I would love to tell you guys what I did and did not see but Marvel is beefing up on what people can and cannot say. omg! THOR is even worse. Just going into a interview and you have to sign a contract saying that you wont say anything. Man, I wish I could spill on that one too.
That one, I can't spill until the movie is released. ARGH!!

Definitively know the love hate relationship about wanting to know and wanting to be surprised for the movie. I feel that way towards Iron Man 2 right now. I know a good chunk of the movie. But I still want that element of movie suspense when I enter that theater. That feeling of not knowing.
*cough*TryoutforDeadpoolwhenitfilmstoo*cough*
No idea when they will start filming. But I will keep an ear out for that. It wont be for awhile though.

http://www.vevo.com/watch/acdc/shoot-to-thrill-iron-man-2/USSM21000024
So from the video, we know where the Stark Expo is at Flushing, New York. Do you think the Stark Expo could be the grounds for The Base of Operation in The Avengers. The fact that it is in New York could mean just that. It is also the birthplace of Jon Favreau.
Flushing was also the location of the Stark Industries (later Stark International) munitions plant in Marvel Comics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Comics)' original Iron Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man) series

I think the first one is the rumor we've heard where WM gives IM his armor and parts so he can defeat Vanko. Plus his thigh and bicep armor is all gold, like in the trailer. The 2nd is just a concept art armor. It was called the stealth suit but the figure itself is gonna be called "jetstream" armor. Look awful to me.

So what do you guys think the blacked out figure is?
I am extremely confident that it is either Vanko's final suit, or it might just be the official movie version of the Mark V.
They may or may not show Vanko's final armor before the movie comes out. They might keep that armor a surprise until the movie is out.
I also have a theory regarding a certain rumor, the one where Tony gets bits from the WM armor and combines it with the IM armor to take out Vanko. If this rumor is true, it could possibly be a Mark VI armor. The first movie had 3 different suits for IM, so it's possible in this movie we might see 3 different suits for IM too.

I just completely don't understand those people, that do not believe in the appearence of Mark V (Silver Centurion) Armor on the big screen. Come on guys, we have HAMMER F-ING DRONES and WHIPLASH here, why we could not possibly have a good silver painted armor?
Besides, everyone (Hasbro, Diamond Select) is calling the triangle armor Mark VI, which means, that it is not a mistake - that got to mean something.

I assumed that the Mark II was the big screen version of the silver centurion armor-the scene right before he heads to the Stark foundation ball, there's the II and it's gets some red in the scheme. It's the suit that got me into Iron Man so if it shows up closer to the original...dude :up:
I have a feeling that once the Superbowl spot hits, promotion will hopefully kick into full gear.

Meh..never wanted to see this for some reason. As an avid IM honk, I just thought it was kinda lame...you have to think, around this time Comics were drowning in there own press, every week was a new variant and million shipped books were abound. i didn't get back into reading ANYthing til 2000. I own the entire '60's series, and I've got the Spiderman and his Amazing Friends ep. :woot: Where stark gets Spidey,Bobby, and Angelica there computer...complete w/ Beetle as the villian. :up:, I may have to give this new one a chance.

What's the difference between IM MIII and IM MIV because they look the same?

What's the difference between IM MIII and IM MIV because they look the same?
The difference is in colour and gadgets.
Mark IV is more gold like and sleeker + more gadgets, than Mark III. The legs are different between those two armors and the hands + the torso is more in yellow stripes, while Mark III Armor's torso isn't.
Chestplate is bigger now, than it was in Mark III.
The only thing, which is alike is the helmet.
Mr. Earle
01-30-2010, 01:52 PM
Looking at the silver suit i noticed that the legs and arms are not as beefy as those of the other armours, and they re made out of tiny little pieces. Perhaps this suit is a smaller and weaker one that folds into a suitcase that Tony can carry with him so that he isnt completely helpless in case of a surprise attack.
That's the only way i can forgive this suit.
Also, why do people like Silver Centurion so much? I mean, its silver, which doesnt look as good on him as gold, and it has those weird shoulder....things... Did you guys grow up with this?
I personally grew up with model 13 (see pic below) and it still looks very good.
Note: Model 30 is his current suit, called Extremis and in the last pic you can see how he suits up with it. Unfortunately in March Tony gets a new suit which if you ask me is really, really lame.

I pretty much DIG the MODULLAR ARMOR too man)) No offense: Marvel vs Capcom, Season 2 of 90s, toys, commercials and good Len Kaminski stff.
I wrote down the reasons, WHY people LOVE SC Suit. And I'll write it down again:
1) For some of hardcore IM fans, Silver Centurion Armor is and forever will be more than just a suit. It is a symbol of: power, recovery, and the new millenium for Tony Stark. That armor showed, that Stark overcomed his greatest falls (taking of the company by Stane) and fears (alchoholism, fear of becoming Iron Man again).
2) The color scheme was rather unusual and pretty tough by schematics.
3) This armor highlited the period of the first Armor Wars. The destroying of armor by Firepower made a Silver Centurion Armor one of the most interesting, legendary and coolest armors Tony's ever created.

The Silver Centurion is mainly loved due to it being used to good effect in a particularly memorable story arc in Iron Man's comic. It was the upgraded suit he used to defeat Obidiah Stane's Iron Monger. I like it fine, but my fave growing up(from that pic of yours) would be the model #9.

I like that one as well. Its so... masculine and beefy. My favourite remains the Extremis, but with the new helmet that Granov drew after he worked with the production team of the IM movie and understood how a human head fits inside a helmet (i misquote but that's what he said). Here:

It's called Modular Armor - because it is very sleek and attachable with the help of special modules. You can attach a lot of components or weapons with this modules. The armor was very powerful and fast back in the 90's. The most sofisticated armor of Tony Stark back at the time.
So-called Hulkbuster Armor is just an Add-on of Modular Armor, rather than separate armor.

Its so tacky and busy. The lights are ridiculous, not to mention that they form a necklace around his neck. And the way the red is cut on his shoulders, it looks like he is wearing a sleeveless T-shirt (the feminine kind that doesnt even cover the shoulders) which is pretty feminine if you ask me.
And then there's the lack of joints which clearly destroys it. Pre-Extremis and Granov's outstanding work, most armours looked like spandex suits with some metal pieces. Granov made the armour look like actual armour and now they re going back to this? I suppose its some magic metal or whatever (for example the metal of the extremis suit was flexible so that he could store it with ease, but when he wore the suit, an electrical current would make it rigid. Much like Batman's cape in the movies) but i thought that the whole point of ironman was that he is a superhero in armour.

Yeah, still kinda like it anyway. I'm not getting the whole tank-top vibe you're getting and even though the joints aren't there, it's not that big a deal. Maybe take away the lights on the shoulders and two on the chestpiece and that would look better. But then I also thought most of the armors displayed earlier kinda sucked, with the muscley mold. Even the Extremis wasn't that accurate, Granov said until working on the Iron Man movie that he just thought about what looked cool, not actual human movement. I like the way the color scheme's cut, too. It's got a pretty good balance.

There was also an Iron Man 2 Display (no pictures were allowed, sorry guys), but there were two products, which will be released in march 2010 and which gathered everyone's attention:
Iron Man 2 - Line (Movie Wave):
* Tony Stark's Race Car
* Hall of Armor (Portable Headquarters): Expressions, made by collectors: "This looked awesome! The top opens up like the back of the ROCC and it has IM armour components displayed on the little shelves. There were snap on armor pieces, but the figure you got with it looked pretty friggin' sweet - Tony Stark figure."

That's pretty much how I see it as well. I'd prefer it if the lights/appertures were not open all the time but could open as needed for that full form repulsor blast they came up with. But keep them closed otherwise.
On the modular armor....I never liked it. I just thought it looked silly, but I did like how they made other stuff attach to it(Hulkbuster). But it looked too much like pajamas to me when it was on it's own.

That model 17 that Chen drew when Busiek was writing (right after Heroes Return) will always be my favorite. Look Favreau and other guys at Marvel told us:
* Second movie events start (6 months after first IM) with the court scene
* Than we get a clues of Stark Expo Preparation
* Tony begins Stark Expo
* Justin Hammer Steps in and releases Whiplash from prison
* Whiplash faces Stark on the race track in Monaco (Stark should be in Mark V (briefcase) 'cause Mark IV will be trashed before the Monaco incident, but how? - no one knows.
Why it is not impossible to have Mark V in the movie? We have HAMMER DRONES, DRONES HERE and guy with the ELECTRIC RAZOR WHIPS? Why we couldn't possibly have another suit of armor, but with the other colours?
So what, if it's unrealistic (I mean, briefcase transforms in the armor or something)? It is comic books adaptation with the Modern Day continuity. Come on, how real can the guy with the arc reactor in his chest can be?)))

The Mark IV doesn't necessarily need to get trashed before he uses the Mark V you know. Why can't he have them both at the same time? Mark IV is probably stronger, but Mark V he can carry with him. I'd say it's something like that. I don't even think the Mark IV will get trashed in the movie, but he'll just replace it because he needs to replace his chest piece.

Yeah, Stark can simply change arc reactor to the triangle one and do the same thing with the armor: upgrade it + and make the triangle in the chest plate.

I just don't see how it could work. I'll be happy to be wrong but the briefcase armor idea is reminiscent of the AllSpark in TF1 going from this giant cube to something that can fit in your hand. And Iron Man is supposed to be even less 'out there' than Transformers.

I think, that it's just unpainted spots on the armor by Kotobukiya. They will probably paint it prior to april, maybe even earlier.

I just don't see how it could work. I'll be happy to be wrong but the briefcase armor idea is reminiscent of the AllSpark in TF1 going from this giant cube to something that can fit in your hand. And Iron Man is supposed to be even less 'out there' than Transformers.
NOW I WANT SUPERBOWL SPOT EVEN MORE!!!
Actually, it reminds me of the Superbowl Trailer of the first movie, which showed all three armors (Mark I-III) in action + Iron Monger Armor.
Note, that previous IM trailers, before Superbowl one, didn't include Mark II - it was a secret armor back then.
Now, when they showed both Mark IV and Mark VI + Hammer Drones, could it be that they will show Mark V in Superbowl spot? I think, that this is possible 50%/50%.

Okay, lets see what we have here:
Mark IV: Sleeker design, more speed.
Mark V: Skinnier, possibly portable and/or compact.
Mark VI: Sleeker than mark IV, more gold, darker shade of red (possibly) and tri-arc reactor.
War Machine: Bulky, weaponized, likely slower due to excess bulk.

But MKV is in the movie one.

* Second movie events start (6 months after first IM) with the court scene.
Didn't Favreau said it starts with Tony in a situation where both his mood and his armor are trashed? :huh: I think it'll start with Stark alredy in Mark VI, at the verge of defeat by the hands of Whiplash, and we'll go back in time (Like Iron Man) to see how the situation unfolded.
* Justin Hammer Steps in and releases Whiplash from prison.
I believe Hammer only comes in contact with Vanko after the Grand Prix.
* Whiplash faces Stark on the race track in Monaco (Stark should be in Mark V (briefcase) 'cause Mark IV will be trashed before the Monaco incident, but how? - no one knows.

I highly doubt that there can be a Mark 4, a Mark 6 and no Mark 5.
On another hand Redd already said that she saw the Mark 5.
These aren't proves of course but can be considered as strong assumptions.
Actually the only thing that really bugs me is the Mark 6. I don't understand the need of two different versions wich are so close if you except the paint job. I don't think if we'll see the V1 on screen or if it's just an innacurate toy or an early design.
In the trailers the two sequences with the Mark 6 shows gold arms and tights with silver parts.
I really don't know what to think about that.

If the Mark V is in and it's a folding suit, it's probabily very weak. It's probabily only used for protection and to fight off surprise attacks. I'd say it only has repulsor rays, if so. Whiplash will probabily trash it.

http://mydisguises.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/iron-man-tony-stark-arc-reactor.jpg
I remembered: The slot that the arc reactor goes into is round. It would be too dangerous for him to get one that's triangle shaped.
So I thought, "What if its only the ARMOR that has a triangle shape?" so I threw together this:

Ooh i love flashbacks!
I don't believe the Mark IV gets trashed. :cwink:I think so too. The Mark V (if it is in the movie) looks like it has a special use and the Mark VI is the Mark IV but with a different reactor. I assume that Tony has heart surgery and removes the reactor from his chest and from then on he can give the reactor any shape he wants. Perhaps he changes its shape because the circle reminds him that he used to have a piece of metal in his chest.The chest looks less bulky and sleeker to me in the Mk VI.Its just that in the MkIV the centre of the chest looks like he has pecks, while in the VI, the chest is completely flat. Small difference.

True, but his reactor gets infected, then we have a suit with a triangular chest reactor, and we know from the comics that at some point he undergoes heart surgery and removes the reactor, so all the clues point to my speculation. But that's what it is for now, just speculation.My problem with the Toys as proof of stuff happening in the movie is that i saw a number of toys released before ROTF...some of which weren't in the movie at all.

SPOILER ALERT! - Okay, this armor situation is confusing. Why so:
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss343/IrOnPaTrIoT/th_1264950466.jpg (http://s590.photobucket.com/albums/ss343/IrOnPaTrIoT/1264950466.jpg)
* Мark IV - We saw the armor back in the CC'09 footage (http://spidermedia.ru/node/1743), promo art (http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy72/Iron_Dude/IM22.jpg), poster (http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy72/Iron_Dude/10490new_storyimage-29640080.jpg) and in the trailer (http://spidermedia.ru/node/2177).
* Мark V - The armor was spotted only in the Iron Man 2 - Line (Movie Wave) - Hasbro (http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss343/IrOnPaTrIoT/Old%20Stuff/MKV-1.jpg). There is a suggestion, that the armor (somehow) connected with the magic briefcase (http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/iron-man-case.jpg), which Pepper threws out of the car in Whiplash vs. Stark scene.. BUT AGAIN, it would've been strange to show Mark IV and VI in the movie, but in the same time - not show Mark V.
* Мark VI - Very strange situation from now on occured. We have TWO VERSIONS of this armor?
- First Version: Appeared in promo (http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy72/Iron_Dude/21A.jpg), action figures (http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/iron-man-toy.jpg), but not in the trailer.
- Second Version: Appeared in the trailer (http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss343/IrOnPaTrIoT/sanstitre2rb.jpg) (you can see some grey spots over the armor - IT IS NOT A MISTAKE (http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss343/IrOnPaTrIoT/12-3.jpg))
* War Machine Armor - Hell YES (http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy72/Iron_Dude/9A.jpg).
In conclusion, we have 4 armors? If so, what is the length of the movie?
P.S: Don't forget about the Hammer Drones!

http://i49.tinypic.com/14s9ja.jpg
It Call of Duty 4: MW2 you can use a laser make a gunner aim and shoot at a said target in a 360 circle.
I think they took the idea of having a gunner in a plane or vehicle and just added some "high tech" stuff to take out the man and have the gun be able to shoot who the operator (war machine) has targeted.
Like in Iron Man when he picked the hostiles out of the civilians:

Suitcase suit sounds awesome, never thought they'd go that route (it was absolute bonkers in the 90's toon but I loved it) so I'm not surprised that it's going to be a one scene deal. The general audience probably couldn't swallow it for the whole movie but as a 'quick fix' to take care of a surprise attacker it'll do fine. Makes sense that Tony would make a quick change suit too since he's made his identity very public knowledge and he's a smart guy, the kind of man that plans ahead for all evenualties, like the Thor/Hulk fighting suits etc so it suits his character to a T.

No, the helmet and chest are the most likely to be damaged and yet they re painted. Stop trying to defend this with some lame justification. They decided to design the suit that way and it sucks. The end.

Yeah, I think that the grey parts are nothing but a design choice. Can't be battle damages or unpainting parts, it doesn't make sense.
Anyway, I really like this design. Truth is I'm a little tired of the traditionnal red & gold color scheme. Nice to see that the film's crew imagined something else.

What if it is the MKVI-1... would that not explain the unpainted parts of the suit?
:wow:
That is the single best idea I have ever heard.

Since you guys are spamming the hell out of this thread, I have to ask.
Who are those characters and what makes it funny that they are the ones saying those lines? Well other than the obvious Green Lantern one.

I like GL and its mythos. Memes I hate. :dry:
As for the complaints of the gray parts in IM armor? I mean really?
That's not going to affect my experience of the movie in any way. Batmans jigsaw costume in TDK was fine it didn't make the movie "dehsuckzhors".

Typical answer from a 4channer. :hehe:
Since you guys are spamming the hell out of this thread, I have to ask.
Who are those characters and what makes it funny that they are the ones saying those lines? Well other than the obvious Green Lantern one.Its a meme that started with the face of a dog (advice dog) in front of this hypnotizing background and it would give bad advice.
Many variations have spawned from this, including Courage wolf, bachelor frog, insanity wolf, socially awkward penguin and god knows what else.
These were variations of this meme, involving the leaders of each of the Lantern corps (and Guy who is just a member of the green lanterns).
(colour = name of character = emotion)
Green = Hal = Willpower
Yellow = Sinestro = Fear
Orange= Larfleeze = Avarice
Red= Atrocitus= Rage
Blue= Saint Walker = Hope
Indigo= Indigo-1 =Compassion
Violet = Star Sapphire = Love
Guy is a member of the Green Lanterns but he is known to be a magnificent bastard. His advices are based on this fact.
Welcome to the underworld of the internet.
