Day one I’m doing a Senate hearing where the government is saying the Iron Man tech needs to be turned over to the Senator and the Senator is Gary Shandling. And we had this fantastic day that was somehow this controlled chaos of a Senate hearing where I keep interrupting them and dah dah dah.

I sure did follow'em. But he was using MySpace then and the updates were much more rare. This Twitter thing is a big improvement, IMO.

Yes, something like viral marketing would be nice, but it's not necessary. When did TDk's viral campaign get started anyway? Wasn't it in the summer of 2007? If so then IM2 still has time to do like-wise. THAT part of it is up to Paramount, not Marvel.

On Tony's screen to (our) left it looks like a taken apart Arc reactor chest piece.

The third armor looks like the suit that got trashed at the end of the 1st Iron Man movie in the fight with Iron Monger.

The last suit looks like it basically the same but there are subtle changes to the suit.

How do you make that leap in logic? He wanted to make sure no one else got their hands on it, but one of a kind? I don't see it. This is classic Stark. Whenever he gets his ass kicked he uses the experience to LEARN and improve his designs so that it doesn't happen again. With the set-up that this pic suggests he'll never have to go into a fight with an underpowered suit again. I mean that's a very easy lesson to learn.

It was in the Sector 16 area under the large scale arc reactor. Iron Monger smashes it to bits along with the Shield agents when he makes his big entrance. Then the whole place blows up at the end. But that doesn't mean Tony couldn't sift through the rubble and piece it back together again. It is HIS property after all.

Eventually, yes with an artificial heart. But when they do that they need to do a DIAB, thereby swapping the damaged heart weakness for the alchoholism weakness.

I see some subtle differences in the two red/gold suits.
The suit on the right seems to have "trunks" that are cut a bit higher on the thighs.
The suit on the right also looks like the red on the lower legs goes up a bit higher.
The shoulders on the right don't seem as wide, but that could be a trick of perspective.
There also seems to be more of a curve at the point where the chest piece meets the abdominal piece.

Good pic to release, that way we can tear it down for the next year or so...

That would be cool. Some Stark Industries websites, mock U.S. intelligence websites for whatever War Machine is going to have to battle, etc.

There's no guarantee that War Machine will be in the second movie. They're taking their time and holding off on DIAB. They could do the same with WM as well. Heck it's much more likely that Rhodes will become Iron Man for a spell before he ever becomes WM.

Agreed, Rhodes didn't become War Machine right away, he actually took up the Iron Man mantle while Stark was dealing with his alcholism, as a matter of fact Rhodes was wearing the Iron Man armor during Marvel first big event Secret War.
Rhodes didn't get the War Machine armor until the mid-90's.

Well, to be honest, that's the color red she has in the comics, which in itself is NOT a natural red hair color.

You can see several differences in the red armor on the right and the one on the left. The one on the right is much brighter, has less padding under and around the shoulders, and the legs are pointy and curved. Also, whats that blue triangle thing on the silver one? Also look around the crotch area. There's something there.

Well I remember chuckling to myself at seeing a few people kind of saying how it was copying TDK in regard to getting an updated suit when Favreau mentioned something about refining the suit.

Not at all. They've already talked about it as a subject with a lot of dramatic potential. Hero vs. a villain is all well and good but a hero vs. an out of control hero is golden as far as potential goes. Throw in the fact that the out of control hero has more of an advantage in the fight(more advanced armor) plus the fact that the in control, disadvantaged hero isn't out to kill him but rather subdue him since he's a friend and you've got the makings of a helluva set piece.

I remember the interview being that Favreau said Howard was casted before Favreau was even signed on as director. Marvel casted Howard not Favreau and it is true that Favreau wasn't happy with Howard's performance. So I am guessing Cheadle is Favreau's own casting.
