Actually Sam gave it to Dean for Christmas when they were young. Sam was gonna give it to their dad. But he said he was never around and this was when Sam found out about the monsters and what their dad does.

no problemo, but i was wrong about it being from his father. According to wikipedia:

"He always wears a metal amulet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amulet), given to him as a gift by his brother, on a long black cloth band necklace. In "A Very Supernatural Christmas," the necklace is revealed to have been a gift from Sam on Christmas Day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Winchester#cite_note-1), 1991. The amulet was originally meant for John, and obtained from Bobby Singer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Singer), but after their father failed to come home for Christmas (as always), Sam gave it to Dean instead, saying "Dad lied to me; I want you to have it," and because Dean had tried to give him a good Christmas."

It already did like 2 seasons ago. 3 if you want to get technical.

I wonder how they're going to deal with this split. Goddamn cliffhangers. The War reveal did make my jaw drop though. Wow. Great ep. Plenty of action.

I wonder if they'll take the Conquest interpretation or the Pestilence one?

With that demon disease we know's coming up later in the season, I've got to lean towards Pestilence.

And since Death is the last Horseman on the scene (at least in most interpretations) I'd imagine he'll arrive right around the time they kill off a relatively important character.

Well apocalypse refers to something that was once hidden, but is now revealed, which is why in some cases the final book of the bible is called either the Apocalypse or Revelation of John. It speaks of the end times, which are revealed to John through a vision from God.

Armageddon, which is something written as Har-Magedon, and is also known as "Mount of Megiddo", which in biblical terms refers to the site of the final battle between God/Jesus and Satan.

Basically, Apocalypse refres to the times (end of times), while Armageddon refers the actual end.

Well a lot of folks think that it's all a bunch of crap and that there is no Apocalypse, no Armageddon, and no God or Satan.

Others think we're living in the end-times right now.

All depends on where you rest your faith. We won't really know who's right and who's wrong until something does (or doesn't) go down.

Loved the introduction of War, wow, second episode and we're already seeing the first horsemen. Show's really not pulling punches this year.

Well, from a storytelling perspective, it almost had to be done.

We've heard all about this big bad Apocalypse and all the evil things it'd bring. And we saw Lucifer.

But we hadn't seen anything really break bad yet. And neither had Sam or Dean.

So they had to have something early in the season to affirm that, for all intents and purposes, this sh** was real.

Hence, a Horseman of the Apocalypse shows up. A minor Demon, or evil a relatively powerful Demon wouldn't have sufficed for the "Prove it's going to get really ugly" role, because the boys have faced threats like that before.

War had to happen.

Below you'll find both a teaser trailer and clip from this week's upcoming 3rd episode (http://www.shocktilyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=11916#) of Supernatural Season 5, the CW hit series starring Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki. The episode "Free to Be You and Me" airs this Thursday September 24th 9PM Eastern (8PM Central).

Episode Synopsis: Not sure he trusts himself, Sam decides to give up hunting and goes off on his own. But that night, a late-night visitor tells Sam that he won't let him off the hook that easily. Dean, intent on stopping the Apocalypse, continues hunting on his own and teams up with Castiel to find the Archangel Raphael since Castiel believes Raphael knows the location of God's vessel on Earth.

I'd be keen to see Supernatural's version of "God" as something other than an older man.

An older woman would be cool. Not hugely different, but at least a little unique. And I'd like to see Dean and Sam interacting with an older, authoratative female character. Or they could make her an incredibly maternal and "grand-motherly" type. A child could also be cool (although they already mined that "drama" with Lilith and I wouldn't expect them to repeat it). Or could "God" possess an animal?

Cheers.

But it's not like has to stick to the Bible. Although, he did when Dean figured out who War was. Besides, War was just the first they encountered. Not necessarily the first to come. All four could be wrecking havoc.

Looks wrong but would make sense. Not sure how far into the future Dean has jumped. But if it's 5 to 10 years. I can see Cas having used up all his juice by then (mainly against powerful demons and angels) and now having to resort to bullets. Or maybe he still has some juice left but he saves it for the biggies and uses AKs on the infected humans.

First Photos from Supernatural Eps. 4 "The End"

"The End" is near. We've received a handful of photos from the forthcoming Supernatural season 5 episode titled just that: "The End." The Steve Boyum-directed and Ben Edlund-penned chapter, starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, airs at 9pm on The CW Thursday, October 1. Here's the plot crunch!

Sam tells Dean he wants to rejoin him in the battle of the Apocalypse. Dean tells Sam that they are better off apart in fighting evil on their own terms. Later, Dean awakens five years in the future in an abandoned city. There he is attacked by humans who have been infected with a demonic virus that turns humans into mindless, flesh-eating zombies. Zachariah appears to Dean and explains that this is the world that exists as a result of Dean refusing to help the angels fighting Lucifer. Dean meets up with a future Dean, who tells him that the virus is the Devil's endgame for destroying mankind.http://www.shocktilyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=11950

There are some pics there we've seen already and some other new ones.

For some reason the way this show ends makes me think very much of how Angel ended; with a cliff hanger. Sacrifice has always been a big thing in this show and Lucifer may find a way to convince Sam with him being betrayed by his family(god). I don't know about Dean but he may be duped by Michael into thinking he can save his brother.(am I fanficing?)

Like I said, the future ep will be very helpful in figuring out how this will turn out.

I feel like it'd be more of something like Sam eventually caving simply because he (and Dean) find out someway or somehow that the only way to end it... is to have a Michael/Satan smackdown via vessel.

I'm sure they'd do it up real emotional like.

Same here. But being a big brother myself, I can relate to how he must feel every time he's with Sam. The sense of responsibility is too great when it comes to protecting your family and it isn't any easier when you're out doing this kind of job: hunting demons and vampires.

I think it should be well established by now that as good as an actor Mark is he has never been on a show for longer than 5 episodes.

oh btw I just watched an episode of Nip/tuk and I can never look at Cas the same way again :(.

From what I can tell , it seems like the actor uses his normal voice in the next episode ''the end'' with that orgy scene.

that's right! he was on Nip/Tuck. Which episode was it again? What patient did he play?

I've seen the actor guest on some other shows before. The one episode of Supernatural where they show the vessel of Cas (from last season)...that's his real voice. I don't know how the actor makes his voice so deep. He must drink a lot of tea to soften it up.

He played the yogo instructor who wanted to have his Penix smaller. And I know he also played Alexis in the first season of 24.

I've been dropping PMs to the occasional person who missed an episode, but I'm just going to drop a link here because, among other things, I'm sure I don't have time to get to everyone:

It's not the greatest quality, but the episodes are up the morning after they air.

Like I said before, it is plausible that Lucifer brought Cas back and "saved" Dean and Sam as well. It might just be me, but there is just something about Cas that I just don't trust right now. Don't know what it is. Whatever happens, this is shaping up to be a great season.

Well Lucifer did kind of blow the place up. He's not going to kill his vessel upon emergence.if he killed Sam he could just bring him back, like he said.

I kinda wish they had made Future Dean a little different looking than present Dean. I couldnt really see any difference... then again, it may be because it was so quick. Maybe the actual episode will show slight differences.

Well 5 years wont change a adult's look too much thou. The only thing different will be the personality. Future Dean does not make jokes and he is cold.

Well, I wasnt expecting him to look older or anything, but in a post apocalyptic world, I thought his look might change a bit.

Following the reasoning for the vessels so far, if God was to have a vessel, wouldn't it make more sense for it to be John?

I really hope God isn't personified on this show. I think it cheapens the aspect of God if you try to give him a personality, or take human form. For angels and demons I can see that, but I think God would just be way too beyond that.

Also, when Raphael was talking to Dean and Cass about God not being there, did anyone else get a Preacher vibe? Could the producers take a similar approach to God?

Or it could be Jesus since he is a magician sometimes

But Lucifer directly said "That's why you were in that chapel," when he confronted Sam in the dream.

To me that implies Lucifer was planning on taking him right then and there. And if there were any real danger to Sam during the rising, Ruby would have gotten him out of there for her master.

Hence, I'm still leaning God. Plus, Raphael's excuse as to why Satan might revive Cas was really weak.

What if God saved the boys, since it sounds like Lucifer wanted to take Sam, but had to settle for Nick (remember, Yellow Eyes wanted Sam for a special reason), yet Lucifer brought Cas back for the reasons Raphael said.

And Teenage Mutant Ninja Angel is one of Dean's best ever lines.

Because Lucifer wouldn't want to resurrect an Angel that's sympathetic to the one being that can kill him (even if it's via vessel)?

Or because there are a lot of dead Angels that he could have resurrected given the chance that would have made more sense than Cas?

Yes, but what's the first thing Cas did when he was brought back? Killed two angels that would have fought Lucifer. And we don't know if Lucifer didn't bring back other angels or not.

But, regardless if Raph's reason is good or not, there's nothing (so far) to say he was wrong. God could have saved the boys, taking away Lucifer's vessel, while Lucifer brought back Cas hoping to be able to use him.

How could Lucifer even have known Cas was dead? The way the timeline seems to work out, he was resurrected around the same time the boys made it on the airplane... and he even knew they made it to said plane. Plus, Lucifer was busy working on getting to his vessel, which Cas made plain was Objective No. 1 before he got down to business.

And while Raphael seems to be content with said explanation, it was very plain that Zachariah was petrified at the thought of an Angel being resurrected... and the Angels haven't expressed any particular fear of Lucifer yet, outside of noting that he needs to be stomped out.

Raph could be wrong, and just making an assumption.

But Cas thinks God saved him, and Zach and the other angels could have too. Which would explain why they took off. Their 'dead' dad is back.

Pretty sound theory and that is exactly what I'm leaning towards. Lucifer himself stated he is an angel, and unless he possesses some sort of ultimate power that other angels don't, Zach and others have no reason to be that afraid of him.

I think this whole absence of god is part of the plan that would lead to the end of the world, you know how it is said that the whole world would be in chaos until the second coming which would be pretty close to the end.

But one thing that's questionable is that whether or not Lucifer can bring back dead angels since he too is and angel. I mean ok they (angels) are able to resurrect humans but can they really bring back to life another angel? Wouldn't that be where god comes in?

Orb

The impression I'm getting is that in the show's universe, Lucifer and Michael are far, far more powerful than any other Angel in existence. Depending on your lore of choice, Lucifer was the single greatest Angel of them all.

So I think we're supposed to assume he's got all kinds of powers that even other Archangels wouldn't have. With Michael maybe being the exception.

But I don't think any Angel on Heaven's side can resurrect another Angel... cause that'd make the whole war a pretty moot point. They'd just keep coming back.

Can an angel bring another angel back? The way the show goes they more or less say Lucifer is no different from any other angel, he's just evil is all.

And the strongest of all of them?
