I think 'the man of steel' should be the name of the next super-man film. It sounds familiar but can represent a movie that's new and different from all the previous. I didn't find superman returns too awful to be honest but after reading up on it I see that it left many disappointed.
The most obvious flaws to me are that they tried to recreate the christopher reeves movies, when they should have expanded and made it new.

most of the artwork I see of superman shows him to look a bit like the guy that played 'putty' on seinfeld, or 'the tick' on the tv series. In the movies he's a bit metro.

That sounds a little bit too much like what they did with "The Dark Knight"... Whats wrong with just doing what they did with Star Trek and simply alling it "Superman"... Simple and to the point.

There's already been a superman. Plus I think the man of steel is probably more known as an alias of superman than the dark knight is known as an alias of batman.
But I just like the idea because its a title given to him by the world/people around him, something more than just the name people call him.
He's an indestructible being in a fragile alien world, I think it creates more awe and mystery around him... people should kind of look at him like a god.

Life to him is like being in a world of card board, he has this molecular density that kind of seperates him from all matter on the earth. But I think its important that they set a limit to his abilities so as to create true challenges for him. The man of steel sounds powerful, yet still human in its imperfection, it places him at our level but slightly above us... if you get my drift.

It's not bad but i still say just "Superman" is better. The Donner movie was called "Superman:The Motion Picture"... Thats why i used Star Trek as my example.

And look how well thats done..
