Yeah, I imagine most movies about vikings will have a Thor vibe. I just watched The 13th Warrior a couple months ago, coincidentally.

It was good. Except... Antonio Banderas as an arab? Eh. But the rest of the movie was cool.

Well the Moors conquered Spain once upon a time, but the real life person Banderas was playing was arabic. Just Hollywood casting a brown person in place of another brown person.
The 13th Warrior is actually just a grounded retelling of Beowulf. The book amusingly is written like it's a translated piece of historical writing.

Yup, Crichton said he wanted to update Beowulf, make it more believable when he wrote Flesh Eaters.

I watch it at least once a month. It runs around 7 bucks at Wally World.
I watched a behind the scenes on 13th Warrior that was on Sci-Fi. I wish they'd make a collectors edition of 13th warrior. The Sci-fi show had cut scenes and the whole deal.
