"Batman's biggest fan, BatMite, is also his biggest nightmare when the 5th dimensional imp pops up and in an effort to make Batman a better hero, throws Gotham City into chaos. Kidnapping the Dark Knight and traveling to the surreal 5th dimension, the adventure continues with references to many of the classic villains."
The episode was written by Paul Dini and directed by Ben Jones.
The voice cast includes Diedrich Bader as Batman, Paul Reubens as Bat-Mite Dee Bradley Baker as Bathound, Jim Piddock as Calendar Man/Calendar King and Tom Wilson as Catman.
Airing: May 29
---------------------------
The tone of this series has practically demanded a Bat-Mite appearance. I can't wait for the antics in the 5th Dimension. This should be good.
Craveonline.com has some previews but the audio is ****ed up on them. :(

The clips at Craveonline.com look awesome. Actually, now I'm sad I spoiled myself the villain sequence. I have a list of them, so unless you don't want to be horribly spoiled, click on the spoiler tag.
The villans in the "trippy" sequence are The Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Two-Face, Mad Hatter, Killer Moth, Catman, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Kite Man, Polka-Dot Man, Zebra Man, and Tiger Shark.
There's also an appearance from Calendar Man, but he's not in the sequence.

I noticed that when someone told me (I remebered the naming off all of the villains like "Snake Eyes" but completely forgot about the chase secene.) I want to see this episode SO bad, the "Duck Twacy" scene and the Comic book convention are so full of win.

I just remembered, and I don't know HOW I could have forgotten this, but...One of the Duck Twacy villians in that original Daffy Duck cartoon was a character with a baseball bat for a head called...wait for it...

05-29-2009, 09:08 PM
^That would be a little on the nose considering the cartoon roles he plays nowadays, but if they make it more interesting, maybe.
I'm almost dary to make a topic B:TAS vs. BTBaTB But lets wait for some more outrageous awesomeness of this show, god damn we need more Catman tbh!
GamerSlyRatchet
05-29-2009, 10:00 PM
At the starting teaser, Batman stops the villainous Catman from selling a tiger in the black market. When things get tough, he calls Ace the Bat-Hound for help. This was a pretty awesome teaser. For someone who's cat-inspired, Catman sure doesn't care about them. A fun teaser that, like the other, tie into the main episode.
As for the main episode, this is probably the best episode of the season since "Trials of the Demon!". Paul Reubens as Bat-Mite was very fun, and the whole head trip was just fun. The Comic-Con jab was a perfect parody on so many levels, and we even see the show's staff as themselves, as well as Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. The fan-service was just oozing, from references to B:TAS to Adam West Batman, to Schumacher Batman, and even Miller's Batman.
Not to say the whole episode depended on fan-service. The script, written by Paul Dini, is entertaining and funny, something this show also kinda lacked in this season. Bat-Mite was portrayed as both a hero and villain appropiately.
See appearances from Gorilla Grodd, Solomon Grundy, Shaggy Man, and Calendar Man in the beginning, to the Rainbow Beast in the monster scene (look it up), and the "Duck Twacy" parody with Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Catman, Two-Face, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Killer Moth, Mr. Zero, Zebra-Man, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and Tiger Shark. Copperhead also makes a quick cameo near the brilliant ending.
Overall, lots of fun!
NEXT WEEK: First, Batman and Green Arrow go on a car chase against the Joker, which later switches to the skies when Catwoman joins the fun! Then, Red Tornado creates a son, Tornado Champion, that has human feelings. Things complicate when Major Disaster attacks, and the Champion's feelings cause it to become the evil Tornado Tyrant!

I liked the Robin episode but I have to say that about 80% of the villains and the heroes Batman teams up with I have never heard of. Like the villain The Quilt from last week. I was thinking, is this for real? Was there an actual villain like this in the comics?

Yep, most of the villains are Silver Age bad guys from the "Brave and the Bold" comic which wa about Batman teaming up with these guys. Now luckily they do redesigns on some of the villains to make them more menacing/ridicilous like the calculator being a fat man living in his mother's basement. :D

What a great episode! The easter eggs, pretty much already listed, were overwhelming. The costume bit had me rolling; 60's version=too campy, B&R version=too icky, DKR version=too psycho. Even though I'd already seen the clip, I had to pause and rewind to make sure I didn't miss the next scene. :D
This was different in tone from Trials of the Demon, Deep Cover for Batman or Game Over for Owlman (either of which I would have cited as my favorite ep) but I don't think anything was more fun and better executed than this. It's tops for me.
The end look on Green Arrow's face is priceless. :funny:

That's a direct reference to the TNBA episode, Joker's Millions, in which he is holding auditions for a new Harley Quinn, and one of the auditionees is a fat man in a Harley suit.
Also, IM SO GLAD THEY CHANGED THE SHAPE OF CATWOMAN'S FACE FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!!!

Yes, and in that episode the joke was ALSO that it was Paul Dini, hence the addition of Bruce Timm as a grumpy Joker saying "meh" next to an ecstatic Dini.

I rather thought of it as a really good episode.
I noticed that the animators are using the old designs back in the 50's or whenever they first was created~ like Riddler and Joker, me and my friend were surprised that Mr. Zero was his real name, we always thought of him as Mr. Freeze.
