i like her

she writes 95% of the stuff she sings, if not more

i worked her concert last year and she put on a good show, she's very thankful and humble about her fame

She's definitely not country! She's teen pop. Which is why she's always on Disney Channel.

I agree that's not an excuse to call her great, but you still gotta give her credit for doing something very few teen stars do.

that's the point i was trying to make. for her age to be writing and producing as much as she does, that's pretty rare these days.

i think i read somewhere she did one of her music videos on her laptop

I love Taylor Swift and her music. I have both of her albums and think she's great. She sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the rest of my favorite artists, but the fact that she can actually be classified as an artist rather than a product is enough to get me hooked. And I think, her songs, though simplisitc in lyrical terms, hold a lot of depth, wit and relatibility, espeically for my age groups.

Not a fan of either, so yeah..."Love Story" was particularly painful to listen to.

But if she does do most of her writing/producing, then I gotta give her props for that, when most pop starlets are a dime a dozen--at least she's just unententially dime a dozen. :yay:

Frank might be a little ticked that "Love Story" has the same amount of plays as "I've Got You Under My Skin."

If you scroll by 'Artists' on my Ipod, you will find Taylor Swift comfortably positioned between Tay Zonday and The Teen Kings (an early band featuring Roy Orbison).

i thought her comedic skits at the beginning of the award show were very funny, the rap video the cream of the crop

i don't think she has an amazing voice either, but i think she could do well if she ever tried to venture out to acting. she was on an episode of CSI

I'd heard her name thrown around a few times, but I had no clue who she was until recently. There's this "Teardrops on My Guitar" song that plays over the PA system at work all the time, and it's pretty damn catchy. Pretty much every employee (myself included) sings along to the chorus. It's insane.

Hold up. I'd heard "Love Story" at work the other day (pretty song, btw), and there's a part where she says "You were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter." Really? A Scarlet Letter reference makes her sound a little like a whore.

To be honest, I really dislike her music. But that rap song with T-Pain is hilarious and she does deserve credit for being marginally talented to the point where she can write her own songs and play her own music. In today's music industry, that's something.

So, did John Mayer have sex with her cause she wrote a song about him.

Dear John/I see it all now that you’re gone/Don’t you think I was too young/To be messed with/The girl in the dress/Cried the whole way home/I should’ve known.”
“It was wrong/Don’t you think nineteen’s too young/To be played/By your dark, twisted games/When I loved you so.”
“My mother accused me of losing my mind/But I swore I was fine.”
“You’ll add my name to your long list of traitors who don’t understand/And I’ll look back in regret I ignored what they said/’Run as fast as you can’.”

This girl always seems to write a song about an ex-boyfriend, which means either they're a bunch of jerks or there's something wrong with her.

I guess if you date Taylor Swift and the two of you break up, be prepared to have a song done about you.

Now always....."Mine" is about what she hopes for...very cool song.

I like the fact that she is so open in her writing, I understand why her fans love her so much, they not only can sing her music, dance to her music, but they can relate to it as well....and yet not feel like she's dumbing it down for them.....is straight forward, to the point, nothing held back.

I love the song "Better Than Revenge" ....

Most say it was for Camilla Bella because it is said that she went after Joe Jonas when he started dating Swift....then oddly enough Camilla went after Jake Gullenhaal soon after he started seeing Swift...

So apparently there is no love loss....

I was listening to the song on my way to work for the first time, when it came to the "mattress" line I spit my coffee all over my steering wheel and busted out laughing.....
