The "Donnie Darko" tube-thingy leading it's way around the Earth, with a voice over - a la Orsen Wells - the voice saying "the end is nigh, and He is coming back," etc, etc.

The tube-thingy touched down on a random continent and the Earth lit up, from dark to light - instantly.

The voice said "a return is imminent. The Earth WILL die."

Yo, Titan...I see we have retired the 'Zupcat' .jpg for good, eh? Saddens me deeply.

I've just been immersed in my schoolwork and the new girlfriend in my ilfe. Feeling like I need to try and devote more of my time to this place once again, because although my life is very well balanced, I can't just leave a very important core group of people out of it altogether. It just feels wrong.

It's my opinion that he casts the leads, as "leads," and the rest as a supporting cast.

I like movies with a variety; but most, that have several major stars, seems to over-saturate the movie.

For example, imagine "The Prestige," a simple Fall movie, with two major starlets, rather than the two in the movie.

It seems he likes to make movies, rather than to have a "star-studded-cast," to insure said movie success.

Maggie was good, but Rachel was never a very strong character to begin with.

Rebecca Hall did a good job with Sarah Borden in The Prestige, but same thing there. Scarlett Johansson's character was pretty much an afterthought anyway. :funny:

The Nolans haven't really written a strong female character yet. Natalie from Memento was probably the closest.

Mainly for the word choice. Moss is type-cast, in my opinion. Swank is a great actress.

I'm baffled by the notion that for a sport to require athleticism one must constantly be in motion. Also, ever caught. Baseball is arguably the most difficult sport to excel in b/c one can't simply rely on sheer speed and strength. Hitting a baseball is the hardest facet of any sport.

Not saying you were bad, or disagreeing, because I get the "stand there" idea.

But I had fun, playing Baseball. But I played second base and/or left field, and rarely got "out," when I stole bases.

I enjoyed the taunting. I could run fast, and get down, to slide, quickly. Pitcher's and Catcher's hated me, mainly because I was a little git, and - I guess - said persons thought they could "get me out," with ease.

Heh, at least with baseball, you can run and stuff. That's like, 70% of baseball. Same with figure skating - even if you can't do triple jumps or spins, most people can learn crossovers and that's about 70% of ice time too.

Have you ever dove to catch a ball? Have you ever hit a triple? Have you ever made a throw on a hard grounder from Third to First to get an out? Have you ever stole a base? Have you ever caught?

All of theses things are exciting and fast paced. Catching can be terrible if you have a bad Pitcher on the mound, But it takes a lot of work to dive to your left and right to catch wild curveballs.

I played Football and Baseball; so I thought Gymnastics would be simple.

I was wrong.

Senior year, a friend took me to his gym, and should be BASIC maneuvers. If he showed me ten, I could do - maybe - two.

His reasoning, and not damning the sports I played, was that I was untrained in muscles I never dreamed of using.

For example, next time any of you are at a park, jump on the rings and try to hold yourself up in the "cross" position.

Or even simplier, have a friend hold your feet, so you are standing on your hands, and try and crank out ten push-ups. Diff-I-cult.

Not saying you were bad, or disagreeing, because I get the "stand there" idea.

But I had fun, playing Baseball. But I played second base and/or left field, and rarely got "out," when I stole bases.

I enjoyed the taunting. I could run fast, and get down, to slide, quickly. Pitcher's and Catcher's hated me, mainly because I was a little git, and - I guess - said persons thought they could "get me out," with ease.
i don't trash talk in serious competition. if i want to shoot the **** i'll **** the ****, but when it's time to go it's business faces all around. i'll admit i wasn't great, but i was on par-ish with most of the guys out there. most of my hate for basebll comes from the poor work ethic of the players. everywhere i've ever played they always want to work out with the football team because "we're the baseball team and we can do anything you can" and not ONCE have i seen one of them make through an entire phase of a workout before taking a break

Heh, at least with baseball, you can run and stuff. That's like, 70% of baseball. Same with figure skating - even if you can't do triple jumps or spins, most people can learn crossovers and that's about 70% of ice time too.

Gymnastics...it's all crazy. I have no idea how one learns the flips and stuff.

Not according to some people here. It's all just standing around they say, which if you are actually doing chances are you suck, or are not playing at a very high level. Watch a pro game. Everyone on the feild is moving on every pitch.

Ok. Fine. So you're standing there knowing exactly where it's coming (90mph fastball right), and oops...80 mph 12-6 curveball, or 85 mph slider that at first looks like it's going to hit you and then crosses for a strike.

I guess this is just a difference in opinons. Still, a good thing to do, even when people are being struck out. Pick one player on the field and watch them for an entire inning. They move somewhere on every pitch, focusing on the situation and what they are going to do if they get the ball and where they are headed if they dont.

Yeah I mentioned the first part and he ignored the possibility, and I'm with you on the second part. Some people just don't like the sport, but to say it doesn't require athleticism or is easy is just offensive. I have grown up with baseball and I will always defend it. and i couldn't genuinely give a rat's ass if it bothers you. the only real athletic baseball players i've ever known play it as a second sport. my roommate of two years had serious offers to some nice d1 schools for baseball but went to a d2 for football because baseball was too grabasstic for him. had a good buddy who played line backer walk away from the mlb draft for the same reason (and because the mlb set up is weird what with the farmhouse leages and all that)
