graphic about it. The pencil trick was as bad as it got.

I doubt Sam will have a Spider-Man movie feature a crazed, blood-soaked, mass-murderer.

How are you going to do Carnage killing people with symbiote axes and spikes without it getting graphic?Let the one behind the Evil Dead series figure that one out. :cwink:There was nothing graphic about it. The pencil trick was as bad as it got.I found Joker shooting out the windshield at the random pedestrian when climbing out the truck to be pretty bad too. But that's just me though. It wouldn't have to be graphic at all, no blood has to be shown but maybe potential victims, just the mere fact that Carnage is killing people, Spidey's failed attempts to save lives even when confronting him. It could work in lots of ways in these films, even with a brutal character like him.

Regardless of whether or not Carnage does happen to be in SM-4, the movie would still be fun. I just try to enjoy whatever I get without being a harsh critic, which seems to be a craze these days with everyone. Do this and not that, make every character deep and emotional, ground them in reality, give him or her dimensions, how they relate to other characters...why be so picky? These movies are to be watched by suspending your beliefs in everything logical and sensible. Plus, there's no such thing as impossible with how you go about adding depth to the story or its characters, you put effort in it, you'll get good results.

Carnage is overrated. All he does is kill people for fun. That's it. That's his only motivation if you can call it a motivation. There's not even an explanation on why he kills people. He just does it. Yeah, what a great story huh?
We got the same people who want Carnage so bad are the ones who thought Raimi screwed up Venom. I want to know what makes them think Carnage would get treated any better?

If Raimi had to be begged to use Venom for Spidey 3,a character he didn't understand or care for, then I don't think there's any way in hell he'd even consider Carnage for any of his films. Brock/Venom have alot of great concept, depth and story to them. Carnage is just a brutal killer, nothing more.

It's not like there aren't people who want to kill just for the fun of it. These are the people whom if given power, should be feared most. People with great power and no responsibility, are the reason spider-man exists.

My guess is Venom will be released under this new "Marvel Knights" banner that Punisher:WZ was put in for.
Apparantly that's their "Marvel: Rated R" bit, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Ghost Rider 2 in this.
Anyway, do a Venom film here, make it R rated, and how could you resist doing the Carnage storyline? I mean, what else is really known as far as the symbiote storylines go? This is the big one.
Venom: Maximum Carnage
I'd go see that.

For crying out loud, do you have any other "apologies" you want to make for Dearl Ole Sam Mrs. Raimi? I know Mother's Day is coming up, but Geez, give us a break on the love of your son here. :woot:
The point is, and continues to be, these type of behaivors shows Sam did, does not, and never will, understand the character. And showed a total lack of professionalism if he even "hints' at the defense "I was foreced to use Venom". To his credit, he has only hinted or implied that, to this point to my knowledge. But IMO, he should take the bullet on this one and in no way try to pass the buck.
HE fell short on the characters of Venom/Brock/Symbiote/Black Spider-Man. He, and HE ALONE... should take full responsibility, wheter it is a truely shared blame or not.

Carnage would be such a bad idea... even Venom was a waste... Arad forced Venom in the movie on Raimi... Raimi was pretty pissed about it. Look at his interview lately when he said that he got total control... You could tell that the Vemon stuff was really an after thought... it didn't blend very well into SM3.... I hope they can pull this off... I was very disappointed in SM3... but then many franchises loose steam... you can only tell so many stories without a fresh approach

Yah, I watched it....
One scene is of course, Wolverine at the Japanese bar, but I saw that on the leaked version...but when I went to see it Saturday night, the new scene after the credits was about Deadpool.
The sword went back into his arm, and we see that his arm was cut off and it crawls over to Deadpool's decapitated head, and the stitching on his mouth is now off as the hand pets Deadpool's head, and Deadpool opens his mouth and says "ssshhh".
It was creepy, funny, cool...and excites me to see a Deadpool movie.
And am pretty sure it was Reynold's voice and not the guy who portrayed as Deadpool in the end.

Scott Adkins as Weapon XI....that's from wikipedia....I know it was most likely Reynold's voice at the end, but Adkins did play XI during the battle scene, and possibly Ryan played him when just walking towards Wolverine, etc.
But a Deadpool movie has been confirmed, so I'm psyched, although we might not see the suit because they said about detailing Deadpool's origins, and not what came after Wolverine.

I have. And I still believe Venom spin off will not happen. Movies stay in development limbo for years and are eventually scrapped.
Venom cannot carry a movie on his own. He's too shallow a character. He only works [barely] as a villain to Spidey. That's the entire basis of his being.
