sweet. i wonder how many people of the general public will think war machine is the villain - some kind of evil iron man

A lot, I'm sure. I bet a handful will also think that they're going a Spider-Man 3 route with it, making Tony go all dark and groovy.

This poster is awesome and I'm ecstatic to see WM featured as well, although I have a feeling that some people will think that it'd be Stark on both suits a la Spider-man 3. I hope we will get an official trailer soon.

But I think many people are aware of war machine though. But lets be fair the war machine armor was always starks.

I don't think many people will assume that happens in the movie. But, there will be some assuming going on after seeing this poster, no doubt.

Movies can be so predictable and cliche, and by now people know this. So I bet everybody not familiar with War Machine will assume that Tony goes evil and dons a black suit, or that War Machine is the main villain, because that is how it is in almost every movie where there is a black/darker version of the main character.

A little bit of both, I'm guessing. He'll probably fight Iron Man at some point in the film, then see the error in his ways and team up with him to take on the REAL bad guys in the finale.

anyone know which version of the armor it is in the poster, because the chest area looks slightly different the the one in empire magazine, that makes 3 versions i have seen not including thre triangle chest plate

It all Mark 4, the main armor Tony will wear throughout the movie.

Then near the end Tony will swap out his circular arc reactor for a triangle one. That will be called the Mark 5.

I like the look of War Machine, but that is one seriously creatively bankrupt poster design. It's far too cartoony-looking and Photoshop-plagued. Iron Man and War Machine look like their either going to stage an Old West-style "Draw!" contest or break into a hair metal dueling guitar solo.

Should the outcome really depend on who's got the better suit though? I wouldn't mind when Rhodes has the upper hand, but acknowledges Tony's superior suit. "You've got the better tech Tony, but you're still just a rich boy."Tony is still a rich boy? He designed the freaking suit that Rhodes is wearing and everyone is trying to take his suits from him because they cant build one so advanced themselves. Tony is one of the smartest men in the Marvel Universe. All Rhodes did was add a few guns to it.
The thing is that normally Tony would don his hulkbuster and kick his ass, but the point is to show, that the normal IM suit is a very advanced piece of tech that doesnt need the extra bulk or missiles to be effective. IM is the scalpel to WM's chainsaw.
I remember an issue not long ago with Tony talking to himself about Rhodey and admitting that he lets him use his older suits and he keeps the more advanced for himself. Its just how it is.

I am sure the story will be like the usual Iron Man vs. War Machine story, Stark is on the run, Rhodes is sent after him, they fight, Stark wins, convinces Jim that he being framed and the Jim is playing for the wrong side and realizes that Stark was right all along and teams up with Tony and fights side by side with him, like it should be.

Maybe Tony just tells Rhodey that "when you put on this armor, you will become a one man war machine" or something like that. Or whoever provides Rhodey with the armor.

It would be awesome if Tony and Rhodey would actually refer to each other as "Iron Man" and "War Machine" at some point of the movie.

Well the original name for the War Machine armor was the Variable Threat Response Battlesuit in the comics and was designed for heavy combat conditions rather than just superhero-ing like the other Iron Man armors so we may hear it refered to by that name.

im not sure i thought it was the mk 2 but that brings up 2 problems. The mark 2 is in tonys hall of armor. And 2 the suit that Rhodey has on the tabel really doesnt look like the mark 2 from the comic con footage

Hard to say, it might. But that problem is only relevant at extreme altitudes anyway so as long as he didn't go up there he'd be fine.

Probably. Case-less or not, there would still be that problem because bullets(the projectile part) still have weight even if there are no shells.

But then there's also the storage volume situation to consider, which would make case-less ammo a much better choice.

I've been thinking... Remember that scene in the Comic-Con trailer where Iron Man was being chased by several missile near his house?I'm thinking it could be part of a surprise military attack led by War Machine to Tony's penthouse in order to either aprehend or destroy Tony's armors.

THEN we'll find out that she's really a SHIELD agent who's been put undercover within Hammer's organisation and to, in a roundabout way, protect Tony Stark.

Favreau did say that Ivan upgrades his suit throughout the film and most likely it'll be a full on armored suit like CD. I love how Ivans story is a reverse of tonys in the first film.

Caseless ammo is when they mix the chemicals to create a combustion into a casing so that the bullet is shot out and the casing holding the bullet is used up so that there is no shell disposed. It is trying to take out the cost of a casing so they aren't wasting metal.

It is like using a musket, insert the powder then the ball. There is no casing in that, and could in a way be considered caseless ammo.
