During the "Superman Embargo" from 1990's-2000's, Warner called comic-book writer Keith Giffen to write a Script putting Superman against Lobo, the space bounty-hunter. Warner wanted to make a Lobo franchise, but all the Scripts didn't delivered, so, they decided to introduce him in a Superman movie first.
In the Script, an alien drug cartel hires Lobo to kill Superman, so, they'd be able to come to Earth and drain an common Earth minerius who's highly requisited by their extraterrestrial customers.
AICN described it as one of the best super-hero movies never made. It's a simple Plot, it has great characters and with todays CGI, it'd be easy to make.
So, what do you think? Could Superman VS. Lobo work as Superman's next movie, either it is a Reboot, an Revamp or a sequel?

What Superdaniel said
But to elaborate it sounds stupid, odd, and just not a good idea. I dont even think Lobo should appear in a Superman film.
Give him his own movie. Superman films shouldnt be there to set other heroes up. Also, Superman has so many better villains to use rather than Lobo

Yea,
I have to agree. I mean Lobo is so far down the food chain in terms of Superman Villains, I can think of a dozen Villans I would prefer to use before having to resort to the main man.
Speaking of D List Vilains, I really hope Raimi does not opt for freakin Morbius in SM4. But I digress....

I think Lobo would be a great secondary physical villain for Superman actually. We all wanted Superman to hit someone in "Returns," Lobo would be great to challenge Superman. I would like to see Lobo integrated into the reboot, not have Superman be a secondary character to a Lobo movie. That's just nuts. Lobo could represent all the anti-heros that we've seen in comic book movies recently, being the "cool" hero vs. Superman's "boy scout" routine. Lobo doesn't have to be a flat out villain, he could be the opposite side of the same coin with Superman. Maybe have Lobo try to take Superman's crown as Earth's savior, being the more violent and proactive "hero." And then of course at the end everyone realizes why Superman's ways are better and that he could just END Lobo easily if he wanted to, but chooses not to. That would be a good secondary plot to the movie I think. Lobo can't stand alone as a villain.

well, there is talk of LoBo getting his own film. Personally I would rather see Superman take on Brainiac, metallo, parasite, Dakseid, or Doomsday before he fought LoBo.

I agree Lobo should get his own film. I put Lobo in the same class as Mr Myptptk in terms of villians. I'd prefer to see villians like Parasite, Livewire, Darkseid, Metallo and Brainac .

Just to clarify: Superman wouldn't be Lobo's secondary character. Lobo would be Superman's enemy.

He could work rather nicely as a secondary villain in the next Superman movie. Someone the proper bad guy hires to distract the big S...
