Let's face it: We all worry about characterization, development and such, but, in the end of the day, all that we really want it's some action! :woot:

So, I'm opening this thread so we can discuss Green Lantern's action scenes. I, having read the Script, was going to add a poll, but I'd like those who didn't read it to participate as well, so, If we're going to talk about the Script, let's use Spoiler tags, Ok? :cwink: I'll also not add the poll so I won't spoil anyone.

The action scenes present in the first draft of the Script are:

. Abin Sur VS. Legion in Space.
. Hal Jordan VS. the Sabre jets.
. Hal Jordan VS. Huge mother**cking boyfriend and his huge mother**cking friends.
. Hector Hammond's bank robbery.
. Green Lantern saves the jet in the Ferris Aircraft air show.
. Green Lantern VS. Hector Hammond in the Smithsonian aerospacial museum.
. Green Lantern Corps VS. Legion.
. Hal Jordan VS. Legion.
. Green Lantern Corps VS. Sabre jets.
. Hal Jordan VS. Hector Hammond.

For those who read it: What's your favorite action scene? And your least favorite? Did you liked how the action was developed? What would you change and why?

For those who didn't read it: What action scenes you'd like to see? How should the action be handled and why? etc...

Discuss. :woot:

Sounds like the movie will have plenty of action, they all sound like they have the potential to be cool. But while I love a good action scene, characterisation and story are more important IMO.

Except for the Bank Robbery, I believe they all have the potential to be awesome.

Damn, about 8 action setpieces? Most comic book movies have like three main ones.

1st - encounter the villain, they both get a feel for each other

2nd - they fight again, this time to a stalemate

3rd - villain is extremely over powered and has a trump card, hero gets beat down, yet comes back

I say they need to cut it out or rewrite that darn scene.

I agree. It's pointless. I feel it was only put there to put some action on the "stale" part of the Script.

We know that Cooper is a bad choice for Hal / GL. Thats what we know alright.

really whats wrong with the guy cause if its just because he has done comedies that is a bad reason, and according to reports campbell is doing a wide search and hasnt picked his hal yet. So untill their is a confirmation on anyone we shouldnt complain much. Plus we have no clue how said person who is picked is going to look as the character and how he would end up playing the character.

Well lets hope that search is really a wide one and Cooper isn't a lock for GL/Hal.

Dev, you have this 'anti cooper' campaign going on. I know that you don't like the guy man.

well lets look at it they were looking at gosling before and he declined, they looked at casey affleck and he declined. Then we have the rumors of pine/worthington, and now bradley. So i am not going to go crazy on hal casting to we have a solid confirmation from an actor/campbell or the studio.

to be honest, as much as I like Cooper, I thought that Gosling and Casey Affleck would have been good choices, if not better.

Yea they are good young growing talents and probably would have made solid leads for hal.

protocida

They are good actors, but they don't physically match.

The Street Fight could also be more serious.
