I know what you mean. With some tweaking, the whole Parallax thing can be a very touching & tragic, but I wonder if the DCAU didn't dare touch it because of the controversy that surrounded it.

Well a while back I was arguing with a guy about whether or not Jim Caviezel would be right for Hal Jordan in one of the old JLA casting threads. I was of the opinion, and still am of the opinion, that Jim is not suited to Hal, but I was among those who would have liked to see him play Superman and still would like to see him as Superman. One of my other friends said he thinks Jim looks too much like Gilligan from GILLIGAN'S ISLAND to be taken seriously as Hal or any other superhero (personally I don't see the resemblance to Gilligan), but after hearing the Timberlake rumor, well, I was inspired.
