Well, if they're still tweaking it to this day, I'm not surprised. I just hope they're not fussing and fidgeting over details too much. Like I said before, that tends to lead to a less interesting finished product in art more often than not.

I was just thinking last night that they're keeping his damn helmet as hidden as Two-Face was... why? Even when I didn't know anything about Thor, I still knew what his helmet looked like.

Anyway... this movie is really starting to look good. Until recently I wasn't too impressed with Hemsworth, but that hammer shot really makes you think "The Mighty Thor" :up:

Originally I figured he might wear the helmet strictly during battle, like the Spartans, but in the SDCC art, he's fighting Loki with no helmet.

It makes sense now though, if they keep changing the helmet's design for some stupid reason. They wouldn't want to show an outdated one.

They're grooming him to make him look good to the GA...and doing it very damn well, mind you. IDrawDeadPeople proves that quite well. If someone who doesn't really care for Thor thinks it's cool, then this movie will be as epic as Iron Man.

This film is looking great, and in a way that even the GA will like it. An epic, legendary battle, with myth and story behind it, almost always makes for a great film, not counting Clash of the Titans.

I dunno. Thor's helmet seems a little off compared to the aesthetic of the suit. They went their way to make the Asgardians look like as alien as possible without loosing the shape of Kirby's drawings, but the helmet seems too litteral. Not that it normally would be a bad thing, but given the artistic choices that they've made it seems a bit...well...off, as I said. Then again it's just a picture of the helmet on display behind glass so we'll have to see actual footage of Chris Hemsworth with the helmet to get a real sense of it. But in the meantime, I don't really like it. Not that it's a biggie or anything but it feels weird to me.

i like it a lot. if the filmmakers are going for an alien look for the Asgardians then this works very well IMO. i think it was John Howe (renowned Tolkien artist, conceptual designer for LOTR films and a personal friend of mine) who said that design never stands still, so it makes sense for Thor's helmet to have a classic feel to it and a modern design at the same time you know?

I can see why they'd want to use the helmets sparingly. It's the grandiosity of them...there just so dramatic in and of themselves, that they can actually diminish the actors.
