It looks like today and tomorrow the first scenes for Iron Man 2 will be shot at the Pasadena Masonic Temple (http://www.emasons.org/PMT/main.htm).
Found this information on the City of Pasadena's official website:

Late last year it was revealed that Rasputin is been used as the working production title for IM2 (http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/12/12/cameron-crowes-deep-tiki-postponed-iron-man-2s-production-title/).Just like Rory's First Kiss was used for The Dark Knight or Red Sun with Superman Returns.

Anyone care to speculate on what this could possibly be for in the movie, based on what characters we know are in it? C'mon, I want to see some speculatin'!:woot:

My wild guess? Parts of the 1st floor look like they could be part of the interior of an older mansion. Maybe Hammer's place?

^Looks like that's what it is since Shandling has been reported to have done his scenes yesterday. He's most likely the "Senator" and the temple with it's roman-style columns is likely standing in for someplace in DC.

The Senator angle maybe right on, even though iesb.net reports Shandling is playing a reporter. jfxonline shows video of Shandling on set and he's wearing a nice suit with an American flag pin on his lapel which most politicans wear.
The interior is most like a senator's office.

iesb.net reports Shandling will be playing a Character named Senator Stern.
Any news today about filming? I am dieing to know about anything.
I am leaving for 10 days tomorrow and I wont have any internet access. So I wont know about anything going on. And it's going to kill me if they film in Santa Monica if I am not there to see it.

If there are extras and he is blowing things up, doesn't that mean he is outside filming?

Possibly, depends on the size of the explosion. Also it could be on a outside backlot somewhere that we'll not get any spy footage from.

I think the principal shooting are in the Raleigh Studios.
Do we have any ideas where they are filming for the exterior scenes?
Or if they are going to be filming in the Santa Monica,Ca area again? Cuz if they are I am so getting spy photos for you guys.

Don't have a friend in the IM2 movie department.But if i do happen to see news regarding locations i'll post it.
Some new possible info on where they might be shooting (more 2nd unit?) courtesy of Canon Rumors. Wonder what this is for?:o

I’ve received informormation from a few folks that the new 5D Mark II firmware is on location on the Iron Man 2 set. Apparently the cameras are in Morocco at the moment.

btw you know how iron man 2 was filming over at masonic temple early this month. i went there late april talked to secruity told them i knew rdj (total lie, my mom used to) and he told me that they were they were filiming upstairs(not at the moment, but when they were there) and that they would be back to finish up but he doesnt know when so.......... ill keep check.

From yesterday
We've received a report about Iron Man 2 shooting at Edwards Airforce Base: "Filming began today. RDJ and Gwyneth were not here though. Not sure if anyone else was. They're supposed to be here tomorrow. Filmed near the base operations building using a bunch of T-38s, a couple of Global Hawks, a B-52, a C-17, a C-130 and a B-2, all sitting on the ground."

Second day, second report about the Edwards AFB shoot: "Not much to add to yesterday's filming. Don Cheadle and Sam Rockwell are on set. I was wrong about RDJ and Gwyneth being on set today. They're coming in tomorrow."

Just did some scoping out of the site
It's a rock concert held by Tony Stark. There is backstage filming as well.
Man, that place is so secure I couldn't get anywhere close. But I did see some cranes.

Okay I just found out that they are going to be filming over at the Sepelvida dam, on Monday and Tuesday night and it does involve extra work.
I'll try on Monday to scope it out for everyone. But no guarantees.
EDIT: Also found out that I guess they are doing a EXPO scene that was filmed on Wednesday, and they are ONLY calling back those people that were extras in the scene.
Actors in the scene were:
Cops, Valet, waiters, night club people.
Sounds like something is going down if cops were in the scene. Intriguing...:im:
