Doctor Doom

I know there is a Lizard thread already in use, but I would like to see the numbers of which Lizard you would want to see;

A mindless savage Lizard that acts like a reptile
An intelligent Lizard that is as cold as his blood
An intelligent Lizard that occasionally goes into a mindless frenzy
Other (please explain)

I voted "Smart that can go savage" because if he's just smart, he's too much like Doc Ock.

And besides, we're all hoping for a scene when the Lizard goes into a mindless frenzy on Spidey.

I agree. In the beginning of his transformation, Connors should still maintain control over himself and act human, while his skins are turning to green scales. Then, once he feels overwhelmed (angry, upset, etc), he should start transforming into the mindless, vicious, violent, and crazy Lizard. So, in other words, the Lizard will be smart like in STAS, and dangerous like in TSSM.

I want totally savage. I want Connors to have no control over his transformation.
I want a brainless, inconsequent and ferocious beast, like the Spectacular one.

I vote Savage or at least with his insticts in almost complete control i would like to see that hes not mindless and that Conners is still in there some where but kinda like the hulk how he not brainless but is ruled by his insticts and emotions

IMO, smart that can go savage. It would be creepy, but also fantastic as well. The reason it would be creepy, but in a good way, is because he would be very smart, but also, he can be VERY powerful and monster like.

I agree. ^

I don't want some jackass Lizard like in Friend or Foe.

I don't want a mindless monster either. I want a smart/savage.

Ideally I'd like to see the movie start out with a ferocious, savage lizard that acts on pure instinct, and then as the movie draws on, we could see him gradually begin to recover components of his intelligence. This would make the final act more intriguing as now Spiderman is not just dealing with a brutish adversary, but someone who is his intellectual match.

Logcially speaking though, I suppose it would make more sense to see Connors lose parts of himself (his intelligence, his basic humanity), the longer he stays in his altered reptilian state. -- the crux being of course that I don't think it would make the final confrontation as dramatic.

I don't want Baker's voice coming from him, might I add.

I want a smart yet savage lizard. Also would you guys be upset if Raimi used the current Lizard storyline where it turns out that Connors knows what he's doing all along and just uses the lizard as a front? I don't think it would work in the movie but what do you think?

I prefer Connors to be a good man, with the Lizard being his dark side.

That's a good question.
I'm used with the Lizard being an evil transformation coming from a good guy. I think I'll stick with that.

I think in 4 it would be good to have Connors as a good man but in later movies maybe have him finally embrace it after he kills Kraven or something.

Smart that can go savage, just because it seems like the typical Lizard to me.

I voted "savage", because "smart" could mean that the lizard would be able to speak.

Smart, can talk..but gets more savage the longer he remains as the Lizard. Much like on TAS.

He needs to be incredibly intense, scary, and look very much like a lizard, only much, much larger. I want him to be fast, vicious, and nearly mindless.

I want Dr. Connors to become more and more animal like with each transformation. Start out maintaining his speech and memory, but slowly digressing into a frightening beast.

Personally, I'd rather not see a talking Lizard. I'd rather see The Lizard just be a dumb brute, only able to convey emotions with an extreme.

My sentiments exactly, a talking Lizard is cool for cartoons and the comics and such, but I don't see it working out too well onscreen.

I do feel a savage Lizard is more for me but a smart and savage is an intresting idea....I just hope he doesn't talk.

I want to see him talk. He has the capability of being really creepy if he does.

Plus I'm looking forward to his usual "Reptilesss are sssuperior to mammalsss..." schpeel.

I personally would like to see him talk also, but you have to think about what a non comic fan will think and my is guess unless the Lizard talking is done perfect they'll probably think "are you f***ing kidding? me this is stupid". So for the movie I'd say make the Lizard a savage intelligent creature and if he does talk he should speak like a smarter more reptilian version of Golem from LOTR.

i feel the best way to handle the lizard would be if they were to show him in different forms of his transformation. if he were to just change into the lizard we all know from the comics it woudlnt' leave much for the imagination.
the best way i feel to approach the lizard is if he injects himself and grows his arm back, then starts to get scales and slowly show signs of trasnformation. if he looks like his original appearance in amazing spider-man at first, with human qualities still intact, that'd be cool cuz it'd be believable for him to still talk, but definetly show his feral side coming through. then have him go full on transformation and there not being any signs of his humanity left. i wouldnt' want to see him talking if he is going to have a snout and a forked tongue and rows of razor-sharp teeth, it'd kinda take away from the drama of what is happening to him. i dont' want him to be a walking dinosaur that talks. perhaps once he is in full transformation the most, past growling and hissing, i would want him to say is hissing parts of words and thats it

COMPO

would be cool if it was mixed like one minute he'd be smart but then he'd have a savage moment were he is slowly losing himself to the monster and he throuhg out the movie is tryning ot find away to get himself back without losing himself to his monster until finally he does and spider-man has to take him down.

I want a downright evil mofo as the Lizard. I'm saying evil savage. I want a guy that knows what he's doing, but isn't intelligent. Not dumb like the Hulk, but not intelligent. Basically a Lizard who rarely talks, but when he does it's pure evil. I want to hate the villain this time around. I want to hate the Lizard hating humans. We can feel sorry for Dr. Connors all we want, but when he's the Lizard I want to wish somebody to put a bullet in his brain.

Have the Lizard not talk, just like on "Spectacular Spider-Man",it works out good. This will give spidey the spotlight to talk more, more jokes, and maybe even hear what he's thinking...

Smart that can go savage; the best villains pose a threat to Spidey physically and challenge his intellect.

I think the lizard should have three seperate personalities.
*Curt Connors
*mindless-Animal
*The shadow self or dark side of conners that personifies itself as a sentient reptile

Curt connors is a good person and not a criminal/villain, this is the human part of him trapped within the lizards body and dominated by the other two personas. The part Spidey sees and wants to save. At times when the Conners persona surfaces temporarilly, the lizard will recognize people/places from his memories, become less hostile and maybe pronounce single words or sentence fragments.

When he enters his mindless animal phazes, he is just a savage lizard with no human personality traits. He doesn't speak, or attempt to communicate through body language nor show any interest or concern for human life or technology. This persona can still access some memories from connors brain, but due to limited reasoning ability, he can only use them for navigating and basic tasks.

The dark reptile side believes in its own superiority and has its own desire to survive that is independant from connors. In this state the lizard will also make calculated decisions that seem 'evil' and completely out of character for connors. This persona has a greater access to connors memories and can even exploit them enough to assemble machines and interact with tools, devices. While in this state the lizard will recognize people/surroundings and also be capable of saying single words, sentence fragments. But as I said he will not be Curt Connors at these times and has a hatred for humans.

i voted savage because i don't want him to talk and i want him to be brutal. but it would be a nice twist if spiderman underestimates his intelligence because of his inability to talk, but than learns the hard way the he's a cunning fighter. (kinda like the raptors in the Jurassic park series.)
