Do you think that the Avengers will do better than Wolverine has done?

Depends on how well the individual movies do like Captain America and Thor. We know Iron Man is on track.

Avengers box office is going to be epic big. As long as Marvel takes better care and defends against the movie getting leaked a month early, it'll be a monster hit guaranteed. Even if only for the fact that general fans will see it as a sort of Iron Man 3.

Avengers will serve as sequels to Iron Man, Captain American, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor. It's bound to draw from every audience pool.

Easily, hell it could even beat 'The Dark Knight' or 'Titanic'.

Uhuh. Would be funny to see them have Iron Man as leader if the Cap movie doesn't go very well.

Ummm...they all draw from the same audience pool.

Not quite. Captain America will draw in World War II buffs, Thor will bring in international viewers, and Iron Man 2 will only broaden the popularity of Iron Man. They all may have an audience group in common, namely comic book fans, but that doesn't extend to them having the same audience pool.

Yea exactly. Thor will pull in the fantasy people. Cap the war movie fans for instance.
I think if the individual movies are relatively successful this movie will be ****ing MASSIVE! No hyperbole.
I hope it does. I think it's gonna be better than Wolverine (hell, how could it be worse) and, again, I hope it kills in the BO

I really don't see how this movie could fail, financially anyway.
They might find it hard to juggle all the characters about, but then they would of all been sufficiently developed in their own movies I suppose.
It reads SUPER FUN all over the place :hehe:

Without a doubt in my mind, Avengers will surpass the disappointment known as Wolverine. Why? Because it's a Marvel Studios production, and Fox won't have a steak in it.

What a....dumb question...

Yes, it will do much better than Wolverine. It'll be the first time we see Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor altogether on the big screen. That right there will generate a big audience.
Are they still going to bring in Ant-Man or just keep it basic by using more of the well known heroes?

I don't know if it'll "do" better but I'm pretty positive that it'll "be" better.

I mean, Cap and Iron Man could arm wrestle for 2 hours while Thor and Hulk play Halo and it'll be better than Wolverine :o

we all know ironman2's gonna do phenomenally well, if thor and cap follow suit, the hype for the avengers will be off the hook

yeah fox ruins everything, and if they do have something great, they drop it (arrested development)

I Feel the same way, even if this is poorly put together (which i dont think it will be), it's gonna have the Star Wars effect, it's gonna make millions no matter what, i have great faith that this is going to be just as perfectly put together as Iron Man was, this has the potential to not only break ALL Marvel movie records, as well as comic book movies period, but i bet this stands a good chance to break major movie records, like you said, tdk or titanic

i mean.. Iron Man made SOO much money and gained a non-comicbook fan base, im almost positive that Captain america and thor will do the same. Hulk did good but i think because its crappy predecessor it was a setback. but i mean this is the AVENGERS!! Marvel's best heroes teaming together as one, and as long as they keep the heroes cast the same (ie. iM=downey jr, hulk= nortan, thor= Hemsworth, etc..) they cant go wrong

It should. If Favreau does indeed direct this pic and everything comes together, it should be fun. Wolverine was an awful disappointment.

I know it's way too early to be predicting box office for a film 3 years away but if I had to throw some numbers out there... I'd go...
IM2: 380 Domestic 600 plus WW
Thor: 120 domestic 300 WW
Captain America: 200 domestic 380 WW
Avengers: 480 domestic, 1 billion WW.

Assuming nothing unforseen happens in the next few years on a global scale, like a plague wiping out half the world's population, or that it suddenly becomes trendy to stay away from theaters on Friday and Saturday in favor of staying home alone and reading...you can pretty much count on it.
