The latest episode should drop to you later on today! Here's some of the topics covered:

"Terminator: Salvation" goes PG-13
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" breaks out early
Sam Raimi Talks "Spider-Man 4 and 5"
The trailer for "Batman: Arkham Asylum"
"Iron Man 2" updates
Upcoming DVD and Blu-ray releases

Also, we at the Hype! Cast wish to thank one of YOU for joining us on the podcast this time around. (We won't say who; it's a surprise) Anyone else who would like to join us as a guest host, simply contact Malice, Immortalfire, or myself at our respective e-mail addresses. Minimum requirements are as follows:

Latest version of Skype (PC or Mac)
USB Microphone or other audio interface (please, no internal microphones!)
Decent internet connection

We are in discussion on making the show live and more frequent (once a week, maybe?) in an attempt to make the show more fluid, more accessible, and more interactive. We will keep you updated as to the latest developments.

And, as always, Download and Enjoy!

Also, I'd like to post a quick correction and some new info before the show drops. First, the street date for "Batman: Arkham Asylum" is June 23rd, not June 5th as I previously stated. Second, the Collector's Edition is available for pre-order for a whopping 99 dollars US. For the extra scratch, you will get a character encyclopedia, a behind-the-scenes DVD (with interviews featuring Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill) and a genuine 14" Batarang!

Sadly, the Batarang comes with a stand permanently attached to it, presumably to prevent some idiot from chucking it at your head. My boyhood dreams have been ruined.

I think you guys fell for the news about Spider-Man 4 & 5. The article I found revealing Lizard and Kraven for the movies were posted on April 1st! :woot: Great episode otherwise.

Yup, Raimi came out and said that he hasn't been approched for Spider-man 5.

Up next on The Hype! Cast: Dewey Defeats Truman!

That's my bad. They didn't cite a source on the radio, either. So I'll be taking everything Bracken says with a grain of salt now, and we'll try to vet our news stories as much as we can.

I was gonna say something about SM4 and SM5 news not being real but I really don't know why I didn't. I guess I was a little bashful ahahaha. I really enjoyed it guys, thanks for the experience. I'd love to come back whenever.

I'm buying a new podcasting microphone soon, and I'd love to come on some time if you guys are up for it.

We'd enjoy your company on the show, Marko! If you can have your mic by next Monday, we can try to bring you in to the next episode.

I'd love to join you guys as a guest host but the lack of webcam/mic and Skype are only a few problems. The other being the crazy time difference. Also I'm really shy and probably wouldn't say more than two words.

In your out takes you "fight" over times zones and Malice says Central is called Central coz it's Central to the universe (or something along those lines). GMT should be the true Central then, it's what all others are measured off of.

I said that right after where we cut it off. That was our discussion before recording. The thing with RDJ's b-day was an outtake though.

Um no...Central Time IS the real Time!
We all know that...admit it!

The Skype problem is easy to solve, seeing as it's a free download. Also, any USB microphone will suffice to record with. Just as an example, I'm using the USB mic that came with my copy of "Rock Band", and until I got my radio station boom-arm, I was doing the show with the mic balanced on a CD Drawer and an iPhone case. The password is: MacGyver-ed.

The time difference is a bigger issue. I'm only available to record the show at nights, but if we can swing a weekend show (which we have done in the past) that will cease to be a problem. So, if you can get yourself a mic, we'd love to get you on the show sometime!

Finally listened to the show last night (Easter has messed up my listening schedule).

I'm gonna say this was the best one I have listened to yet.

Multi-cultural! At last, woo hoo. Anything that makes Americans consider the fact that the RoTW exists is great in my book.

About people who download/pirate things. I think you guys under-estimated the problem. I think it is fair to say that SHH posters and listeners to the podcast will probably go see the film regardless. But there are people out there who never go to the cinema, never buy music, never buy a dvd, never buy a comic even, all because they can download them for free. (A friend of mine being one of them, he offered me the film on the 2nd of April). Then you have those with no interest in the film, but who love the thrill of having a big blockbuster weeks before release. Not to mention the genuine criminal underworld who make money from piracy and counterfeit goods (at least here in the Uk they do).

About Comic book games. Both Spider-man (PS1), Spider-man 2 (2004) and the recent Web of Shadows were all decent comic book games. And I assume Malice was talking about the 32bit onwards era, since there were quite a few decent 16-bit games in the time of the SNES and Mega Drive (that's Genesis for you colonials)

Also, the suicide story was done a tad disrespectfully, with the gunshot sound effects and what not. But i am a lot closer to that subject so maybe it was just me.

Gonna be multi-cultural again when I come on! :) Back-to-back Canucks!

Yeah, they mentioned that the people were going to either never go see it, or they would see it anyways. On the topic of the black market, I spent 2 years in the Philippines, and it was crazy what you could find there (in plain sight on the street). When X-Men 3 came out, I picked up a copy the day before it came out, and they had DVDs that had 6 or so movies on each disc, for around $3.

On the topic of Wolverine, however, you guys said you couldn't understand why somebody would want to watch it. I've seen it, and I personally consider it somewhat of a collector's item. I love watching all the "Making of" featurettes in movies, so this was a great piece. It wasn't really stunning as a blockbuster (simply because a large portion of special effects were still missing), but as a view into the movie making process it was excellent. I will definately be seeing it opening weekend.

I would definately be interested in being on an episode. The interview I did with HSF at NYCC was fun.
