A "new" trailer has hit the internet. It's mostly stuff we've already seen, but there are a few new bits scattered in there.

Not really a whole lot of new material, but hey, I'll take what I can get. Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer for the second full-length trailer.

I like that they're winded even though they're in those suits. Nice touch.

Haha. That bit at the end was pretty funny. I actually laughed.

Me too. As much as some people like to whine about Stephen Sommers' sense of humor, it usually works pretty well for me. :D

I'd be highly suprised if this movie makes more than 60 mil.....world wide.

I think you're aiming a little too high there.

Wha..? Due to the intense competition maybe?

they're re-using the same scenes only flipping it horizontally. the only new scene was the joke at the end. for a "second" trailer, this isn't much convincing. Maybe the rumors of it being awful are indeed true after all.

Yeah, even if you're a supporter of this movie, you have to admit that it's a bit odd that they've shown so little. I understand keeping certain things under wraps, but there are ways of doing that without just recycling the same five scenes in every promo.

This isn't meant to be a "new" trailer, merely an extended one.

But isn't it time for a "new" trailer? I mean, the first one and the Super Bowl spot really didn't show very much.

Yeah, we are about due for a new one. Hopefully we get one with Transformers 2, since that seems like the most logical film to pair it with.

I'm all for a "new" trailer, but I really doubt Sommers wants to give away any other moneyshots, so to speak. Unless they decide to go along with the theme of the posters, and show a nice shot of Baroness' tush. :p

LOL yeah.
When all else fails... here's an ass that won't quit.

They could give us some cues as to the film's plot and caracters, other than "these are the good guys" and "these are the bad guys" like the Superbowl spot and first trailer did, which is how many movies work. Trailer 1 is all "ooh, ahh! what's this?" and trailer 2 is more like "ah, so that's what it's about." I'm hoping that they're going to show off a bit more of what the movie is bringing to the table.

I'm watching this movie only because of Baroness, when I was a kid I remember watching GIJOE after school and always being in love with her. :o :D
This movie will stink on ice, but shes hot!

What else is there?
They show off the tower thing and that doesn't even look very good.

What makes a falling landmark look good, exactly?

Not looking like **** for starters?
It looked better in Team America. Which is why this all so ironic.
This is basically Team America except the joke is on us this time.

That's...incredibly vague, at best.
The tower itself is very nicely done. It's believable the way it comes down. I just don't like the "eating away" effect.

Yeah, that's pretty silly to me. I mean, let's face it... if someone shot a missile at the right spot on the Eiffel Tower, it would topple over. It’s just physics. Shooting some sort of acid missile at it that makes the base disintegrate just seems unnecessary.
Maybe it is unnecessary, I haven't seen the movie. I'm saying the CGI is well done.

It's not acid. It may be nanobots which eat metal. Hence the eating away effect...?
The Guard

I suspect the green dust is supposed to be some sort of "rapid corrosion/disintigration" effect. It wouldn't show up as well if it was silver or brown, and would look like dust or something besides. Looking like nothing, just having the metal disappear, would be boring visually, so it's green instead.
The nanobots are intended to consume Paris itself in that scene, in order to show the world what McCullen is capable of. They start with the Eiffel Tower. It isn't just overtkill, it's symbolic, and a cruel, cruel way to destroy a city and its people, albeit a somewhat silly one.

The nanites are basically the McGuffen of the story, so it makes sense to use them in Paris instead of just firing a missile.
