Screen Name: Eddie Brock

Character you would like to play: Scott Summers / Cyclops

Powers: Scott possesses the mutant ability to convert solar energy into powerful concussive blasts from his eyes. In addition, he is a highly trained fighter and marksman. Scott is also an expert tactician and natural-born leader.

Brief biography of the character's history: Scott Summers was just an orphan living in Omaha, Nebraska, when Professor Charles Xavier found him. The Professor knew of Scott's mutant abilities and presented Scott with a solution to his control issues: a pair of glasses made with ruby quartz lenses. The Professor offered Scott a place in his Academy in Westchester, New York, where Scott could live free from persecution. Scott, with the help of his glasses, learned to use his powers and proved himself as a formidable fighter. Eventually, he was appointed as the leader of a top-secret team of mutants known as the X-Men. Operating out of the school, Scott and the X-Men serve to protect the world from dangerous mutants as well as offering safe haven to others like them.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: The X-Men are a non-entity (but with the state of the game right now, who isn't?), and if we ever want to solve that problem, it starts at the top with Cyclops. Because they're almost virtually untouched, the X-Men have a wealth of storylines just waiting for them.

What can you bring to this game?: Yet another sucker ready to try his hand at reviving the One Universe's X-Men, but at the least I'll put together some decent stories as well as some semblance of a solidified team roster.

I step onto the Blackbird, the sound of my boots against the metal floor filling the expanded cabin. Behind me, Jean Grey makes her way to her seat along the cabin wall. I march to the front of the cockpit and turn on my heels, facing my team. The X-Men. I give a quick nod, making sure I've got their undivided attention.

"Alright, team, you've all been briefed, but let's review one more time," I begin, instinctively standing at Parade Rest before them - feet shoulder-width apart, arms folded behind my back. "This is a standard search-and-retrieval mission. Our--"

Piotr - or Peter - Rasputin, alias: Colossus, clears his throat before interrupting, "Pardon me, but is Wolverine going to be joining us on this mission?" There's a curious mutter of interest among the other X-Men as they survey the cockpit, seeing that Wolverine is indeed absent.

"Logan has taken an extended leave-of-absence starting today," I report. I resist the urge to add, "Good riddance." Wolverine is a loose cannon, and though the Professor continues to vouch for him, I'm not so sure where his loyalties lie. Simply put, he's not the kind of person I feel comfortable being in the trenches with.

"But I just saw him this morning," chimes in Kurt Wagner, alias: Nightcrawler.

"And he left shortly thereafter," I answer curtly. Jean catches my gaze with those green eyes of hers, and I realize I'm taking out my frustration on the team. Taking a deep breath, I continue, "Our target is an eighteen year-old girl. Birth name unknown, but she calls herself Rogue."

Bobby Drake, alias: Iceman, elbows Kurt in the ribs. "Sounds hot."

Ignoring that, I say, "The target is a leech. If she comes into physical contact with you, she will absorb your powers, your memories...even your thoughts." The X-Men fall silent at that. "Prolonged contact can have dire consequences. She is believed to be responsible for the hospitalization of eight civilians and one mutant."

~A young mutant with control issues. I now see why you wanted to take this mission.~

You never really get used to hearing other people in your head.

"Our orders are simple. We bring in Rogue peacefully, if possible. As always, lethal force is not authorized, so if she resists, our priority is to take her down as quickly and safely as possible." I unfold my arms. "Any questions?"

Character you would like to play: Richard John "Dick" Grayson/Robin

Powers: No powers, but Dick is one of the world's best acrobats and trained by Batman himself in a variety of martial arts, hand to hand combat techniques, criminology and various stuffs.

Brief biography of the character's history:

Working as a travelling circus acrobat for "The Flying Graysons" trapeze act with his mother and father, Dick Grayson's life was put to a catastrophic halt as his parents, while performing at Oliver Queen's mansion for a private show, were killed when the rampaging beast known as The Incredible Hulk interfered. Feeling sympathy for the boy's newly orphaned state, particularly because of how his own parents were shot down infront of him at a young age, Bruce Wayne took the orphaned Grayson and adopted him, making his new home in the corrupted Gotham City. Though Wayne was an exceptional guardian in most respects, Grayson began to question his late night absences, until he finally discovered the truth: Wayne was, in actuality, The Batman, a cape and cowled vigilante fighting for justice within Gotham. Wanting to help his new guardian in the fight, a result of feeling his parents were also taken away by the evil's of the world, Grayson became Batman's protege and crimefighting partner...Robin, The Boy Wonder.

Fast-forward a few years later, and Dick is now patrolling the streets of Gotham as Robin and has accept membership into the teenage supergroup known as the Titans.


List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: I'm a huge fan of the Bat-family, Robin, especially Dick Grayson, is my second favorite character in DC right behind ole pointy-ears himself. And I had a blast the last time I played Robin, I want to keep on keeping on.

What can you bring to this game?: An RPer with a love of Batman mythos and a regular RPer who has four years experience in these games.

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Bold Tahoma and red for Robin, unbold it for Dick

This is Bruce's idea of a good time. Spending a Saturday afternoon at a greasy resturant.

I close my eyes and wait for his next words.

"Now, tell me how many hats there are in the room."

Another training exercise, Bruce trying to improve on my detective skills.

"Okay. There's one on the sad sack sitting at the bar drinking beer, I noticed the tan line on his ring finger and the tear in his eye, wife must have left him. Then there's the kid wearing a lame trucker hat shooting pool, he's been getting robbed all day since he holds his stick all wrong. The bartender has a dirty brown cowboy hat on complete with a chewing tobacco stain on his shirt, someone has bad aim. The waitress has on a Yankees hat along with a I Love New York t-shirt. She's had to just come back from vacation. That's four hats."

"You lose."

My eyes snap open in shock and I look at Bruce.

"What?"

He reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a black baseball cap.

"Five hats."

"You cheated!"

"No I didn't. You saw me pick it up off the table before we left the manor and put it in my pocket. That should have been the first hat you named off. That's day one stuff, Dick."

"You still cheated."

"No I didn't. And even if I did, what makes you think than any of the people we fight will play by the rules? Remember, this isn't a game. You don't get to press restart once you die, this is for keeps."

I just stare at him as he stares back. Both of us unblinking and unyielding.

"Now, finish your hamburger."

Kal-El's ship found its way to Earth, where the child was discovered by Jonathan and Martha Kent, simple farmers in the middle of Kansas.

Under Earth's yellow sun, Kal-El - now known as Clark Kent - developed many extraordinary abilities. To protect himself from a world that wasn't ready for him, Clark buried his secret behind an unassuming farmboy persona and a pair of thick-rimmed glasses. Clark honed his abilities on the farm, preparing himself to meet his destiny.

When Clark grew from boy to man, he left Smallville behind and moved to the big city of Metropolis. I don't think anyone can appreciate the miracle of each new day until they've experienced one on a farm. Mornings on a farm are always surreal experiences - the kind that make you feel lucky to be alive.

I toss my sheet aside and slink out of bed. My back cracks as I stretch, my fingertips gently grazing the ceiling. After throwing on a red flannel shirt and some jeans, I make my bed meticulously. It may have been years since I performed this routine, but it still comes naturally to me.

I snatch my cell phone off the dresser and examine it.

I half-expected her to not even notice I was gone.

I slowly descend the stairs into the kitchen, where Ma is already hard at work preparing a hearty breakfast. The smell is nothing short of intoxicating. Pa is seated at the table with today's copy of The Daily Planet. He sees me out of the corner of his eye and looks up. "Morning, son."

Pulling out a chair, I sit down and respond, "Morning." I turn to Ma. "What smells so good?"

Smiling, Ma explains, "Garden omelettes, bacon, and hash browns." As she speaks, she flips the omelettes with a spatula. The frying pan sizzles, and I nearly salivate.

"She's not up yet?" I ask. I'm not surprised. She's a teenager. I mean, I always got up early on the weekends, but Kara's not like me. She didn't grow up on a farm. For that matter, she didn't grow up on Earth, either. "I'll let her sleep in," I announce to no one in particular. I reach across the table and grab the front page of the newspaper while Pa reads the sports.

I smile again when I see Lois's name in the byline.

Powers: Teleportation, superhuman agility/dexterity, prehensile tail, expert fencer

Brief biography of the character's history: After being brought to America as a mutant slave, Kurt is freed by Batman and Woverine. He is the sent to Xavier's School for the gifted. After going to Gotham and teaming with Robin, Shadowcat, and Starfire, he stops The Penguin's mutant slave trade. He is then assimilated into the new X-Men, helping to defeat Magneto's mutant army.

This season, Kurt, along with the other X-Men have expanded their team with missions all across the globe to find new students for the Xavier Institute. Most recently, he was dispatched on a solo mission to Brazil, where he uncovered a land lost in time, and he brought back the mutant now now as Magma, whom he is helping to assimilate into modern society.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: He's my first character I've ever played, and I've honestly missed writing him. He's such a fun character.

What can you bring to this game?: A blue, furry, elf-boy.

I appear on top of the hulking metal beast that has been attacking my friends and I for the past hour. I unsheathe my sword and drive it through the back of the machine's head, which quickly sends a powerful electric shock through my body.

I fall off of the machine fairly dazed, and unable to teleport. Luckily, Colossus catches me mid fall, "Vhat would you do without me, comrade?"

"I have no idea," I chuckle, rubbing my head.

"Enough!" a voice calls, and the cityscape around us disappears and is replaced by a metallic room, known as the Danger Room. Pete and I look up and see our new combat instructor, Magneto, standing over us. "You would tand no chance against the Sentinels if Luthor decided to send them against us."

Powers: None, save for being one of the smartest people on the planet, and holding the office of President of the United States.

Brief biography of the character's history: Once the famed Golden Boy of Metropolis, Luthor became envious of the adoration for the new breed of superheroes - those who could fly, not play the stock market. His jealousy of these heroes, especially Superman, led him to increasing levels of paranoia and vindictiveness. By far his most successful plan to date, Luthor ran in the presidential election, winning by a small minority. Now in his first term of power, Luthor has collected a number of paramilitary groups, mercenaries, and even the Avengers themselves, and he plans to save the world. The human way.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: I do feel a real need to play in this game, and I think that each major arc should have a PC'd villain.

SHIELD Laboratory

It was a masterpiece, and he knew it. The Sentinel program was a success of the American Dream. Grand, impressive, cheap, effective, mass produced robots enforcing peace and the American way. Of course, Stark had shown him up in public, and that couldn't be tolerated for long. But still, the Sentinel program was a success, and once again placed the United States at the top of the international arms market.

"Is it ready?" Luthor asked tersely, his heels clicking as he walked through the dimmly lit lab.

"Yes sir," one of the technicians said, half bowing, half shuffling beside him. Pathetic.

Of course, the Sentinel program was only on a large scale. On a smaller, more delicate scale it required something...a bit more finite. It was the only one of it's kind, constructed by skilled craftsmen from around the world. Later on he would see if Waller could have them rounded up and shot. He did not need his secrets passed around like notes in the back of an infants classroom.

Oh, but it was so beautiful. It put him on a par with those...creatures and abominations that were attempting to control his world. Our world, he should say. Some of them he had the upmost respect for. Stark, for example, was a peak of human intellect, and easily able to contend with the aliens and sub-humans that he hung around with. If he weren't a pathetic drunk, Luthor may have attempted to draft him onto his cabinet.

The machine itself was...outstanding. The original blueprints he had obtained from Obidiah Stane, but he had fiddled about with it since then. Replaced a weapons system there, a control system there...and of course the rock located next to the power source. That was very important. The secret weapon. And he was not arrogant enough to believe that he should construct it from LexCorp tech alone; nor even the military. No, no, there was a bit of Stark Industries in there, a dash of Wayne Enterprises, even a circuit board or two from Kord.

The suit radiated power, and he put his hand on it's cold shoulder, as he would have done a child. He pressed a button and the interior computer came online. He grinned.

"Hello beautiful," he whispered.

Screen Name: Blacklight

Character you would like to play: Peter Benjamin Parker; The Amazing Spider-Man

Powers: Able to cling to any surface, enhanced agility and reflexes, disproportionate strength, "Spider senses" that allow him to sense dangers that approach him. He also was able to create webshooters to dispense artificial webbing he was able to synthesize himself, and using said webbing he's able to swing around the city (his preferred method of transportation).

Brief biography of the character's history: Peter was just 15 when he was bitten by a radioactive spider that endowed him with various arachnid abilities as well as the knowledge needed to create his own biodegradable web compound and wrist mounted 'web shooters' to go with it.

At first, Peter used his powers for selfish reasons, until his own selfish acts led to his Uncle Ben's murder. Since then he's used his powers responsibly and helped to protect his hometown of New York City from crime as Spider-Man.

Recently, he's broken up with longtime girlfriend Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) and began a relationship with Gwen Stacy, his high school crush. He's also been wearing a fabric version of his black suit after the recent events that lead to the destruction of Stamford, CT.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: After many missed opportunities, I'm ready to play Spider-Man again, for I've never had as much fun in the RPGs since I played him in Ultimate. Spider-Man is a longtime favorite character of mine, if not my all-time favorite.

What can you bring to this game?: The usual: Reliable posting, writing I put my heart and soul into as well as some fun-filled arcs I hope you all like taking part in.

Damn you, Luthor. Damn you to hell...

After a rather... displeasing day at school, to which Flash Thompson heavily contributed, I came home just in time to catch our 'Commander in Chief' Lex Luthor's latest press conference where he re-instated the Sentinel Program and he was trying to initiate his Superhuman Registration Act on the news. It took all I had to keep from throwing my remote through the TV screen in anger. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, all the news channels kept showing the scandals surrounding the League courtesy of Hank Pym, and instantly I knew it was ALL Luthor's doing. He's clearly trying to trash their reputations... More than likely so the public will lean more towards his Avengers as opposed to us.

I keep playing all the news reports, as well as the press conference in my head over and over, realizing that Luthor's not playing around. He's going all out on this one.

Having his lead man trash the JLA, only to introduce his own twisted analogue to them. It makes me sick. But as much as I hate that man with every fiber, every molecule of my genetic makeup, for Gwen's and Aunt May's sake, I have to leave those matters up to the big boys and stay out of it. As much as the League can use mine and the Titans' help, I can't instigate Luthor into targeting me. I just have to go about my own thing, and hope for the best...

And as such, I'm going about my normal activities as planned.

"Hey, buddy! The Flash called... He wants his gimmick back."

Or rather my not-so-normal activities.

"I'll make you eat those words..." The lightning-emblazoned criminal snarled as I fell gracefully from my webline and landed before him.

"Ooh... I'm so scared!" I sarcastically remarked, "No wonder why your name is Speed Demon..."

In a scarlet-navy blur of speed, he charged at me, which was enough to send a painful message from my spider-sense to my head, and my reflexes made me jump up and stick to an adjacent wall.

Looking up at me and noticing how I'm no longer in his line of fire, he stopped.

"Come back down here and fight like a man!"

"Y'know, all you villains are the same... Always wanting me to come down and fight like a 'man'. How about you come up here and fight like a spider!?"

Now, when I said that, I totally forgot that when you have superspeed, you can defy gravity...

"Fine. If you insist..."

...which means he can run up walls.

"Oh crud..."

BIFF!

"OOF!"

The super-speeding punch sent me skidding up the side of the building. Something of which caused a lot of friction between the brick and my costume, and made things more painful as it burned a quite a bit. I soon regained my bearings, however, when I jumped off the wall and fired a strand of webbing on the flagpole nearby so as to swing myself around, regaining my momentum. I released it to land safely on the roof of a car in the street below... But in seconds, he was already standing before me, leaving a gale in his wake.

"Miss me?"

"Double crud..."

Something tells me that despite how fast this guy is, this is going to be a really really really really long fight.

I was coming on here to drop out of 1U, only to find I've already been removed from the roster!

I had run out of all spark for Iron Man. Really, the only reason I was keeping him was so as not to leave Karem-Knight high and dry after the arc we had planned together. But now he's gone too, so that's not even a problem. I hate to contribute to The Curse of Iron Man in this game, but I just couldn't carry on with him.

Thor is a harder one to drop. I had really big plans for him this season, and I think if I'd been able to follow through it could have been some of my best work. And that's why I was trying to hold onto him, despite failing to get motivated to post. But no, I don't think I can do my planned arc justice, not if it's posting just to stay in the game. So with a heavy heart, I drop Thor too.

It may not be goodbye. I left 1U back in Season 1 after having a great time playing Lex Luthor, then came back in Season 2. So maybe there'll be a comeback down the line. But for now, I feel like I just can't devote the time and effort this great game deserves. Sorry guys.

Brief biography of the character's history: After being the victim of a brutal missile attack, resulting in many shards of shrapnel being lodged into his heart, Tony Stark became a prisoner, forced to build weapons for the terrorists that held him captive, until he built a device that managed to keep the shrapnel from reaching his heart, and with it, an extraordinary suit of armor that he used to escape imprisonment and begin his superhero career as the Invincible Iron Man.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: Iron Man is hands down one of my favorite Marvel superheroes, and playing him once more would be my honor.

What can you bring to this game?: I was hoping I could bring a darn good Tony Stark.

"I've decided that I'm not going to wait for you any longer... I've met someone, and even though I was going to wait for you to put a stop to your drinking, I can't anymore. I love him... and I'm taking time off from the League to be with him. I'm sorry..."

"End of message..."

Tony didn't say a word. All this time wasted he thought, and for what? I stop drinking for her, and she's leaving me anyways... Way to go, Tony. Way to go...

But I guess it was inevitable he figured. I mean, I almost just had a relapse as it is. What with Fury highjaking my Human Torch android, and my near quitting the League. I was just about ready to open that bottle up and chug it down whole. Who says it wouldn't have happened after me and Dinah got back together?

Tony sighed as he leaned back in his chair. Trying to hold back the tears... Because whether or not it was meant to be between him and Dinah Lance, it still hurt him... Deep down.

"Sir..." Edwin Jarvis interrupted, after entering his employers office.

"What is it, Jarvis?" Tony Stark replied, still focusing his eyes on the records handed to him from his faithful secretary of his latest sales.

"There's a phonecall on line-one from a Miss Virginia Potts for you, sir."

"Thank you, Jarvis."

Tony sighed before he pressed the button on his telephone that sat patiently on his desk, and bringing the reciever to his ear.

"Mr. Stark?"

"Yes, Pepper?"

"I just recieved a phonecall from a Whitney Frost regarding a proposition she wanted to run by you. Should I arrange a meeting?"

"Sir..." Jarvis interrupted again.

"Hold on a sec, Pep..." Tony asked, covering the mouthpiece with his hand. "What now, Jarvis?"

Jarvis simply pointed to the wall-sized window behind Tony, and Tony turned around in his chair to see a small explosion down below, and a man with a red and silver suit of armor, similar to his own, nearby. Tony quickly removed his hand from the mouthpiece in haste...

"Pepper? You still there?"

"Yes, Tony."

"Good. Tell this Whitney person that I'm available Friday, and while you're at it, cancel all meetings for the next couple hours. Someone apparently needs an ass-kicking..."

"Yes, Mr. Stark." she finished, hanging up on her end, before Tony did the same.

"Jarvis..."

"Yes, Mr. Stark?"

"Prepare the suit." Tony stated, getting up from his desk.

"Yes, sir. Anything else, sir?"

"Yeah..." Tony said, pulling a secret lever on his office wall, revealing the entrance to his Iron Man lab.

"Get me a scotch. Something tells me I'm gonna need it..." Tony Stark asked his faithful butler, figuring that there was no more reason to stay sober.

Despite his heart being broken and shattered, there was still a job to do, and Tony Stark knew it would be a job for the Invincible Iron Man.

Character you would like to play: Jessica Belle Chambers aka Jesse Quick

Powers: Superhuman Strength: She possesses super strength like her mother.
Super Speed: Using her father's formula "3x2(9yZ)4A" she is able to move super fast and to turn it off she can speaks the formula "Z25Y(2AB)6." She was eventually able to solve the formula.
Flight: She can fly by running at super-speed and then lunching into flight.
Phasing: She can vibrate her atoms at such a high speed that they can slip past atoms of solid objects.

Brief biography of the character's history:

Jesse Chambers is the daughter of the Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. She was born in Queens, New York after the two young lovers quickly wed at a young age. Jesse was never really torn up over her parents' divorce, as she was very young. While growing up she eventually learned how to access the speed force using her father's mantra. She had also managed to master her super strength and the ability to phase and fly through her speed.

Hearing about her mother and father's adventures in the Invaders back in WWII, Jesse was inspired by their heroic acts and was fascinated how they fought alongside the world's greatest hero, Captain America. Jesse was trained by her mother in the skills of hand-to-hand combat and trained by her father on how to perfect her speed. She soon decided she too wanted to become a hero herself, embarking on brave missions, always going solo. Her parents were reluctant at first, but after she proved herself that she was a hero of her own, they supported her 100%

During one of her late night outings, she met Nathan Heywood - Grandson of Commander Steel, one of the Invaders and her parents teammates. The two had an instant attraction, and it wasn't long before they fell in love. History was repeating itself as Jesse fell pregnant at just 19 - But all good things have to come to an end. After a brutal attack from The Fourth Reich -a group of Nazi's- Jesse was left highly wounded and Nathan was sent into a coma.

It wasn't long before Jesse discovered she had a miscarriage. The trauma got to her and she stopped being a hero, retired you could say. She started to rebuild her life and a year later - Nathan awoke from his coma and the two carried on their relationship.

List a few reasons why you have chosen this character: : Jesse is a great character to play as she's independent and has a lot of connections to various heroes, due to her relation to Liberty Belle and Johnny Quick.

What can you bring to this game?: A player who can take a character out of it's comfort zone and make it work.

Sitting next to my boyfriend on a crisp Friday night is just what I want right now. A busy day at the office is welcomed by a loving boyfriend with our favourite meal, Chinese. We fight over the remote, we share our food, she ask how our day was. Simple things, that normal couples do. But, of course, there's nothing normal in the life of Jessica Belle Chambers. My mother was Liberty Belle and my father was Johnny Quick. Two very different people with very different abilities...Who married.

But I guess I can thank them in some ways. If it wasn't form them and their friendship with Henry Heywood, I wouldn't of met Nathan - the love my life, the would be father of my child...The hero once known as Citizen Steel. But now, everything's...alright, you could say. But I do miss my heroic days. Short lived but certainly worth while. Nathan says he doesn't miss those days, but I know he does. He didn't have any abilities, but he was the best weapons marksman, the best fighter, I knew. His skills compared to mine and together we were unstopabble.

"I'm just going to let my hair down...I'll be in the bedroom. Back in a minute," I flash a smile at Nathan, giving him a soft kiss on his cheek.

I leave the sofa gently, placing my glass of wine down on the wooden table. I walk up the stairs and watch my reflection in the mirror. I sharply spin round, pulling the scrunchie out of my hair and throwing it onto the bed. I stare blankly above my wardrobe cupboard. A dark, dusty garment bag lays there, almost calling my name. I jump onto my bed, almost silently. I gracefully stretch up my arm, grabbing the garment bag and yanking it down from on top of the wardrobe cupboard. Blowing the dust off it, I carefully pull the zip down.

I breathe heavily before I can see the tight red fabric peaking through. I take the outfit out, running my hand down the smooth red top. I kneel down on the bed, pulling the beige boots close to my chest, taking a deep breathe in. Staring down at the black mask I once wore, I place it around my eyes once again, starring into the mirror infront of me. I stand up again, still on my bed. I place my hands on my hips, smirking as I suck in my stomach.

"Jesse Quick..."

Character you would like to play: Teth-Adam aka Black Adam

Powers: Using the powers of the Egyptian Gods, Adam gains super human strength, endurance, speed, flight and mind powers.

Brief biography of the character's history: Teth-Adam was the son of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II, and was chosen to be the wizard Shazam to be his champion and battle evil across the world, which he did for centuries. That is, until Adam, under the influence of Shazam's evil daughter Blaze, forcefully overthrew the government of Egypt and appointed himself ruler.

In response, Shazam stole Adam's powers from his body, which, being centuries old, withered to nothingness in seconds. Adam's power was stored in a scarab, which was discovered centuries later by one of his descendants, Theo Adam. Theo unleashed Black Adam's essence, and the god-like being took control of the country Khandaq, before President Luthor sent the Sentinels and Avengers to dethrone him.

Adam is now in the process of being broken out of a SHIELD facility in America.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: He can be a central figure in the current drama of the game, and allows for another side to the Luthor/JLA battle.

What can you bring to this game?: A nice anti-hero.

An explosion rocks the SHIELD compound as my eyes flutter open and adjust to the harsh, white light of a medical examination room. I quickly attempt to regain my footing, but the SHIELD mental destabilization is still affecting my motor skills.

I stumble, but am quickly propped up by a man dressed in a SHIELD uniform, "Be careful, lord Adam. It may take a few moments for you to regain your strength."

"Thank you," I reply, standing on my own. "What is your name, man?"

"Tehnet Hassan," he says, bowing his head.

"Then once this is over, you will be rewarded, Tehnet Hassan. So says Adam," I reply. "Now, stand back. I would not want you to be harmed."

He does so, leaving the room. I nod to him, look to the heavens, and yell, "SHAZAM!"

Hello everyone! I just recently started coming back to the hype after...well a long time. I just wanted to drop by and thank all of you for for continuing this game. You have no idea how much it means to me that so many people fell in love with this little brain spark I had one day, and have kept it going for years!

I have no idea on if I will be attempting to return to the game in the near future, but I will say that the idea has crossed my mind. I think back on all that I did here with you guys and it puts a smile on my face every time.

I will say that I am going to spend some time catching up all that you have done since I left. I have been reading some of it recently and I must admit I am VERY impressed. I will try to at least stick around the OOC thread so I can chat with you guys again. It has been a long time and I would love to hear how you are all doing.

I did. I need to get working on that, and I need to send a PM to some X-Men players. It depends entirely on what people to do. I can think of a way to end the arc now, or I can continue it onto next season. I've got rough plans for both, but since I think it's fairly major to the game I'd like some input from you guys.

Sure. I think Eddie and I are the only ones playing X-Men as of now.

I wouldn't mind going on a little longer, only for selfish reasons. I've got a short arc with Spidey and and Scorpion and a final post that sets up my next season plans. But again, I'll defer to the majority.

Okay, for all that haven't read the Soapbox thread in Approval/General Discussion, there's talk of ending(and then probably restarting) the big 3 RPGs as well as cleaning up the sections to get rid of struggling games in an overall strategy to reinvigorate the RPG section of Super Hero Hype.

I figured I'd start the discussion to decide whether or not we think it's a good idea here, and so that we can decide this early and give people time to set-up a final arc for characters. I know we've got a few more weeks here, but I think this should be decided before the end of the season.

Personally, I think it's a great idea. We've had a long run here, and the game deserves a nice send off. The posting has gone down recently, but the prospect of a farewell season has the possibility of bringing back old posters and some new posters as well. It also gives an opportunity for a fresh start. I'd love to be on the ground level for a new version of this game, which I would love to see incorporate Independent characters.

Well, I've said my peace, I'd love to hear what everyone has to say.

I support the idea. RPGs tend to get cluttered with continuity after a certain time, especially when you're talking about two universes' worth of characters. Also, my plans for Superman next Season translate well to a "last Season" mentality.

Wolverine crouched in the snow and raised his face to the bitter wind that was blowing around him. He growled as the unmistakable stench of his nemesis filled his nostrils and he began to run, letting the smell guide him. It was the same every year; Sabretooth would come to him, taunting him and leading him somewhere so they could fight. It was their yearly ritual and seemed to be Sabretooth's birthday 'present' to Logan. Logan was just thankful that Creed wasn't actually killing anyone this time; Silverfox's 'death' had been enough of a horrific birthday present for him. He was grateful that physical scars were the most he got from their fights, he had enough mental ones to last him a lifetime.

He cleared one of the snow covered hills and stopped, staring down at the monster that was waiting for him. Sabretooth was waiting, crouched and smirking. Logan hissed in anger, Sabretooth always did enjoy his discomfort.

"Took you long enough, thought I gonna actually freeze waitin' for you."

Sarcastic mother...Logan didn't get a chance to finish his thoughts as Sabretooth leapt at him, roaring. Logan stumbled backwards and slipped in the snow with Sabretooth on top of him, clawing at his face.

"I want to see your eyes when you DIE!"

Logan brought his knee up between Sabretooths legs and pushed the man off of him and above his head. Logan's claws popped out and he slammed one of his fists into Sabretooth's shoulder, feeling some grim satisfaction at the lack of resistance his adamantium met as it cut through skin and bone.

"Come on Creed, How many times have you tried this an' how many times have i kicked your teeth down your throat?!"

Sabretooth slashed at Logan's leg and ripped away his hamstring muscle. Creed leapt on top of the Canadian and for a while the two wrestled in the snow, neither gaining dominance over the tussle. Punches and kick's flew though the air, claws troe at flesh and Logan was right in his prediction as each claw swipe that Sabretooth gave him healed up into a nice scar for his ever-growing collection. Logan grabbed the back of Sabretooth's head long enough to headbutt him and crawl out from beneath the larger man. When he had finally gotten to his feet he kicked Sabretooth in the ribs and sent him flying through the snow.

"COME ON VICTOR! I'M RIGHT HERE! COME AND GET ME YOU SON OF A B*TCH!"

Logan watched Sabretooth rise to his knees and began marching towards his adversary, claws dripping with claret intensity. Sabretooth dusted the snow off of him and looked at Logan with eyes mixed with hatred and something else Logan couldn't put his finger on and didn't really want to. Creed smiled sinisterly and licked his lips.

"All talk as ever. I'm gonna rip your chest open and eat your damn heart, runt."

Sabretooth leapt at the smaller man, a feral roar erupting through the snow covered all around them. Wolverine rolled with it, throwing both claws into Creeds chest and rolling through to perch on top of him. Creed grabbed his throat and threw him off before leaping to his feet and advancing on the fallen X-Man. A boot smashed into Logans face three times, crushing an eye socket and partially blinding him. With a ferocious roar, Wolverine slammed his left fist in a jarring uppercut that caught Sabretooth directly in the crotch. Wolverine snarled and twisted as a devastating scream erupted from Sabretooths throat.

"Try healing those up, bub"

Sabretooth screamed and hurled obscenities as he felt the pain of his flesh and muscles knitting back together in such a sensitive part of his body. Logan stood; ready to give the killing blow only to be caught by a punch in the chin which caused him to stagger back. Sabretooth leapt out of Logan's range and smiled, still holding his wounded crotch.

"See you next year."

With that he turned heel and ran, knowing he had done all the damage he needed to do to Logan's mind. Logan went to give chase but his ruined eye and partially crushed skull forced him to stagger into a nearby tree. He wiped his mouth and stared back towards the town he had just left. Standing straight, he staggered back towards it, dreading his birthday next year.

Also, since I'm curious and you seem like a good writer, where'd you find out about the RPGs? The only reason I ask is because we've been trying to recruit new members lately and a few of us have went on RPG ad sites promoting the hype.

Wolverine helped fight off Darkseid's invasion in season one with the help of the newly formed Justice League.

In season 2 and 3, he took on the persona of Darkclaw, and patrolled Gotham as the new Batman while Bruce went undercover to expose an underground mutant slave ring. Oh yeah, he knows Bruce and Dick are Batman and Robin.


That's the key stuff that I can remember. His history is still as much a mystery as it used to be in the comics. Just with some DC flavor thrown in. Fighting with Cap and the Justice Society in WWII. Living in Japan. Weapon X. Mutual hatred with Sabretooth.

Actually, his history has remained rather mysterious, with the exception of plenty of fights with Creed. He's an X-Man and one of the teachers at the mansion, although he's been away for a while (since no one played him).

there's probably minor things, like his time with the X-Men, that I'm forgetting.

Probably not. That's something I brought up as an idea and it wasn't too popular.

However, wieg and I have been throwing around the idea to make a new "From the Pages Of..." but having it only include original comic characters instead of the last game that had every character that had ever been in a comic, even if they did not originate there.

Character you would like to play: Remy Lebeau/Gambit

Powers: The ability to use kinetic energy to 'charge' and object, causing it to explode. A skilled thief and formidable opponent with a Bo Staff.

Brief biography of the character's history: Little is known about Remy Lebeau, other than that he was born in the French quarter of New Orleans. He has had allegiances to both mutant geneticist Mr Sinister and the X-Men.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: My favourite comic book character of all time. Hands down, you can have your Spidey and your Batman, I'll take the Ragin' Cajun thanks.

What can you bring to this game?: One more poster and a Cajun accent.

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Georgia. Purple

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As many as needed

Remy smiled sheepishly as the girl laughed.

"Tell ya what though hotshot, buy me a drink and we'll forget what you just said, kay?".

"Works for me!" Remy grinned, and turned on his heel and marched to the bar.

Squeezing into a spot near the end of the bar Remy leaned his back against it. The music was terrible, some sort of Euro-Techno stuff that hurt his head. But the women and the beer were worth it... and it was one of the few places where his fake ID worked and where he hadn't already picked a fight. Remy ordered his drinks and watched the swaying hips of the waitress as she sauntered away. Glancing in the chrome edging on the bar, he saw two men pushing their way through the crowd towards him. He spun around quick enough to sway and avoid a punch launched at his head.

"Yeah that's him man! that's the guy who was chattin' to her!"

"You think you can make a play for my girl ya little runt?" snarled a thick set man, with his fists clenched.

Remy backed off, throwing his hands up in defence "Easy there now fella's! Mebbe we can all work dis little problem out non?"

The second man lurched forward to grab the Cajun, before reeling back in shock. "Hey! Look at his eyes! He's one o' those muties!" Without warning, the man surged forward again ,only to be met with Remys palm smashing into the bridge of his nose. The man sagged back into his friend, spilling beer everywhere.

"Hey mutie... You hit on my girl, you bust up my brother, an' now you just spilled my beer! Don't no-one disrespect me and get away with it! especially one o' you freaks..."

The man lurched forward, throwing a huge hay maker towards Julians head. His hands came up quickly and the blow crashed into the wall where Remys head had been. The Cajun ducked and slammed a stiff uppercut right under the guys chin, sending him reeling, before a jumping kick to the jaw sent him to the floor. With a half smile, the young mutant landed and spun on his heel, looking for the nearest exit.

The two men surged back to their feet, but kept their distance. "We'll get you ya freak...and all your weirdo friends too! your days are numbered!"

Remy smiled and withdrew a group of cards, The hand glowed bright pink in his grip.

"Oh, You think so?" he whispered, his expression turning icy.

He dropped a single card in front of the pair and watched their terror as it exploded in a small ball of fire at their feet. As he made his way to the exit , he noticed the girl he'd just tried his luck with. Flashing her his best grin, he blew her a quick kiss. "I not forget you, Angel! I'll nevah forget you!" he said with a wink, before disappearing from the club and out into the night.

Ok, with the season ending Friday, we'll be taking a nice long break to sync up with the new timeline proposal for the big games. So we'll be starting back up sometime in mid-January.

But even though we're taking a month off (because I want you people creaming yourselves with the anticipation of coming back), Byrd and I have decided that the gap between season will only be a week.
