Nice find there, Spider. Never noticed that. Probably because I was drooling over WM and the Mark VI.
Oh and btw RIM, I love all the stuff you post. You post the best stuff. You're actually alot like Andre@s from the TDK board. So thanks for all the stuff and keep 'em coming. :)
Right on!
What do you mean by regulars in regards to your 3 friends? Do you mean they actually had some dialogue or close ups?
Oh sorry, "Regulars" is a term that is used by background people and people on set.
A "Regular" is a person that is a background person that is consistently called back to be on a certain show or movie. They very rarely ever have lines. In order to have lines on a show, you have to be part of the show for more than 5 years or so.
If you go back and look at some of your favorite shows, you might notice certain people keep popping up in the show. EXAMPLE: go watch NBC Heroes. You might notice the same Carnival people over and over again. Those people are considered "Regulars"
Everyone that does background work wants to be a "regular" on a show. It makes it easier for them to find work. And in this economy, the work is really slow.
Also, everyone wants to have lines on a movie or tv show. WHY? Because you can get paid over $800 for saying just one line. And also you get residuals every time it is aired in a movie theater or on TV.

If that were so, the reflections would be larger, not multitudinous and small, because there is only one source of light behind War Machine. It seems more like the flowers were litten up, instead of a reflection.

I am in 3 different scenes. I also, became friends with some of the crew. They told me a little bit about the story and what is going on.
Also, I have 3 friends that were "regulars" in the movie. They worked from February 09' to July 09', and they told me a lot of what was going on in the movie.
Plus, from the 3 scenes that I did, there was a lot of action and dialogue going on. Just from that you can put the pieces together and figure out what was going on.
For awhile I had a quote from the movie in my signature, but I took it down because of the contract that I signed when I joined the movie.
Well let us know what u know. Pleasssssseeeeee!

But yeah, likely a corporate garden or something. It would be fun if it was a hint at the Mandarin.

I'm not a particular fan of the alcoholism. It'd be a far cry from the fun tone of IM and IM2 and Stark would spend a big part of the movie without being Iron Man, which I also don't want to see. I think "Demon in a Bottle" can be done without, well, the bottle. What if the Mandarin organized an attack against every aspect of Stark's life. Using Titanium Man to keep Iron Man busy and the Ghost to steal the Iron Man's blueprints and selling them in the black market trough Justin Hammer, framing Tony and making him a public enemy of the government, SHIELD and the public, as well as targeting Tony's loved ones, destroying his factories and etc. It'd be pretty much the classic plot, but, instead of giving the armor to someone else, Tony would be more motivated than ever to stood up and fight.
IMHO, obviously.
Oh, and I also don't think Pepper gets a new boyfriend in this.
This.
**** Demon in a Bottle and **** the Tony gives up being Iron Man for most of the movie for alcoholism story line.

1) "I am Iron Man." With those words, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark revealed his secret identity. Now a famous high-tech superhero, he uses his powers to protect mankind. Yet things are not going well for Tony Stark.
The U.S. military demands control of the most powerful weapon on earth--the Iron Man suit. His beautiful new assistant has a strange, mysterious agenda while his best friend, Rhodey, has betrayed him. And Tony is hunted by a vengeful Russian criminal armed with a lethal technology that may be stronger than Tony's suit. But even as he fights his demons, the hero faces his greatest threat--one that no armor can defend against...
Meet all of Iron Man's friends (Rhodey, Pepper, Agent Coulson, Nick Fury) and his new foes (Whiplash, Black Widow, Justin Hammer).
How is Black Widow a foe? She's a Shield agent. She has the symbol on her uniform.

Black Widow is most likely a spy working for S.H.I.E.L.D., but actually working for the US government that want Stark's blueprints for the Iron Man suit, so they can send the prints to Justin Hammer to build an Iron Man-like army, lead by Rhodey as War Machine. Although Hammer is also working with Whiplash.
At least that's my take on Iron Man 2's premise.
If true, that's a lot of double-crossing in one movie.

* 6inch Whiplash, Black Widow and Nick Fury are planned, as some people said over the Hasbro conferention on Toy Fair'10.
That is purely speculative, bro ... there is no confirmation on that and if they are just being "planned" and aren't in production, it could be awhile before we ever see them.
For example, see the newest wave of The Dark Knight movie masters set to release in Spring. Mattel sat on the fence with making addittional MM figures, had to wait till the movie released to get a finalized look of Two Face in order to design and mass produce a figure and we're about to get key figures from key scenes in the movie ... a whopping two years later after the initial release of MM TDK figures. Same can happen with these "proposed" concepts.
Let's face it Hasbro is focusing its efforts on the 4 inch line. All figures are changing to this size and scale due to production cost, pricing @ retail, etc. And from the looks of it, the line itself is very well done. Alot of the details for instance on the 4 inch Mark I are better than the Mark I from 2008 the original film.
* Bad paint on War Machine + looong neck
Huh? Where do you see bad paint or a long neck?
The Marvel Select figures are out of this world quality.
Only true problems is that its ashame they're not making more characters in that line, full of Tony's other armors (Mark I, II, III, V) and no Whiplash, Iron Monger, etc
And the other negative is that two of the three figures being released (War Machine and Mark IV) are going to be BORDERS exclusives. Nothing like giving the exclusive rights to a fairly obscure bookstore.

2) Huh? Where do you see bad paint or a long neck?
That is veeery funny man)
1) It is possible to release other movie characters in 6inch wave in IM2 2-packs, like they did with MKVI and War Machine Wal-Mart 2-Pack (http://comicfigs.net/News/images/N85_587.jpg). + they also showed Exclusive MKIV (with Tony Stark's head) figure from Toy Fair (http://s859.photobucket.com/albums/ab152/RealIrOnMaN-1/robert-downey-jr-with-iron-man-2-1.jpg), which means, that it will be either an sold separetely exclusive figure or they will just put it in another Iron Man 2-pack with some movie character (Black Widow, Whiplash, Nick Fury). Now, if you saw this pictures, you might fing that IM2 6inch figures from now on have: new sculpt, applications, head, double wrists and paint. How great is that for the collectors? Why not to make MORE 6inch EXCLUSIVE figures.
2) NO! YOU DIDN'T!! Ok, ok))) Here ya go (showed at Toy Fair'10): http://www.cooltoyreview.com/TF2010/DST/image41.asp
The paint is alll-too black bro, so no offense, but I really liked the promo one better.

I've never known her to use suction cups. :whatever:
But why have the bracelets if they serve no purpose.
Yep, she did:
The Black Widow uses a variety of equipment invented by Soviet scientists and technicians, with later improvements by S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists and technicians. She usually wears distinctively shaped bracelets which fire "widow sting" energy blasts, as well as "widow line" grappling hooks, and tear gas pellets. She wears a belt of metallic disc-charges containing plastic explosives. Her costume consists of synthetic stretch fabric equipped with micro-suction cups on fingers and feet, enabling her to adhere to walls and ceilings.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Widow_(Natalia_Romanova)#Powers_and_abilitie s
I agree about questioning why have the bracelets if you're not gonna use them(I actually think the grappling hooks angle is what they'll use them for, if anything). You can see that she already has a side-arm so wrist blasters is kinda redundant. Maybe tranquelizer cartridges for non-lethal combat or spy stuff? That was basically what the widow blasters were for, to knock people out rather than kill them.

I think, that it is pretty much possible to do with Mark IV figure, but I can't tell you for sure, because I don't know, if the figure is going to be in Iron Man 2 Wal-Mart 2pack with some other character or will it be sold separetely as some kind of Wal-Mart/Comic Con'10 exclusive figure?
This set (with Iron Man 2 Wal-Mart 2pack: MKVI and War Machine (http://comicfigs.net/News/images/N85_587.jpg)), for example, includes 2 kinds of wrists, so I think, that if this Mark IV Tony Stark figure will be included in 2pack, it will be possible to change the figure's wrists.

i like the viral marketing idea better.
Cuz, let's face it. When we all did the TDK viral, we got to be INVOLVED in the movie. Plus it was fun and exciting for us nerds to be running around the Chicago and Los Angeles area doing all these games.
Plus by us doing these games, it will put the word out about the movie. HELLO! I thought that everyone realized that. (Nudge* Nudge* at the executive people)
That is one of the many reasons, that The Dark Knight made so much money! They did over a year of viral marketing.

Im not saying your wrong because that might very well be it, but if you look at the kotobukyia figure there is no damage on the suit at all, and their stuff is extreme detail, not to mention that a "battle damaged" mark III was released after iron man 1. But not only that but the silver plates are very deliberate on the biceps and knees, i dopubt he would have damage just on those two areas
It's a very short moment where we get to see the practical suit, but it looks to me like it's more easy to move in this one then the one in IM1 (which in the few scenes they had it looked clunky to move around in).
Of course the suit will be improved upon, so this shouldn't be too surprising. (I always assumed the suit he has on in the trailer before the "You complete me." line was CGI because he moves so fluidly and easily in it, but maybe it's practical)

The final battle should be Iron Man vs "the big bad", be it upgraded Whiplash or Hammer in a suit.
Agreed. I'm thinking that War Machine tries to stop Whiplash (who I still think will get a new and upgraded armor), but gets his ass kicked and right before Whiplash is going to finish off War Machine, Tony arrives in his finished Mark VI and starts the final battle against Whiplash.

The suit with the silver parts is not battle damaged, probably just a different paintjob or maybe Mark VII, because:
1) The suit isnt damaged anywhere else.
2) The suit is damaged on both biceps and both kneecaps and the paint was chipped off perfectly? CONVENIENT MUCH?
3) There is a toy of the damaged suit?

1) http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5744/mkv.th.jpg (http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5744/mkv.jpg)
Tony Stark is caught unaware by a surprise attack by the crazed Russian rogue Ivan "Whiplash" Vanko! Luckily, he's got the powerful, portable Mark V armor with him.
The one drawback to the IRON MAN armor is that it isn't very portable, so it's only available when Tony Stark is home. That's why he invented the Suitcase Armor. Though not as powerful as other suits, it's light and compact enough to take almost anywhere, concealed in a simple suitcase.
2) The Stark Expo is thrown into chaos when Justin Hammer's haywire drones begin attacking everything in sight. Luckily, Iron Man and War Machine are there. Even though the drones outnumber them ten to one, the two Super Heroes are more than enough to handle them.

It's inspiration, yes. But I don't see how one could be mad over it.
It's not blatantly stealing TDK's aspect of the Joker/Batman dynamic. Sure, there might be one line copying Gordon's speech, but this dynamic will feel different. TDK didn't create interrogation scenes mind you.
I wish people would stop trying to compare Iron Man 2 and The Dark Knight. First the "You complete me line" and now this. The Dark Knight didn't originate lines and/or scenes.

Are YOU serious? ... what did you expect?
The 1st movie was literally almost a beat for beat rip off of Batman Begins
This looks line another atrocious rip off of Nolan's Batman series that has been scattering through out Hollywood.
I mean they have taken scenes and characters from TDK and literally made whole movies around them. I heard a score from this terrible vampire movie with Ethan Hawke. Add this to a long line, and sure to get longer of films that have aped some aspect or more from The Dark Knight.
Shows just how influentially that film truly was.
I mean watch the trailer, the whole theme of "escelation" from Batman Begins to Dark Knight is shown in the transition from Iron Man to Iron Man 2 ... just re-worded. "The sharks will come."
It's the same thing.

Why? The comparisons aren't even legit, they are exact rip offs.
Sure TDK had completely original lines and scenes.
Difference?
Dark Knight's interrogation scene was INFLUENCED by a scene of an immovable force and an unstoppable object being rivals and having a candid philisophical discussion in the movie Heat. They met in a public setting in a diner.
This is literally an exact rip off.
The hero visiting a incarcerated villain of the film, interrogation style. Yeah, I'd say thats kind of a rip off.
The dialogue in the teaser from Whiplash is in essence the things Joker said to Batman, just not as inspiring / original and with a russian accent.

You do realize Whiplash got interrogated by Stark in the Demon in a Bottle storyline right after an unprovoked attack, when Stark was away from his home enjoying himself? Sound familiar? Long before TDK and a Killing Joke interrogation. (actually Ant-Man did, but Stark asked him to do it)
But I guess since the Gospel of Nolan did it, everything gets set to zero. Every interrogation scene from now on is a rip off to TDK, everytime someone says "You complete me" is rip off, every time there's a superhero movie that comes out after July 18, 2008, it's a rip off, every time there are police cars following each other with their lights flashing, it's a rip off, every time a hero fights a villain and his hired goons, it's a rip off, every time a villain breaks out of jail, it's a rip off.
As our Lord and Savior Nolan said in his 8th commandment, "Thou shalt not STEAL."

As our Lord and Savior Nolan said in his 8th commandment, "Thou shalt not STEAL."
Nolan himself has never been anything other than humble. You got a problem with the fanboys, go after them. Leave Nolan out of it.

The Dark Knight was the first movie in cinema history to have a interrogation room scene? I didn't know that. And can you elaborate on the similarities of the speeches by Whiplash and the Joker? "An unstoppable force/immovable object" is one of the most common themes in movies. Ever see The Mummy? Imhotep clearly was a unstoppable, yet Brenden Fraser was immovable. So, did the Dark Knight rip off the Mummy? Or every James Bond movie, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and every single movie in history that had a hero and a evil bad guy? Speaking of James Bond, Goldeneye had an interrogation scene and a close relationship between the villain/bad guy. Complete with mayhem on the streets, cars being destroyed, an old guy that hooked the hero up with gadgets, and a scene in a club (Eric Roberts/Robbie Coltrane).
So, there we have it. The Dark Knight ripped off Goldeneye. Batman is a rip off of James Bond. Lucius Fox is a rip off of Q. Gordon is a rip off of M. Maroni is a rip off of Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky. The Joker is a rip off of Alec Trevelyan, complete with messed up face. The explosions/battle on the streets of Gotham is a rip off of the chase on the streets of St. Petersburg.
Oh, wait. Thats right. You probally are too young to have seen Goldeneye. Like 85% of Dark Knight fans, this is probally the first good action movie you have seen. I like that movie, but you people need to just stop with propping Nolan up like he is god, who created every plot point/scene in movie history. You can find plenty of similiarities in his movies with those in others. The truck flip in TDK? Terminator. The jail scene? L.A. Confidental. The ferry/explosives scene? Do you recall the Green Goblin forcing Spiderman to make the same choice in the movie that came out before both Nolan Batmans? I. Rest. My. Case.

Good post although I disagree with the Terminator and L.A. Confidential comparisons. As far as Nolan is concerned, he's much better when he isn't dealing with Batman. I'm much more excited for Inception than I am for Batman 3. In fact, I wish he wouldn't even bother making Batman movies anymore. He's too talented to spend his time on archetypal rehashes that have already been done many times in the superhero genre.

thanks. I think the jail scene in TDK had a similar feel to the hectic one in L.A. Confidential. In both hectic scenes, you had vengeful cops and prisoners that needed to be protected. I wasn't really trying to say Nolan ripped this off, just providing an example to these younger fans of the similarities that can be drawn for any movie.
Inception looks awesome, hopefully Nolan gets an Oscar nod for this. I think he has deserved more credit for his movies. Not on here of course, but in Hollywood and in the media. :yay:
