Other forums are doing it, so why not the Spidey forums? Let's liven it up! Take that Tusi lounge :cmad:

Anyways for those of you unfamiliar with a lounge, it is an off-topic discussion thread. You may discuss anything you want in here. Want to say how much your day sucked? Go right ahead. Hate goat cheese? That's fine too! Even talk about Spider-Man if you want. It's all good in here!

Let the discussion begin

Compliments of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Fan :spidey:

Hopefully Elizabeth Banks actually returns for the 4th film. Didn't she say if she didn't have a big enough role this time around, she won't be back?

NewYorkSpider
04-08-2009, 12:22 AM
I think she said that after SM2 was made. She eventually ended up doing it. I'd like to see her come back with a bigger role.

Spider-Fan
04-08-2009, 12:42 AM
I think SM4 may be better off with a smaller scale movie. 1 villain and less supporting cast. Maybe 2 villains.

Since SM3 was overcrowded, SM4 needs to show it is less involved, but still awesome

NewYorkSpider
04-08-2009, 12:46 AM
I wouldn't mind them using one villian(The Lizard). I also wouldn't mind if they introduced Max Dillion and set him up to become Electro in SM5.

Spider-Fan
04-08-2009, 12:52 AM
The villains I'd love to see most of the ones left in SM4 or SM5 would be Lizard, Mysterio, Kraven, and Hobgoblin

Mysterio is so underrated.

I would love to see HobGoblin. A lot of people don't want him because of the whole Osborn/Goblin triology. He's by far my favorite villian in the Spider-Man universe.

I would like to see them set up Electro for SM5 or see him as a villian in SM4. The story in Spectacular Spider-Man makes sense, with maybe a little bit switched around. Max and Dr. Connors are friends in SSM.

no, the green goblin's lack of a plot and doc ock's crappy characterization sucked...

Today it was confirmed that Sting will be the new Spidey 4 villain.

http://www.martinlawrence.com/scavullo/scavullo-lg/Sting.jpg

Here's a brief synopsis from the official site:

"After a falling out with The Police, Sting enacts his revenge on the people who wronged him and it's up to your friendly neighborhood webslinger to stop him... if he can get over a devastating loss."

Sounds like Captain Stacey will be biting the dust in this one!

they're far less than not perfect. that's why spiderman 3 is my favorite of the series, it doesn't shy away from it's zanniness and camp. the others are just as poorly developed as 3 was but are treated as cinematic achievements.

I agree with you on GG not having a plan in SM1, but I liked SM2 Ock. While the chip thing is maybe a flaw, he had the Ock persona and the humor. I loved it

that's not even my problem with doc ock. the problem is instead of a villian they made him an anti-hero. the movie would have been fine had he not turned coat in the final battle.

scorpion, lizard, rhino, and vulture

i figure toomes kidnaps conners to work on animal research mcguffins and the two of them create the other two who are used as underling/cameo villians. in the finale conners goes lizard and pete has to talk him down from that

A more interesting scenario...

Peter tries to talk some sense into Otto and appeal to the man he still believes to be behind the machine. Ock grabs him and instead of relenting, reveals that the so called inhibitor chip had been working at full capacity all along...then attempts to throw Peter's spider-ass into that giant, flaming fusion reactor.

Thus helping to eliminate the terrible idea of talking/mind controlling tentacles and keeping Ock's crazy bastard status intact.

Agreed.

In response to Gingy's question...With the exception of the Sandman, all the villains that have appeared in the films have had massive makeovers. That in conjunction with Mr. Raimi's apparent hard-on for giving all of his actors plenty of face-time...I believe it's entirely possible that they might try to work around the fish bowl...or at least have it cracked, knocked off or destroyed halfway through a battle (you know it'll happen).

I think he should wear it though. He's just not Mysterio without it...

guys i have a dilema or however you spell it lol but ive been collecting dvd's for 7 years and i started with Spider-Man lol and i barely have 561 but with Blu Ray startin to be big and dvd wont die anytime soon and i have a problem. now, i am gonna buy most of not all the superhero movies again on blu, i started today with Spidey 3 but i DO NOT want to start a collection, not till Dvd dies but this problem now comes to disney and animated films i want to start getting those too on blu, because honestly the point of blu is for animated and action/superhero, who the heck would watch a drama on blu? lol but here is the question, Disney Dvds always comes out on Platinum (older) and i have a pretty good disney collection but with movies like the new sleeping beauty, should i still get that on the platinum dvd? cause i have the special edition of the movie, or just get it on Blu, plus it comes with a dvd. what do you think? plus Pinocchio i have already on Dvd and should i get it on blu and start that collection as well? or just stick to dvd?

help?

Spider-Fan

I've just recently started purchasing movies on Blu Ray. The $30 price tag on many of these movies is a bit of a deterrent, but honestly, it's worth it IF you watch the right movie.

For instance, Iron Man on Blu Ray is worth every penny spent. Incredible.

I like first of all, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown (yeah, I still like both of them) and Hip Hop/ Rap and R&B. Then I like general Pop music, all oldies, some rock and I'm starting to like... no... appreciate country music. I like most anything with a guitar. I can kinda play and I love to dance.

TDK was the movie that made me decide to go Blu-Ray. I bought the DVD and noticed that, on a 1080p TV, the IMAX sequences were especially distorted.

Normally a DVD has a bit of distortion due to the 480p being stretched to be on a 1080p screen but with TDK it was almost painful to watch during these sequences: The Bank Robbery, Hong Kong, Harvey in the transport

The more movies use IMAX as a format, the more we will see people buying blu-ray. I'm not refering to 35mm being converted to IMAX but scenes actually shot on IMAX.

That being said, I am somewhat curious to see SM3 on blu-ray, I would like to know if the blacks have more definition as its especially hard to enjoy the Venom/Sandman scene on DVD.

Aesop Rock, Buck 65, Atmosphere, KRS-One, Jurassic 5, Coheed And Cambria, Oh Sleeper, The Receiving End Of Sirens, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, Dilated Peoples, Anberlin, Justin Timberlake, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Zao, Killswitch Engage, Led Zeppelin, Wu-Tang Clan, Norma Jean, Triumph, Avenged Sevenfold, Sage Francis, The Showdown, Jedi Mind Tricks...just to name a few, haha.

I have about ten CD cases full. And when I did have MySpace, I had them all layed out alphabetically.

:)

And I never got the "Nirvana rocks" vibe from listening to them. They're nothing special, imo.

Well his lyrics were never that great.

It's funny because Simpsons pretty much made fun of them.

Homer just said a sentence and people were like "this music is amazing!!!".

I'm more into lyrics that make you think then just music to back it up.

ANyway, I'm working on a fan fic called No Room In Hell. It's a horror story, but I won't reveal what it's about. Unless you want me to. I just got done deciding who the characters are and what they are like.

I've just recently started purchasing movies on Blu Ray. The $30 price tag on many of these movies is a bit of a deterrent, but honestly, it's worth it IF you watch the right movie.

For instance, Iron Man on Blu Ray is worth every penny spent. Incredible.

see i've been considering going blu-ray for a while, and upgrading my pretty-much-done-for PS2 to either a PS3 or was gonna all out on a X-Box 360. What's the difference between HD dvd and Blu-ray anyway, i've heard blu-ray quailty is alto better than that of a blu-ray? any thoughts?

Your lucky your price tag is only $30, i live in the UK and for a standard blu-ray is around £25, though it use to be like close to £40 when they first came out. :csad:

I'd love to Spider-Man and tDK in Blu-ray though.

yes but x-box 360 plays HDDVD :p, but thanks for clearing that up. and i was asking if there was much difference especially considering the price difference between the X-Box360 and the PS3, which brings up a new discussion, which do you guys think is better?

tbh the only reason i'd get a PS3 would be to watch blu-ray dvd's or playback recordings from my camcorder (means i can play 60p AVCHD in full HD quality) more than actually play games...which undoubtedly i would love to but i doubt when id actually have any time too.
