Ultron can only happen with The Pym's which, there is no word they're going to be in The Avengers.
I still believe that the Scott Piligrimm (whatever) guy will continue his job on the movie + Simon Pegg is awesome (as Scott Lang but not as Henry Pim)

I hope they don't make Ant Man as some nut ball always funny never serious person, I have yet to see Simon Pegg do a dramatic role and if Marvel is going to have Ant Man be the comic relief for the sake of comic relief, they could ruin probably one of the most important roles in the new Marvel Universe.

See?! What I mean? The promoting for this movie has begun! First the Empire stuff, then the Facebook Marvel stuff, the Iron Man/War Machine poster, now the Whiplash poster! The promotions really picked up in December, wonder why?

It's from Fav's Twitter. That's the link he posted. I imagine the site will be updated to be an IM2 site with the WHiplash poster

I'm sure it's the whiplash we've seen, but I'm hoping it's the Whiplash with at least some of his upgraded armor.

I have a theory about that. We were never told who originally invented the arc reactor(the big one). What if it was Ivan's father Anton Vanko? And then Howard Stark might have squeezed him out of the project and taken it over in true tycoon fashion. That might explain why Ivan calls the Stark family thieves among other things. It would also explain why he would be in a position to know more about how the arc reactor works than anyone except maybe Tony Stark himself.

Could be. Especially when you consider that, whatever happened between Howard Stark and Anton Vanko, it happened at the 1940's Stark Expo International to solve the world's energy problems, which is, basicly, what Obadiah said the Ark Reactor was build for in Iron Man.

Iron Man 2 Trailer Set
When will you be able to see the first teaser for the sequel?
by Jim Vejvoda
US, December 10, 2009 - IGN Movies has confirmed that fans will finally be able to get their first look at Iron Man 2 in the coming weeks.
The teaser trailer for Iron Man 2 will definitely run with the Christmas release of Sherlock Holmes, which also stars Robert Downey Jr. The trailer will debut online at Apple, which has also just released the new teaser poster featuring Mickey Rourke as Whiplash.
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film based on the legendary Marvel superhero Iron Man, reuniting director Jon Favreau and Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr.
In Iron Man 2, the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the armored Super Hero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

Looking at the whole picture of Tony (as seen in the bottom picture), it looks like he is holding the Mark II's silver faceplate again, just like he was in the first movie when he was watching the news report at his desk. If that is so, then it's not a bar pictured behind him, like some people are suggesting, it's a computer screen pictured behind him.
A computer screen would make more sense because a bar doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. Gee, Tony Stark is going to have a drinking problem eventually.....was that ever a secret?

If that is so, then it's not a bar pictured behind him, like some people are suggesting, it's a computer screen pictured behind him.
A computer screen would make more sense because a bar doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. Gee, Tony Stark is going to have a drinking problem eventually.....was that ever a secret?

Great poster of Whiplash. It's definitely better than the last poster we got.
;17820824']I'd say what matters really is the personality behind the suit. Iron Monger was big and ugly, but I didn't get much *danger* from Stane. Now good ol' Ivan -- he is so badass he doesn't need full armor! (at the beginning at least)
I got a sense of danger from Stane in that scene when he and Pepper were in Tony's office. I was actually afraid for her.

Ah, exactly. That pic really proves it.
But if the pic is indeed recycled from the first movie, then it can mean everything or nothing. It can mean that is has nothing at all to do with the "secret" we're supposed to find about the second movie, or it can mean that the "secret" we're supposed to find about the second movie is, in fact, in that scene from the first movie. Or, it can mean I'm thinking this through way too much. (why do I have a sinking feeling the last is most likely correct?)

I don't know if it has been pointed out already, but someone on another site pointed this out:
In the text there are a few words who are miss-spelled like Substatial instead of Substantial, Trama instead of Trauma and Kiddenapping instead of Kidnapping. Maybe these are clues or the Iron Man crew just can't spell. :D
On a side note: Another user pointed this out:
Substatial -> N missing
Trama -> U missing
Kiddenapping -> DE added
N-U-DE ? :o

The picture appears to be part of an article that Vanko clipped out of a magazine and taped to his little hate wall. So, whoever took the picture would, presumably, be a photographer for whatever magazine the article came from.
Considering the fact that he was by himself at that point in the movie, I don't think we're supposed to assume the picture was taken at that point in the movie. I think the picture was just recycled from the first movie (could be for any number of reasons) and we're supposed to either conveniently ignore that fact, or pretend Tony posed in the exact same way, in the exact same place, for a photograph taken at a later date.

Scarlett Johansson Interview - 12.13.09
SCARLETT JOHANSSON goes from blonde bombshell to black widow for her latest role in blockbuster sequel Iron Man 2.
The curvy Hollywood star looks stunning in a figure-hugging leather outfit as she takes on the role of Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff - the Black Widow - in the hotly anticipated new movie which also stars Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Mickey Rourke.
Scarlett, 24, star of Lost in Translation, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and The Spirit, dyed her hair and went through a punishing fitness regime for the part but it was all worth it for a role she describes as "kicks ass".
"What do I like about the character? Everything. Her fabulous outfit. Her wonderful hair. Everything.
"There's nothing not to like about the character. She's a total bad ass and I think it's rare that we get to see this sort of super heroine brought to the screen and where they're really kicking some major ass, which she does."
Scarlett, who is married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds - himself the star of another upcoming superhero movie, Green Lantern - had to undergo a rigorous physical exercise routine and special diet to play The Black Widow.
She said: "When you're doing an action scene you want everything to be exaggerated. You're not just punching somebody, you're punching through that person and everything.
"You want to hit it hard because you're selling the fact that you're either taking a blow or beating somebody senseless - and that it's believable.
"I feel much stronger than I've ever felt just because I've had to build so much strength. I had no choice, I had to do it.
"You want to do these stunts and you just have to be strong in order to do them. So a lot of that was just being able to have stability, to have balance, and flexibility and strength and all of that stuff. "It involved a lot of training. Stunt training, strength training and weight training.
"When you're working out you have to eat in a different way. Very clean, obviously you eat a lot of omelettes, turkey, stuff like that."
Bringing the Marvel Comic character to life meant she also had to learn how to fight, using a mixture of martial arts.
Scarlett relished working with the film's stunt team, even if it left her worn out by the end. She said: "The character does a lot of hand-to-hand combat, it's a sort of defensive style of fighting because she's small.
"A lot of the wire work was really challenging, just because you have a lot of resistance against you and you're moving forward and the wires are all pulling back.
"That's frustrating but I have to say we had such a great stunt team that was unbelievably supportive and they were like, 'Do it! You can do it!' "Sometimes you just have to be like 'Here I go!' You've just got to believe you can do it and then that's when it works.
"I'll probably never be able to turn my neck to the left again but it's been worth it."
Iron Man, which follows the adventures of billionaire industrialist Tony Stark and his super hero alter-ego Iron Man - played by Robert Downey Jr - was one of the biggest movies at the box office last year.
The sequel, again directed by Jon Favreau, sees Stark employing Scarlett's character Natasha Romanoff as his assistant, little realising she is the Black Widow.
Despite her long career Scarlett admits she was nervous about signing up for Iron Man 2 because she was such a fan of the original.
She said: "I thought it would be a little bit daunting, especially because I came into the project as a huge fan of the first movie.
"I was kind of geeked out when I first came to the set.
"I think roughly 80 per cent of the crew was back from the first one so it had a real familial feeling and even though the project seemed larger than life and sort of epic, it's got a sort of small kind of communal feeling on the set.
I attribute that to Jon and Robert and Marvel.
"They are dedicated to sort of keeping it all in the family, which I really appreciate. So it was nice.
"I was welcomed with open arms as opposed to being isolated. It was like being inducted into the family."
Scarlett is in line to play Black Widow again in another Marvel spin-off, The Avengers, and she would relish the chance to continue playing the kick ass character.
She said: "I hope it will happen. I don't know if that's where it's going go but she's definitely a big part of the Avengers.
"I think that Marvel is very much invested in these characters just as much as the fans are, just as much as I am.
"You want the fans to like the character, you want them to believe in the character, root for them, and want to see them again.
"So I'm hoping that if the fans support the character, that we'll see her again."

So I may have found a few thing in the clue:
http://i45.tinypic.com/166dt6x.jpg
So I noticed that in the arrow, there are a few interesting things. For example:
- The word "Afghanistan" is cut in half by the arrow and now you see "Afghan". Next to it you see the word "mysterious", also in the arrow. This forms "Mysterious Afghan". Reference to The Mandarin perhaps?
- Also in the arrow they say that Tony "challenged natural disasters", but I don't recall anything like this happening in Iron Man. It also says that he was found "in Saudi Arabia", but it seems very unlikely that Tony walked from Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia. Now what do you get if you connect the 2? It's been discussed that it was the Attache in Saudi Arabia that found him but that doesn't mean that's where they found him. Just that that was where they had come from(a base perhaps). Awesome:
EricVespe @ChrisWiese I think I'm going to write up Kick-Ass and the IM2 trailer description as a combo-article.

Before I leave you I figured I’d give a brief rundown on the Iron Man 2 trailer. That okay? I thought you wouldn’t mind.
Most of the first theatrical Iron Man 2 trailer contains footage that screened in the Comic-Con sizzle reel (you can read my description of that trailer here (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41825)) which was bootlegged a bit if I remember correctly, so there’s a good chance some of you fine folks saw that already.
This trailer starts with Tony Stark sitting in front of a Congressional board… press and public behind him and Gary Shandling leading the board in front. They want the Iron Man technology and Stark refuses. From the flashes we see that it’s relative peacetime and Iron Man/Tony Stark spends more time flying to special engagements, awards shows (where he’s backed up by cheerleaders or dancers wearing red and gold bikinis with a glowing orb in the middle) and the like.
But while Stark is busy trying to get his Stark Expo up and running we leave him and go to Mickey Rourke’s prison cell, littered with articles on Stark and his tech. There’s a voiceover from Rourke about how much he wants to emulate Stark’s work and then we see him out and whipping up the racetrack where Stark is competing.
What wasn’t in the Comic-Con reel was an effects shot of Rourke literally whipping a racecar in two (I assume it’s Stark’s) as it speeds by. In slow motion you see the front end separate in much the manner you’d expect… kinda like a lightsaber strike… but the back end starts flipping up and over the front as Rourke is still finishing his strike.
Another new bit has Stark and Pepper standing near the open end of a flying airplane. He asks for a kiss before he leaves and she takes his helmet, kisses it and throws it out of the plane. He smiles and jumps after it, the camera following him down and into some war-ish hell where he’s pursued by missiles, etc.
The big money shot is the last scene of the trailer which starts on Don Cheadle’s face as the War Machine mask slides into place and he starts fighting back to back with Iron Man. They showed this segment at Comic-Con, but the difference on the effects is night and day. Now instead of just the two fighting against black they’re in a war-torn, fiery environment… War Machine’s shoulder mini-guns are whirring taking out men with guns as Iron Man’s repulsor rays do their thing.
And we also get a glimpse of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, but not much more than a brief bit of a beat down she employs to some poor schmuck in a hallway somewhere and a quick shot of Sam Jackson as Nick Fury.
It’s a lot of frenetic energy and I suppose does its job, especially for a teaser, but you don’t get too much of an idea of the story or a real set up to where Rourke is coming from as a new addition to the universe. But all in good time, right? The flick’s still a half-year away-ish, yeah?SOURCE (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/43367)

I suppose these girls are the Ironette, a group of girls created for some dance scene in the movie. Maybe during the Expo.

I didnt get why Pepper threw the helmet out of the airplane. Is Tony supposed to find it and wear it mid air?
Meh...

Trailer description sounds interesting.
I hope we get more red and gold Iron Man action though.

This bit sounds awesome! This is probably the trailer moment I'm looking forward to the most.
Though it's seen as a complaint in the report, I think it's actually a very good thing that the trailer gives away very little of the actual plot. That's the way the best trailers are - giving you an idea of the feel and atmosphere of the movie, without just taking you through the plot step by step. That's what made The Dark Knight trailers so great.
One thing I am getting from this though, is that the sequel plays out on a much bigger scale. While the first films was in a lot of ways quite small and personal in scale, it seems like this film has Iron Man (and later, War Machine) thrust into scenes of large-scale combat and mass carnage.

It gives us a lil insight on Howard Stark.
Sounds badass but I hope those cheerleaders are only shown for a really brief moment. Don't need cheese like that lame parade in the first Spider-Man.

Anyone check into J.M. Eddins Jr.? The bottom pic is credited to him. Is he another crew member?

So Favs, why dont you just show us the trailer instead of giving us hints through pics of newspapers? This ARG is so half assed compared to TDK's. Its not like i expected anything of that level, but this is pretty lame.

I pretty much agree. You couldn't have paid me to waste my time with TDK's viral crap and now this comes along for a movie I'm actually interested in. If I was into detective stuff I'd be a Batfan.

I don't know why they waste their money on viral marketing. Odds are if someone cares enough to get involved in the marketing, they are already seeing the movie or even have their movie ticket already.
