Well, I think it's time since the new season has started casting shooting.
Thoughts?
I just got into this show earlier this year, and bought the first 3 seasons, waiting to get the forth. I love this show, it fill's the void that Angel's series finale left in my TV watching. But is this really going to be the final season, especially given that this show is one of the few hit's on CW?
Yes this is in fact the last season. Unless Eric (the creator) tricked us.

Actually, what I'm hearing (er, reading) is that Kripke intends it to be the last season, but the CW might have other plans. And if CW wants more, Kripke probably won't be back, but Padalecki and Ackles probably will because they have a six-year contract.
Here's one sourse, anyway:

I wouldn't count Kripke out yet. After all, this show is his baby. I recall him saying at one point that he'd be back as long as there was story worth telling.

I think Kripke and co. could make the apocalypse interesting enough to last two seasons. It is the apocalypse, after all. Maybe this season Lucifer is sneaky and low-key, but then next season is all out insane, with the plagues and horsemen, all of that. (Or was that supposed to come before Lucifer rises? Heh, guess I don't know my end-of-the-worlds very well.)
Of course, even though I'd be willing to see it through, I know fans can get impatient or bored. "Isn't the apocalypse over yet??"
Actually, now I'm wondering. Do you think the writers would ever let the events in Supernatural get crazy enough that the whole world has to know something's up, like "end of the world big"? Or would they keep it so only the Winchesters and a few others know what's going on, all the way to the end?

I wonder if they are gonna throw more money at the FX budget this season? Thats one of my down points about this show, they have this X-files-ish lack of good creature FX. The Werewolves are pathetic, and the hellhounds are invisible.

Yes. Check the 3rd post in this thread from Prison Mike with all the spoilers for this upcoming season.
Maybe, maybe not. Kripke said he had a storyline for 5 seasons. The bros are signed on for 6 seasons. So there's a chance we might see the series continue on without Kripke.
That he ain't there. In the meantime, Zacharia & the other high levels are callings shots in his absence.

Do you guys think Sam and Dean should kill one Horsemen per episode or kill all four in the same episode?

Scratch that. Killing one for the entire season would work for me. And not just a one hitter in one episode. Stretch it over 4 episodes at least before killing him/her/it. No weak **** like the 7 deadly sins.
Could work. So there will be three sides in the war, Sam,Dean Cas and other hunters and angels, Zach and the Rebell Angels and finally Lucifer and his demons.

I think the 4 horsemen should be taken out this season, but i agree with the 4 episodes or more per horsemen, and I think it would make an interesting dynamic if the horsemen were hunting the Winchesters. The hunters becoming the hunted.

I love the idea of the Horsemen being killed throughtout the whole season too. Also the horsemen are creatures their not men or women. But they use to be men.
So let me get this straight their is a WAR between divided people. Sam,Dean Cas and other hunters and angels, Zach and the Rebell Angels and finally Lucifer and his demons. Awesome!
No what do Zack and the rebel angels purpose is? Taking over the world for themslves? Or destroying it? I know what everyone esle motive is.
Also how is the rebell angels and Zack not with Satan and his demons since rebll angels became demons?

I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure Zach isn't a rebel angel. He represents "the angels" who apparently god has just left and isn't giving orders to anymore.
So the War is between Angels (sans god) VS Demons with the Winchesters, Bobby and Caz caught between both sides, (with both sides gunning for them).
I'm also under the impression that none of the other hunters know what's going down. And that only Bobby, and the Winchesters were on the inside.
Zachariah laid out his plans pretty clearly in the finale. He basically thinks that they're going to win the war, and they don't care how many humans die in the process. So he caused the war.

He just showed up this season in 2 episodes. All we know for sure is that he's Castiel's supervisor.
He thinks Winchesters and them gonna win the war? And why he think that and even caused the war?
Some point during this season, I think it was when Alastair was getting tortured. They revealed that Dean spilling blood in hell was the first seal broken. So that started the whole thing. Therefore he's the only one to stop it. So yeah, they ain't winning **** without Dean.
Can't blame Zach for thinking automatic victory for the good guys. I've never read/seen any biblical literature saying that the devil beats God & company.
P.S. how the angels after them if they trying to help fight demons?
Because the Winchesters are trying to prevent the Apocalypse & save millions. The angels currently in charge want the Apocalypse so they can finally get this big ass holy war over with it and create paradise on Earth even though millions would die in the process.
I'm also under the impression that none of the other hunters know what's going down. And that only Bobby, and the Winchesters were on the inside.
When the hell's gate was open in season 2, the news traveled fast and all the hunters knew about since the the two hunters in the Season 3 premier knew. So I think Hunters will find out.

I'm curious to see what they have in mind for the Archangels... and what they conjure up Demon-wise to face them.
I mean, I think it's safe to say that very, very few of the Demons we've seen so far have even displayed the power levels to handle regular Angels... And we saw that Lillith skipped town ASAP when an Archangel was on the way.
They've got to have a baddie in mind that can handle an Archangel. I'm sure the Horseman or Lucifer himself, but, based on how many Archangels they decide there are (different Faiths and thought lines seem to have different ideas as to that) I'm very interested in seeing what the Devil sends to combat them.

I'd love that. I've literally been waiting for them since, like, the second season. I hope Kripke and co. include them this season.
The Four Horsemen are confirmed for this season.
:cwink:
Supernatural creator Eric Kripke pulls out all the stops as the sexy horror show returns for its fifth season. In last season's shocking finale, an angry and demon-blood addicted Sam (Jared Padalecki)—to his horror—was responsible for freeing Lucifer from his hellish imprisonment. In this exclusive interview, Kripke tells TV Guide Magazine what Lucifer's return means and what roles Sam and big bro Dean (Jensen Ackles) will play in saving the world.
That was a pretty terrifying finale. You have an interesting "pox on both their houses" take on the Apocalypse. Do you hear from angry religious types?
[Laughs] We actually haven't. Quite frankly, sometimes we're surprised that some religious people don't take more issue with our depiction of angels. But—we've always kept in our back pocket that despite these particular angels being the bureaucracy of Heaven, there are potentially higher and more benevolent forces in the universe. But we have a humanity-centered show. Our attitude is always, humans with all their imperfections are the heroic ones and everyone else is just kind of messing with them.
Let's talk about Season 5. Should I assume that the showdown between the angels and Lucifer and his demon minions—with Sam and Dean caught in the middle—is your through line this season?
Part of that is ongoing mythology, so I don't want to give too much of that away, but yeah, it's basically that the angels and Lucifer and the demons are just beginning the long foretold Apocalypse from the Book of Revelations. It's the war that everyone's been waiting for for thousands of years. Humanity is unfortunately caught in the middle. Our heroes object to that. Their response is "You want to fight a war? Pick another planet. This one's ours and get the hell off it."
What's the time frame?
We pick up from the finale, where we left off with the boys in the chapel with the portal to Lucifer's cage opening and Lucifer rising. We show the next few subsequent seconds after that and then continue the story from there.
So they escape and…
No, they both die and we continue the series with James Van Der Beek.
I hear the roar of a million fans shrieking. OK, what are the manifestations of Lucifer's return?
We're really trying to make good our promise—with Lucifer comes the Apocalypse. Supernatural's version of the Apocalypse. The public isn't necessarily aware of it. They're not running screaming through the streets. That would be hard to maintain through a season. Our version of the Apocalypse includes things like hurricanes unexpectedly slamming into the U.S. coasts and swine flu and North Korea suddenly arming up with nuclear weapons. [Laughs] We're really trying to create the idea that we always have, that this could be happening right outside your door and you don't know it. At least in the first few days of the Apocalypse.
The first episode is called "Sympathy for the Devil." Is that a hint?
One of our goals is to depict Lucifer [played by Mark Pellegrino, aka Jacob on Lost] in a way that's rarely seen on television. We want Lucifer to be the most sympathetic character this season. He's this wounded angel who feels very betrayed by God and his fellow angels. We're writing him with a vulnerability and almost a tenderness. This is totally like douche baggy, but we're looking at "Paradise Lost" a lot. That idea of the very human devil that has moments of doubt and moments of really human emotion. It's an opportunity to see a really interesting Lucifer.
Demons and angels take different meat skins—human bodies—to hide their true selves. How about Lucifer?
Lucifer is an angel and like any angel he needs to take a vessel. He'll need to be walking around as a human as well. A strikingly handsome one. Compared to Zachariah and the rest of the angels on the show, he's more gentle and soft spoken by a long shot. In his own weird way, he's the kindest of all the angels.
What are Sam and Dean's roles here? Do the angels still expect Dean to do their bidding?
Dean still has this chosen status from the angels. He's someone they expect will defeat Lucifer. Much more of what that means will be revealed in the first episode. But he doesn't particularly like or trust the angels and isn't particularly inclined to follow the plan they have for him.
The last time we saw Sam, he was clearly heart wrenchingly guilty for having inadvertently raised Lucifer. How will he overcome that?
Sam is in a difficult place. He's feeling such horrifying regret. How do you get out from under the weight of the guy who broke the world and you broke it through pride, selfishness and you were seduced and you were fooled and all the horrible things that have happened as a result. He's got a lot to atone for and he's really on a journey of redemption. We've been talking about his story in the metaphors of a brand new ex-addict. He's giving up demon blood; he's giving up all these dark sides and with them comes terrible temptations. And meanwhile your family's angry with you and they don't trust you. Sam's emotional arc this season is trying to go clean again and he's got lots of trust to rebuild with Dean.
[B]Your fans get famously upset when Sam and Dean are mean to each other. Why do you keep torturing them?
[Laughs] We owe it to the fans to depict an honest relationship and we wouldn't be honest, having gone through the events at the end of Season 4, if they just said, "It's all forgotten, let's move on." There's a lot of drama to play. It's our intention to bring them back together. It always is. I've always said it's a show about the strength of family. But they need to recreate their relationship and come back together in a way in which they're older, sadder, wiser but ultimately stronger.
Sam's dead fiancé Jessica [played by Adrianne Palecki] shows up.
Yeah, in Episode 3.
What can you tell me about that?
I'll keep much of that under wraps. She does return as Jessica.
So we hear demon Meg [now played by Rachel Miner] is back in the premiere. Why does she return? What are her intentions?
They're not good. I've always been wondering what she's doing out there actually. I've been continually asking the writers, "Where's Meg? What's she doing? She's a demon. She has a really powerful grudge against the boys. They have history together. She would be a really formidable adversary. Where is she?" Finally, I got impatient and ended up writing her into my own script. It's Mardi Gras for Meg and demons like her. Their demonic Lord and Savior has returned and so it's party time for demons. As far as they're concerned, Dean is the only threat to that and so we really ratchet up the tension yet again this season. Pretty much every demon in Hell and on Earth is out gunning for Dean Winchester, because he is pretty much the only one who can destroy basically their Lord and Father.
Is Bobby their only ally or will others come in to help during the season?
When we first come back in the season opener, Castiel is dead, destroyed by the Archangel. So there's some moments when we wonder if they'll have the help of their old angel pal Cas. There's always allies, sometimes in unlikely places. But it's always the idea of this small scared sweaty group up against overwhelming forces, and that's kind of where the heart of Supernatural lies. In that idea of it as a Western, and you got the entire army outside and you're inside and you've got to shoot your way out.
Supernatural's fifth season begins Thursday, Sept. 10, 9/8c, The CW.
Oh, and for those who don't know, there's this one too:

Will anyone be live blogging it ?
Comic con news:
First off let’s just begin with the news everyone has been looking, hoping, searching and asking for. Creator Eric Kripke says that while originally the plan for the show was to do five season only – and this being the fifth season upcoming, fans are getting nervous – but because the show is doing well and actually gaining viewers, he says they may indeed do more seasons of the show.
And the good news is the Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are contracted to do one more year of the show after season five, Kripke says.
“Because I have low self esteem, I never thought we’d make it to 100 episodes,” Kripke says. “I had a five-year plan and I thought we’d do a comic to wrap it up [laughing]. But the ratings are getting better and better but I still have to do a five year plan and want to finish this chapter. We are not going to delay it. [Sam and Dean] are going to be facing the devil this year but there is not reason why a new chapter can’t begin.”
And that my friends is what we’ve all been hoping for. Hope, that the show will continue.
Kripke goes on to say that he plans on tying up some of the loose ends from previous season – mainly the Croatian virus and Meg. Both will be taken care of in season five. In fact, Kripke says there will be an episode in season five where Dean jumps five years into the future and we will see an apocalyptical world ravaged by the war with Lucifer and the Croatian virus will play into it.
“It’s our version of 28 DAYS LATER,” Kripke says.
What else will be seeing in SUPERNATURAL season five? Well for starters the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, more mythological creatures from the bible and elsewhere and … celebrity ghosts? Yes, that’s right celebrity ghosts including a homicidal Abraham Lincoln ghost.
Kripke jokes “The Four Horsemen are not going to be riding horses but color coordinated muscle cars. Why ride a horse when you can be in a Mustang?”
Ah but that’s not all! Also returning in season five will be Ellen and Jo Harvelle, Jessica Moore (played again by Adrianne Palicki) and Rufus.
And we may actually get to see God as a character at some point, according to producer Sera Gamble.
“We are approaching it cautiously,” Gamble says. “There is a lot of doubt because a lot of characters are angry at God for not stepping in and doing something about what’s going on.”
Also getting some more camera time will be Bobby Singer, played by Jim Beaver. Beaver says that Singer will play a huge role in the first three episodes and that the first three episodes will set up the rest of the season.
“I will be more involved this year than in the past,” Beaver says. “When I read the first script [for season five], my jaw dropped as to what is happening with bobby, not what I expected.”
And let’s not forget about Castiel. Misha Collins says that he will be on the run with Sam Dean as they will all be hunted by angels and demons alike. Castiel will also have less powers than he did in season four after being “fired” as an angel.
Lots to look forward to and we can’t wait

I like the idea of Dean jumping into the future.
Kripke jokes “The Four Horsemen are not going to be riding horses but color coordinated muscle cars. Why ride a horse when you can be in a Mustang?”
Why not have them ride in on choppers.
Some description of the footage and gag reel:
The clip was of Dean and Sam turning up at Chuck's place (Chuck hits Sam in the head with a plunger thinking that he's an enemy and Chuck says "You're okay!" and Sam gets all frowny and indignant and points out "Well, my head hurts!") and Chuck tells them that Cas is "dead", Dean doesn't believe him at first and asks if Chuck's sure he didn't just "disappear into the light" but Chuck is certain that he got vaporised like a "water balloon full of chunky soup" I believe might have been the phrase he used (there's one of Castiel's molars stuck in Chuck's hair and he's totally freaked out by it) - Dean totally tears up and is all, "damnit Cas, you stupid *******" getting himself killed for them, he was TOTES heartbroken!
And then Zachariah and two angelic heavies in suits turn up and try to get Dean to do the whole angelic destiny thing, reasoning that they're on the same side again because Dean wants to kill the devil and the angels want him to kill the devil so they're all good again, Dean basically tells him at least 3 different ways in which he can [...], including "cram it with walnuts", as well as calling him an asshat, a douche and ugly, haha. When he answered back, Zach said "watch your tone with me, boy," but clearly the authoritative kink Dean has only extends to Cas. Then Zach notices that Dean's hand is bleeding and Dean pulls the sliding door across to reveal an angelic symbol similar to the one Cas used in the finale to poof Zach away and was all "I learned that from my buddy Cas, you son of a *****!" Sooo otp.
The clip was introduced by the Ghostfacers being all hilarious and dramatic with wind machines because they thought they were introducing their own show, not SPN, so they're like DAMN YOU, KRIPKE! And then the ghost of Corbett shows up while AJ is bent over and so it looks like they're [...]m, very cute scene, I hope it'll be on the DVD.
And yes, the gag reel has Jensen singing a bit of Oh Canada with a postcard next to them, LOTS of dorky Jared dancing and more blue steel, a TON of Jared farting (you can literally hear him farting a couple of times) and Jensen practically dying of being gassed out, a cute clip of Jensen turning up on the little mini motorcycle in a suit in the B&W monster movie ep, Jensen hitting himself in the face a couple of times, getting punched by the Dracula dude in MM and the guy being all apologetic and holding Jensen's face like they were gonna kiss, plus an extended clip of the cat scream from Yellow Fever where Jensen keeps screaming, starts jumping up and down in a circle while screaming and then leaps into Jared's arms and clings on to him, TOTAL BEST PART. There's other stuff too but it's better to see it than to have it described, SO AMAZIIIING.

I'm all excited for S5 and all, but there are some problems that this show keeps repeating over and over: one being the modernization of classic figures to extreme levels, and the way they talk in modern slang.
From the panel, Eric mentioned turning Lucifer into a sympathetic character; ok, but also he mentioned turning Angels into d**ks...now hold it. What's with that approach. Angels are suppose to be holy messengers/warriors, not some smart a** d**ks like they portray in the show. Also, the neat little trick to expel the angels seems a bit too easy: aren't they suppose to be powerful beings and not just good version of demons? Dean and Sam sometimes go way over their heads when dealing with Angels imo.
I heard the 4 horsemen would be riding in cars instead of on horses, why call 'em horsemen in the first place in that case? It's like they are butchering yet another classic figure(s). They can work well with how they are told off in the books, would give the show a little more darker edge if done right. Creators would use classic aspects of myth or legends to rid of the problem, but they would not present them in such manner.
I just don't like it when other worldly beings start talking trash like humans do, they are not humans to begin with. Like Zach, he must be aeons old and yet he talks like a city folk: I thought a being such as him would be more sophisticated and subtle in speech, but no, he's like anyone else on the planet.
Doesn't anyone else feel a bit downed by these extreme changes? The humanization of every demons and angels?

But that's the problem, than there's no difference between the classes if he handles it that way. They are just angels for titles-sake, not inherently.

I don't.
And I severely doubt you'd find a Supernatural fan besides yourself that does. What we've gotten in the Angels and Demons is a refreshing bit of creativity. Kripke and co. have gone a long way in adapting mythology into something that fits the them of the show -- and have done it justly. It'd be stupid to adapt their show to the Bible or someone else's version of Angels and Demons... then it wouldn't really be their show.
The Four Horsemen in cars is a beautiful example. They can't just go around the US chasing Sam and Dean on horses! People would notice that, and that'd go against the show's own mythos. Plus... it's a road show! The car is just as much a character as Sam and Dean! And I'd bet that the cars driven by the Horsemen have just as much life as their masters.
This show has been shockingly and refreshingly original... do you just want it to be a re-hash of every Angel/Demon story ever told?

Well I don't exactly hate the their take on these things, but I'd have liked to see some classic representation to some of the things they used.
Anyways, about the first bit, even though it's creativity on their part, it's also an easier route to handle.
You got it in the last bit, it is a road show, so I guess if we see it that way: it works out. I didn't think to look at it from that angle.
Anyways, I was really hoping this would be the last season that would wrap everything up nicely, but I heard the guys signed on for S6. I don't like it when shows drag on too long, they start to get dull like Smallville. Not that I'm against more Supernatural ;P, but they better keep it interesting.

I'm worried about the show extending too... They planned for 5. They intended for 5... The fifth season has the FREAKING DEVIL as the villain!
A sixth season just wouldn't feel right... I mean, I have faith that they'd come up with something solid, but I'd have an immediate prejudice against it just because this season has the FREAKING DEVIL as the villain. After that, and after Dean becomes Messiah, who cares?

I wouldn't mind a sixth season. I used to watch Stargate, and after they defeated the show's big bads, the Goa'ulds freed the galaxy and whatnot it felt stupid that they've decided to continue in the last minute. But they started to delve into Arthurian legends, and created an enemy three times as compelling as the Goa'ulds ever were (Fanatics worshiping existing evil gods with incredible technology and on a crusade to convert people.)
If the show starts in a very new direction - with the boys training other hunters, defend the weakened apocalypse ridden humanity from opportunistic evils or delve into some weirder, material urban legends/conspiracy theories/beliefs like "tin foil hats, CIA mind control, hollow earth, lizard people, Moonchild, occult Nazi workings etc" it could continue pretty well. But don't stretch out the show as it is now.

I don't know. Lucifer doesn't feel like the Ultimate Evil for me. The show has other gods from other mythologies running around. We have the Trickster, we had pagan gods, viking rituals are known to work, just as much as Native American curses.
Even if we have Lucifer and demons, the judeo-christian god and angels in the world, that doesn't mean their origin myth is real and they're the ultimate good and ultimate evil. They're a pantheon - powerful and influential gods, but just ones of the many existing deities of the SN universe.
Maybe both Hell and Heaven crumbles by the end and ancient, more alien forces try to take their places from other belief systems.
Or just have humans misusing the supernatural - after facing heaven and hell, the biggest danger and the last enemy is Man itself.
I dunno, I'm just thinking. SN is best when it changes things around. I love the fact that we can have a angels-demons episode, followed by silly black and white Universal monsters, followed by a magical lucky charm. Variety is what makes this show so awesome. (But this is my persone taste. My roommate only likes mythology episodes, I love the „fillers”)

The devil is preety much it when it comes to evil, people like Hades, Zeus or perhaps Odin, Thor or Loki just wont cut it not when you have had the devil. Its like having Darkseid in a Superman movie before Metallo, it would just be anti climatic.

It'd be very hard to push a new leading villain after the Devil, if only becuase the majority of the demographic it reaches believes the Devil to be evil incarnate. I mean, "the Devil" or some variation of it is looked upon as the top dog by many faiths...
Even if a "bigger" monster were created straight from some other lore, it'd be difficult for the general audiences to accept, and would likely be spurned. Especially considering how much leading up they've done to get to Lucifer -- using flashbacks and all that they've legitimately tied his rise into the mythos, and connected him directly to Sam. Everything after his assumed fall would be like an epilogue, not part of the natural Supernatural (no pun intended) story arc.

I get what you mean. I guess after the Devil they could go for something like "Elder Beings" or "The Old Ones", obvious references to Lovecraft's work, who are the embodiment of chaos and disorder from eons ago. I would love it if they bring in Lovecraft's mythos into this show, funny how they haven't done it already; it's classic. But then again, these guys usually stick to myths and legends that exist in real life than literary works of some author.
However, I don't think humanity itself would make for a great climax as it has been done before numerous times, and as I see it, this show tries to take a fresh approach for almost anything.

One of the things that worries me is that Dean's going to spend the entire 22 episode order running around being self-righteous with the Angels.
I mean, the character's motivation to do so is fine. However, it does get old watching Jensen Ackles acting.... well, all self-righteous like and throwing the same insults at Angels over, and over and over again. It stunts the character and just gets redundant and annoying.

Heh, I didn't really notice until you pointed it out, but yeah, I've been hating that already. Like you said, even when the character is right, it gets tiresome after a while and in a way, the character even starts to lose my support. As much as Dean kicks ass, now every time he starts in with the angry defiance, it becomes "Ugh, not this again" for me.
Hopefully they'll resolve it soon, whether they come to a truce, or the angels are replaced with ones that had little to do with starting the apocalype, or something. And I personally would like to see some non-d***ish angels who haven't been banished for being non-d***s.
Speaking of, now that my memory is fading and I don't have the episodes to rewatch, I'm a little confused about Zach and the other angels. Did the angels as a whole want to bring back Lucifer, or was it just a small faction? And just to be clear, Zach's goal was different from Uriel's, right? Uriel wanted to join Lucifer and Zach wants to fight him? And what is Zach? I know a lot of people say he was revealed to be an Archangel, but I somehow missed that. I just thought he was Castiel's superior.
I still do think Season 5 is going to be awesome.

Uriel was a traitor that was ready to ally himself with Lucifer.
The Angels acted as a consensus group. There were some eventual dissenters (like Cas), and I'm sure we'll find that there will be more of them, but the decision came from Angel high command -- it wasn't just Zach and co. running rogue. God is MIA, so the Angels made the decision to let Lucifer rise themselves.
Zach is a base level Angel, just farther up the ranks than Cas. We haven't actually seen an Archangel in human form yet... only as blasts of light protecting Chuck the prophet.

Here's the article (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b137862_paris_hilton_guest_star_on_cws.html). I actually think there's a small chance that it'll turn out awesome...There's just a bigger chance of it turning into a trainwreck. On any other show I'd roll my eyes and sneer - for many, many reasons - but I'm curious to see what Supernatural does with it.

I remember they were promoting Gossip Girl and 90210 like Crazy! And every once and a while you see a short Supernatural promo that was like 10 seconds.

Same thing with Smallville. those two shows have gotten hardly any promotion the last couple of years. Also, it's a bummer that season 3 was only 16 episodes. Smallville managed to get 20 episodes that season.

The CW is stupid as ****. You're getting good ratings from this show, why the **** do you not want to promote that, but you'll still promote the hell out of this other garbage that gets you crap ratings?!

Meaning a show that is mainly geared for guys is not what they want. WWE Smackdown was their highest rated show and got rid of that for the same reason.

Sometimes I think Supernatural as such a great show it is doesn't deserve to ne on here, but a more respected network. Ifi t was still WB it be good.
The woman who ran the UPN network into the ground is running the CW now.

well with last season, I saw no commercials or anything and came across a commercial for the season premiere at random and had to call the friends that I know do watch it and let them know...
and TAC has it right....behind closed doors, the CW execs crap all over Supernatural because it doesn't attract the "desired viewers" and they don't bother to promote it....its like death by neglect, but the show just gets better and better and it makes them mad:cmad:

But they just dont make a lick of sense to me... they're getting good ratings! Even if its not in their demographic, who cares?! I thought networks actually cared about ratings.
I think the network could thrive if they got rid of the head ***** of the network, and got someone in there that could actually do their job.

it's a lot of things...the head of the network is trying to craft it into a Jr. version of Lifetime, which has seriously loyal viewership....and also Supernaturals success makes the other shows look bad...its Hollywood, not a lot makes sense

Thursday night is going to suck for me. I have chemistry lab from 6-9 p.m. so I probably won't get home until 9:30. I'm going to miss half of Supernatural and I hate coming into an episode without seeing the entire thing. Once, I missed the first 10 minutes of Smallville and refused to watch the rest of it. I need to see episodes from beginning to end.

It's funny that the US commecial uses The Dave Matthews Band in that promo, since it's probably one of the last bands you'd hear on the show. The Australia commercial is great though, I watched the first episode with a little apprehension due to the promos, if I saw the Australian promo though, probably wouldn't have been apprehensive at all.
A lot of stores put show on DVD on sale for a week or two, then bring the price point back up. They put it on sale to get people in the store hoping they buy more stuff while they're there
it probably went up so next month it will be on sale, like most seasons due to promoting the new ones starting.

Hola, kids. It is I, Richard, here again with an update. I'm not sure if it was Emy's tireless efforts with her poll or just good karma, but whatever the reason, I am pleased to announce that...
...wait for it...
The Trickster returns!
That's all I've been allowed to say by the Supernatural powers that be. But I thought you all should know first since you've all taken the time to actually sign on to this page.
If you're half as excited as I am, well... then I'm twice as excited as you.
The real mystery isn't what the Trickster will be up to when he returns - it's how the hell did Emy catch wind of his return weeks before even I did? Talk about special powers.
That's all for now. I'll be back with more when there's more to share.
Ciao for now.

Charles Dance weighs in
13 August 2009 1:01 AM, PDT
Gosford Park star Charles Dance has blasted Paris Hilton after TV bosses decided to air the socialite's reality series instead of his new drama.
The veteran British actor's new programme Trinity was scheduled to broadcast in the U.K. earlier this year but it was delayed until September - and replaced by the heiress' show Paris Hilton's British Best Friend.
Dance is now calling for the end of reality shows after catching a glimpse of Hilton's "c**p" programme, in which the blonde sets tests for a group of wannabes in the search for a true pal.
He says, "We're putting too much energy into junk and reality television. This show was going to be shown in January or February. But they shelved it until September to put you know what in its place? Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, which is possibly the most execrable piece of television I've ever seen in my life. God knows what the ratings were. It's a piece of television for airheads, starring an airhead.
"It's just beyond me. Endless hours of reality television - surely by now there must be a consensus that it's c**p?"

Reality shows are loads cheaper to produce, and the general audience eats them up.
It's sad, but it's just how the market's built right now. Can't blame networks for going with the affordable, almost guaranteed money makers.
