Well the beauty of the Ultimate DC RPG is that you don't have to be a "Flash guy" to play Flash, or a "Green Lantern guy" to pick up Green Lantern. You fully flesh out their history and character in this game, with what little ties to mainstream comics that are needed to make the character recognizable. So don't be afraid to spread your wings beyond Batman and his world because in this RPG it isn't as important.

In a testicle shell, the Joker's traveling carnival has come to Gotham and set up shop on the banks of the O'Neil River. Joker's crew went out to spread the word among the citizens, and the Joker telepathically dominated the mayor and made him invite all of Gotham's elite to the show.

Also, he poisoned the city's water supply with a chemical that makes people more susceptible to his telepathy.
And he blew up the plant afterward because explosions are cool.

Who are we waiting for on this whole carnival thing?

Far as I know, just MB, Syn, and...that's it I believe.

To kill time before the show, feel free to enjoy some of the carnival games scattered about the grounds. They're just your typical run-of-the-mill carny games with a bit of a Joker twist to make them extra entertaining. :up:

Laugh, I know i prob sound like a loser but today I did all the research I could on NIght-Owl, and have came to a conclusion that the character is great batman clone and would be great to rp as.....

I would still rather be able to play as owlman.....main'ly just b/c it will be fun to have a evil role in rp, but yea I am going out of town will either be back late sunday or early monday so I will be looking forward to see Bruce's desicion....

Alright, Batmansince1939. While I'm hesitant to allow you to play Owlman from Earth-2/Earth-3/Whathaveyou, I will say that if you can come up with a way for him to be from this Earth (hence, it'd be Ultimate and perfectly legitimate), it'd be fine. However, I'd also like the offer the alternative of Prometheus, who's the more modern anti-Batman and a good character to bring in. Or you could combine aspects of both to form a new version of Owlman. Whatever you'd like to do.

Infact, if you wanted, I could help you come up with a backstory for a character like that.

.Powers and physical attributes: Wayne, Jr. possesses the power of super-intelligence and other extra-sensory abilities. Owlman has enhanced his natural abilities with various devices that increases his natural power to far greater levels than attainable by his own power level. (Pretty Much if you know Batman you know him)

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):
Thomas Wayne, Jr. is the elder son of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Upon the tradegy of his family's murder, he was inspired to fight crime as a costumed vigilante. But unlike Batman, Thomas Wayne, Jr. decided to conquer the villians directly, rather than fighting them. Using his father's wealth, Thomas Wayne, Jr. underwent years of training and enhancement in his plans of conquering Gotham City's crime underworld, unifying them with "Boss" James Gordan.

It would be years later that Wayne, Jr. discovered that his father survived the attack that killed his mother and younger brother Bruce. Thomas Wayne, Sr. is dedicated to killing Thomas Jr. for his many crimes as Owlman.

Wayne. Jr. and the other members of the Crime Syndicate have maintained a large control over their source Earth against other powered organizations such as the Crime Lodge and Young Offenders until recently when the Weaponers of Qward devastated the antimatter Earth. When the Crime Syndicate began kidnapping people from the 52 multiverse matter based worlds and was invaded by the Justice League to retrieve the people from the Justice League Earth, Wayne, Jr. along with Super-woman and Kent of his same Earth were banished to a prison subdimension while Johnny Quick and the current Power Ring was captured.

It is unknown if Wayne, Jr. remains banished or has escaped back to his source Earth.(This is the storyline in which I will be using starting now).....Escaping Owlman looks for revenge from the Justice league. Returning to The Justice League's Earth he begins looking for companions with the same intentions as he......DEATH UPON THE LEAGUE!

.The burning question - Why this character?: I have have multiple years of practice in different role play forums and scenes, and ussually my character is The Great Bruce Wayne as Batman! Now that I am moving to the hype with role play for one I can see Batman is taken, and Owlman is close enough to the cape crusader. Plus I have never played a evil role, as my main character. So a evil Batman should be interesting.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: I have great experience rp'ing as Batman, and yes it might be hard going to a evil role but at least character wise it should be simular. I have also been a huge fan of all the crisis comics, so forth having almost next to perfect knowledge on Owlman.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: My writing skills in the imagination department are very strong if I do say so myself, and would like to show/prove to others.

-the night is young, but already the shadows of the moon are darker then ussual-
-A dark figure prowls through the city of Gotham leaping from roof top to roof top....his mere presence would scare the crimnals down below. For his appearance in the dark night would appear to be that of The Protector of Gotham. Stoping on the top of a building more famous'ly known as Wayne Enterprise.....he crouches low with his cape draging and knee's close to the floor of the rooftop as his eyes search through streets of Gotham-
-a raspy voice would fill a empty sky only to be heard by himself....-
"So where does the search begin....."
-Searching the city in hopes for someone or something with a gudge that he feels cursed with he continues his search. Slowly rising up as his cape rises from the ground. He keeps with his search leaping from the top of Gotham's largets building.....inceasing'ly coming closer to the street that wishes to taste the satisfaction of his blood. Just a mere 20 feet from the road that craves the death of his body would he graple to a near by roof top. Swinging from roof top to roof top...he would begin his trip to a old abdon'ed toy factory in hopes to find a man named Red Hood, yet on this Earth more famous'ly known for a more darker side...The Joker-

So. Your "Ultimate" Owlman is pretty much the same one from the regular DC universe, and your origin and backstory seems like it was ripped off from wikipedia or another one of those websites , you did not answer the question about why this Owlman is different than the mainstream version, but seeing from your backstory you might as well put "none...at all...none what so ever" and your sample post is confusing and jumbled up.

The big problem I've got with Batmansince1939's application (aside from the grammar and weird word choices) is that you're using the mainstream DCU continuity, which doesn't apply to Ultimate DC. Everything here is being built pretty much from scratch, so stuff like the Weaponers of Qward and the 52 multiverse aren't in the works at the moment. I mean currently, there's not even a Justice League. Having an alternate-universe character show up out of the blue right now would just jumble things up.

And really, there are plenty of 'evil Batman' characters that can be used without having to go into cosmic, multiverse-related stuff. The Wraith, Prometheus, Catman, even obscure guys like Killer Moth or Blue Bat could be incorporated with the right amount of imagination.

I know you've got your heart set on being Batman or an off-brand Batman, but if you've got the imagination for it, then you really should be able to come up with something more.

While I'm not comfortable allowing third characters, I think I'd be willing to make a special exception for Legionaire characters, or characters from the 30th century. The reason I'm not allowing thirds for every character is because I felt it'd take away from the present-day storyline if there were so many PC's played by the same people. But in a future storyline, that really affects nothing unless the Legion travel to the present - something I've been assured will not happen for awhile, at least.

So anyone who wants a Legionaire can go ahead and apply. Any current Legionaire who wants a second present-day character can also go ahead and apply.

.Powers and physical attributes: Saint Walker's blue ring give's him the ability to boost a Green ring's power through the power of hope. That does not, however leave him defenceless.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): A devout believer in God and the divine plan, Saint Walker was chosen to be amongst the very first Green Lanterns. Rumour states that he was the first Blue Lantern, but he only ever answers the younger recruits questions with an old and knowing smile. He has certainly seen many battles; Yamault, the last defence of Saphira and purge of the Red Lanterns, to name but a few. And throughout all of this he has kept hope and kept faith.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Good god, who doesn't want in on this Ultimate Corps.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: I view the Ultimate Blue Lanterns as sort of battle preachers...that'll be coming through.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Magic? Sparkle sparkle.

The Battle of Yamault

The shells fell around the crater which sheltered the small group of Lanterns. The majority of them were some of the youngest Green Lantern recruits and this was their first service. The youngest of them all was still, as his colleague tended to the wound on his stomach.

"He wont last til morning, father," the young Indigo lantern said, looking up.

"Father, what do we do?" another, a full-blooded Green Lantern asked.

Saint Walker stood up quietly, looking over the lip of the crater and into the carnage of the battlefield beyond.

"We walk," he whispered, as a blue blade formed along his arm. He flew upwards in the air, immediately drawing red bolts of fire from the battlefield below.

The rag-tag bunch of recruits followed him, shouting cries of war as the Red Lantern host charged them. The traitor Lanterns massed upon Saint Walker, the majority being thrown off by the Blue Lantern. His blue blade slid through the chest of one Red Lantern, and scythed through another.

"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death," he shouted clearly across the battlefield.

"I shall fear no evil, for you are with me," he cried as he stabbed and slashed at the red masses before him.

"Your rod and your staff they comfort me," he screamed, beheading the leader of the wave who had just rushed them.

The surviving Lanterns formed a ring around the Blue preacher.

"They're regrouping, father," the Indigo lantern breathed.

"What's that?" one asked "Up in the sky?"

Saint Walker smiled, the first one in days "It is William,"

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Walking the Line

.Powers and physical attributes: The ability to copy the powers of any metahuman he comes into contact with. Amazo is able to possess multiple powers at a time.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Nothing is known about Amazo before he woke up on a cold slab inside a Metropolis morgue. He was frightened and confused upon his awakening, with no recollection of how he got there, who he was, or any past memories what-so-ever. He desperately tried to remember his name, but even that was impossible. The tag on his toe read John Doe, so that was the name he went with.

John Doe stole some clothes and snuck out of the morgue and into the Metropolis night. He lived in alleyways and under bridges, a vagrant with a fractured mind with no hope of ever answering his many questions. He was a broken shell of a man.

Until the day he met Superman.

Some colossal monster was attacking Metropolis, and Superman rushed in to battle the beast and save the day. In the process he rescued John and others from a collapsing building. And when Superman came within close proximity to him, John felt a sudden rush of power flowing through him. Later that evening, drunk and stumbling over a bridge, John tumbled over the edge. But he did not fall.

To John's astonishment, he was floating in mid-air. Flying just like Superman.
Then he thought back to his encounter with the hero, and that strange rush of energy he felt. John decided to test his theory and landed in a nearby parking lot. The lot was deserted save for a few cars and one large SUV. John walked up to the SUV and carefully gripped the back bumper. After taking a deep breath, John lifted up...and accidentally threw the car twenty yards away.

John was stunned. Somehow he had copied Superman's powers. This was amazing, he thought. And no sooner than that thought crossed his mind then memories exploded in his head.

He was in a laboratory, there were scientists hovering over him like wolves over a hurt lamb. One of the scientists, the one in charge, wore a name tag...Ivo, it read. And Ivo smiled and spoke of how proud he was of his amazing creation, his Amazo he named him. The place...it's name...it's name was Cadmus.

As soon as the memories came, they vanished. But this new-found discovery and power fueled John. He was going to find this man, Ivo, no matter the cost. And when he finds him, he will make him fix his memories and explain what he did to him.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Amazo always had a soft spot with me, ever since my days in the DTL. I've always thought he was under-developed and had tons of potential, so I figured I'd give him a shot here.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: For starters, my Amazo isn't an android or a robot. He's a man, a meta-human that was experimented on. If it sounds a bit like Wolverine, then you're right. I'm using Wolverine and the Marcus Wright character from Terminator as a few of my influences.
As such, his entire background and origin will be different.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Experience in role-playing, and a kick ass character.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

He pulled the dirty trench coat in tight around him as the rain beat down. Scratching his beard, John looked around for some form of shelter. Finally he found it in the form of a covered bus stop. An elderly woman was standing there as well, huddled in the other corner trying to stay dry.

"Hello there", John said with a polite nod.

"Hello yourself, young man. It seems that intelligent minds think alike", she replied as she nodded to the bus stop covering them.

John chuckled, "They do indeed."

They stood there in silence for a few minutes as the rain pattered on the roof of the bus stop. The woman had been eyeballing him with a look of hesitance and sympathy.

"You...you're...a...", she fumbled out as she tried to find the words. John clearly knew what she wanted to ask, it was just that she didn't want to seem rude.
John sighed, "yes, I'm homeless. I have been for almost a year now."

"I'm sorry", she replied, the thing that 99% if the people who ask him say.

"It's okay", John replied.

"Here", she spoke as he reached into her purse and pulled out her wallet.
"All I've got is twenty dollars, but you can have it. Get yourself something to eat and a haircut."

John laughed, "Not a fan of the Grizzly Adams look?"

"Not particularly", smiled the woman.

Suddenly a masked man rushed in from nowhere, knocked the woman down and took her purse. It had happened so fast, John was frozen for a few seconds before he processed what had just happened.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

Born to an unknown father and mother in Central City, Denny Colt was dropped off at an orphanage as a newborn. He lived in the orphanage with a dozen other kids. One of them was his best friend, Sand Saref. The two grew close in the 12 years they spent in the group home. At the age of 13, Denny was adopted by John Dolan, Central City's Police Commissioner. Denny lived with Dolan, his wife and daughter Ellen. His first few years with Dolan and his family were tough on all of them, Denny was constantly getting into trouble and sneaking out to spend time with Sand. It was during this time Denny realized he loved Sand. One night after sneaking out, Denny found out that Sand had been adopted and her new parents had left Central City with her.

Heartbroken, Denny became depressed and quit his trouble making. Dolan, seeing Denny's depression started taking the boy with him to the police station. His time spent with Dolan and other officers made Denny realize that being a police officer was what he wanted to do with his life. As soon as he graduated from high school, he enrolled in the police academy and is now a patrol officer for Central City PD.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I'm a big Spirit fan. I have copies of Eisner's legendary run, Cooke's reboot and I was pumped for the movie...until I saw it. :csad:

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: His backstory has been changed up significantly, and his relationship with Sand and Ellen Dolan will be different. When he becomes The Spirit, there will also be some changes.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A decent RPer who is a Spirit fan.

"I tell ya, kid." Officer Eisner says as he lights a cigarette off his lighter.

"The damn town is getting stranger and stranger. What with these stupid rogues running around, and this Flash jergoff they got? Please, we're the real heroes out here."

I only remain silent as I continue down the streets in the squadcar.

I've been on the force now for three years, and in that time I've seen some cool stuff. It sure as heck beats digging a ditch for the rest of my days, something that would have happened if I'd stayed in that group home.

"Thing of it is, kid. Lieutenant Garrick acts like he likes The Flash. You believe that?"

"Well, Will. He does help us out."

"Yeah, by causing more headaches than he does anything!"

I pick up the mic and speak.

I hit the blue lights and stomp the gas.

.Powers and physical attributes: Dick is a normal twelve year old kid with no special abilities, except a very intense and skilled training in the martial arts.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): (As provided as Byrd Man which works very well)- Dick grew up in Bludhaven the suburbs of Gotham City with his parents John Grayson and Mary Grayson. Dick was bullied on at school despite having a happy home life, his father a cop in the GCPD took Dick to a martial arts class to learn to defend himself- next time someone tried to pick on him, Dick ended up breaking and dislodging his arm and after that- everyone left him alone. His happiness was not to laugh on his tenth birthday his mother received news of breast cancer and died a few short months afterwards. His father also was in the secret alliance, along with Lieutenant James Gordon with the vigilante kn won as The Batman against mob boss Tony Zucco which led to John's untimely death. Dick now lives in an orphanage in down town Gotham City living alone in solitude and greiving the murder of his parents.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Dick Grayson ever since I was a kid was one of my favourite characters, in some instances even more so than Batman himself. His story is one of my favourites and I see a little of myself in the character but also a chance to escape reality in a nice blend.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: With the story Byrd Man provided- I hope to bring what I feel will be a diffrent take on this classic character and hope to have some good times RPing with others.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Hopefully a entertaining story and entirely different spin on the tales that will eventually become Batman and Robin.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

Gotham Orphanage was home to over 150 children who had lost their parents before the age of 16 and had no other legal guardians to take them in. It was poor and over crowded, the beds were dirty and dust filled but the charity workers there tried their best to keep the young children happy- sometimes the kids were having fun forgetting the loss of their parents, other times it was of grave concern to make sure harm did not come to them and others. One case was Dick Grayson- a young orphaned boy whose father, a police officer was murdered in an organised crime stake and mother died a few months before that of breast cancer, leaving their young son of only 12 years old alone in the world. Upon arriving at the orphanage, Dick went up to his small room and stayed there practising the art of kung fu that his mentor "Master Hayley" taught him to defend himself from bullying, as well as comic books and spend his time watching small portions of TV in complete silence. The caretakers became increasingly worried and sent him to the children's psychologist- Dr. Joplin for inspection who spent various sessions with the young boy who would only give short, one word answers to each question. This session was no different.

Dr. Joplin smiled as Dick sat down, starring on the floor in a depression like state- someone already fed up with the world. He seemed to be taking his parents death, better, then most kids. But perhaps being in silence was not the best option for young Richard as Dr. Joplin examined him. Dr. Joplin put down his note bad and discarded the Rorschach papers deciding to come to Dick as a friend.

"So Richard, tell me about your father?" A silence erupted the room before the anger hiding beneath the boy's skin and teeth came into a short quick answer. "He was a cop." Dr. Joplin sighed, "I know that, but can you tell me something nice about him? What you two liked to do together?" Dick stared the doctor straight in the eyes before answering coldly again "What's the point? He's dead now." Dick regretted every bit of himself for saying that, but it was the truth and the truth hurts, no matter how much you try and hide it. Dr. Joplin sighed and put his glasses and note pad down before getting up and patting Dick on the shoulder. "Why don't you go outside to play with the other children? It could be fun." Dick starred at him and nodded walking out of the door as his therapist collapsed on his chair and lit up a cigarette- he felt hopeless. How could he help this young boy who couldn't help himself? Life was hard for him, no child can take that much pressure so what difference was he going to make to the boy's life?

Outside Dick read a book on Bruce Lee, patiently while the other kids were playing basketball, soccer and they invited him to play but he just sunk himself into his book learning about the art of fighting. Other kids found this strange, and three found damn right insulting and wanted to teach the quiet kid who liked Kung Fu a lesson. "Hey!" one of them shouted to Dick, he didn't listen just kept patiently reading his book. "Hey!" again he shouted, Dick still wasn't listening.

"Hey kid, I hear you like to fight people?" he said with the two right behind him. Dick still ignored them, patiently. The fat kid still insisted on taunting him "yeah, I hear you just stay in your room punching and kicking the air." he laughed "Yeah man, what a looser." the fat one still insisted on taunting him "Bet you do that cause you can't really fight. You just want to huh? Hey! I'm talking to you!" the kid slapped Dick's book onto the floor into the concrete Dick stared at him. "So you don't actually like to fight? You just like to read about it? Well, why don't we have a fight then?" Dick stared at him. "I would fight you, but then again why waste my time- accidentally wounding someone who's just going to be 30 tons to big to get out of their own bed in three years?"

The fat boy didn't like that as Dick picked up his book and walked away, "Now, please. Leave me alone." The fat kid tried desperately to think of a come back- "I'll...I'll leave you alone alright!" and run up to Dick who turned around saying "That doesn't make any sense." But the kid just punched Dick in the face and he fell to the ground with a bloody nose he wiped it as the other three laughed at him,. "Yeah not so tough now, are you smart guy?" Dick wiped the blood off his nose, put the book to one side and proceeded to jump up in the air and kicked the fat boy in the chest and grabbing his face knocking his nose down onto his fist and finishing off with a throw. He could hear a small snap somewhere from his leg as the fat boy cried and the whole playground was in silence as Dick just smirked.

No, but seriously, I'm glad that you at least got to establish a definitive Selina Kyle in the game. That was one of my many problems with the last game - there were so many versions and variations of Catwoman's story that it was hard to keep track.

Now, I just have to hope someone else gets the urge to ride your coattails.

For what it's worth, it is an interesting story to tell. I just didn't feel that I was the person to tell it.

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Hero

.Powers and physical attributes: Carter has the power of flight thanks to his huge wings. He has inherited the fighting skills of everyone who has held the power of Horus, makng him proficient in the use of archaic weaponry. He also has hieghtened strength, stamina and durability.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

Thousands of years ago, when man was still young, The Gods Horus and Osiris waged battle amongst themselves. Their battles were so furious and unbridled that they almost tore apart the universe. Eventually, a truce was reached. The Gods would not settle their differences between themselves, for fear of ripping apart all of reality. Instead they would each choose avatars to represent them on Earth.

Horus would later be known and worshipped as the Sky God, the Sun God and the War God by various peoples. He granted one warrior a generation with great power. This guardian protected against the tendrils of evil that Osiris imbued in every living creature. He would be known as the Hawkman, a winged avenger.

However, the last Guardian to carry the power of Hawkman was defeated by great evil. Hath-Set was an agent of Osiris, a powerful being of capable of great evil. Hawkman was slain by Hath-Set himself, his power sealed with his corpse inside a magical casket and the casket buried beneath the deepest mountain.

The power of the Hawkman was lost to the Earth for hundreds of years whilst the agents of Osiris himself bedded into society.

Carter Hall was a mere security guard for Ninth Corp, a company meddling in genetic and improving the Human Genome. At the head of the companies endeavours sat the mysterious Project Thanagar, lead by Dr. Kendra Saunders.

One night on his usual patrol, Hall was witness to a break-in. A dozen heavily armed men assaulted the building, assaulting Carter and making their to Dr Saunders laboratories. As he was being restrained, Carter learned that they were looking for Project Thanagar.

Breaking free of his captors, Carter raced for the labs in time to see a hooded fellow stood over what seemed to be a casket. As the man attempted to open the casket, Carter attacked him, attempting to restrain the man. However, the intruders got the better of him and restrained him once more. The man opened the casket and brilliant light poured forth, filling the labs with a blinding brilliance. Everyone fell back in shock. Carter felt the light burning his flesh, piercing his body and his mind. He thought he would lose his mind as visions and flashes of strange lands and war and death filled his head.

When it subsided, Carter was stood in the center of the lab, bodies strewn around his feet and thier blood splattered across the walls, the floor and his own body. Carter had been imbued with the power of Horus, he had been chosen as the new Hawkman.

.The burning question- Why this character?: Hawkman is awesome but his history is very convoluted. I figured I'd try and make honour the character with a decent retelling.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Well, the character is more steeped in the Egyptian mythologies, as well as his wings being apart of his physical make-up. His fighting techniques are passed on in the form of memory from previous wielders of the Hawkman power.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Everything I've ever put in answering this question in every other app I've ever made in this and every other RPG.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

Carter dropped the magazine he was reading to his desk as he heard the door to the atrium squeak open. He knew who it was before he even saw her. The familiar clicking of smart heels on marble floor echoing into the rafters. Dr. Kendra Saunders. She was always the first one through the doors on a morning and the last one out in the evening. The clock had just ticked over past 10pm as Carter looked up and smiled. "Another late night Dr. Saunders?" he asked.

Dr. Saunders returned the smile as she began fumbling in her handbag for something. "You know me Carter, live for the job".

Carter grinned and picked at an unseen spot on his desk. "You not hitting the town tonight then?"

She found what she was looking for, pulling a set of car keys from her bag triumphantly. "Nope, I don't have the time or any company. A glass of wine and a chick flick for me this evening. Sometimes I think the only two places I ever see are my bed and my lab".

A small chuckle escaped his lips, "Well maybe we'll have to see about changing that!" he exclaimed.

Dr. Saunders looked at him and blushed, "Well umm..." she stammered, pushing a lock of loose hair nervously behind her ear.

Carter looked at her, realising the insinuation in his last words. The shock hit home like a lead weight. "Oh! Dr. Saunders, I'm sorry! I didn't mean... Y'know? I uhh..."

"It's okay Carter" she smiled, "Don't worry about it. Oh, and call me Kendra". She turned from him and made her way to the exit. Carter slapped his forehead in frustration at his blunder. She stopped in the doorway and turned her back to him."Carter, I'm free on sunday night" she called over, before turning and heading out into the night before Carter fully registered her words.

"Whose the man?" Carter asked his grinning reflection in the bathroom mirror. He fixed his tie straight and smoothed down his security guards uniform. He clicked his fingers and shot an imaginary bullet at his reflection. "You da man, Carter" he replied to his own question. He already had a plan laid out for sunday night. Dinner at the Blue Dolphin, the smartest restaurant in town. It'd cost him most of his meagre security guard wages but the sway of Kendra Saunders hips was bright in his mind and he knew she was worth it.

Carter left the bathroom and collected his flashlight from his desk in the main atrium. As he turned and considered making one last patrol for the night, he heard a whisper behind him. Carter spun on his heel, seeking the source, but the huge atrium was empty. Ninth Corp had invested millions into this building and its state of the art technology. It was so good that Carter often thought he was only there to to turn the lights out in the evening.

He shook his head and clipped his flashlight to his belt. As his own footsteps echoed around him, the lights went out. The whole building being lunged into blackness. Carter froze and unhooked his flashlight, swinging around and trying to see what had happened.

The eerie silence shook him to his core. He was so used to the gentle hum of electricity that powered the massive complex that now it was gone, it seemed... soulless.

Carter made his way to the front doors. There was nothing outside other than a silent street. He turned from the glass and back into the building. A hand grasped his own and twisted it, forcing him to drop the light. Carter struggled but a hard fist rocked his jaw and knocked him for six. Carter fell to the floor, tasting the sweet mettalic taint of his own blood in his mouth. Rough hands dragged him to his feet and across the atrium. Carter, still dazed and confused made out at least four figures surrounding him.

They tied him to his chair, binding and gagging him. All four men were dressed from head to toe in black outfits, like some kind of military black-ops team. All four of them had their back to him. Carter tried to struggle, fumbling at the ropes that held his wrists together. One of them en infront touched a hand to his ear. "Yeah, I'll send two of them up" he grunted to what Carter assumed must have been a radio. He man turned to two of his comrades. "Rico, Bean, get yourself to the labs. The boss thinks he's found Project Thanagar. Me and Koslov will watch the guard".

The two men nodded and disappeared, leaving Carter in the company of just the two. "What the hell is Project Thana-whatever?" the other man, Koslov, asked.

The leader shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno, we don't get paid to know, just to do the job".

Koslov grunted a response and both men fell silent once more.

Behind them, Carter had managed to work free an arm from hs bonds and was feverishly working the other free. With a final tug, he pulled free of the rope and rose silently. Withdrawing his baton and his tazer from his belt Carter swung as hard as he could at the back of the leaders head.

THUNK!

The leader went down in a heap. Before Koslov could move, Carter had jabbed his tazer into the mans neck, drooping him to the ground too. Carter searched them for weapons and their radios, before tying their arms together. He hit the emergency button under his desk that would alert the Police before heading towards the stairs himself. No one was going to be stealing anything, especially on his watch.

Cater reached the top floor of the building with little resistance. He'd taken three guards by surprise, taking down each of them with his baton and tazer. Their guns had been siezed and he hid all five weapons in an old air conditioning vent. Project Thanagar was something that Kendra Saunders had been working on for the past eighteen months and so Carter made a bee-line for her labs. When he got there he could see the doors had been blown through and the remaining intruders were stood with their backs to him, their attention focused on something laid out in front of them.

Carter crept in and skirted around the lab, keeping low behind work surfaces and units. As he moved into position, he saw another man in dark robes and a black mask with his hands over what appeared to be a golden casket. The casket was laid with intricate patterns, shining jewels all centered on a shinng circle of black jewels in the middle of the casket. "Hmm, the locks upon this are strong indeed. Soon, I will not only be in the grace of Osiris but will also control the power of Horus. Then the Gods themselves will bow to me!" the dark shape growled.

Carter watched as thick black smoke billowed from the mans hands and covered the casket. Carter had seen enough. Leaping from his hiding place, Carter tackled the man to the ground. Before he could react, bodies had piled onto him and were dragging him to his feet. "Hold him!" the smoke man barked. "He'll be the first to spill his blood for me when I ascend to God-hood!"

The soldiers held him tight. "You are an idiot coming and thinking you can take us on", one of the soldiers growled. "Hath-Set will eat your heart".

Carter watched as the man, Hath-Set began to work once more on the casket, his white eyes gleaming. The black jewels began to pop and slide on the surface of the casket, moving into a new shape. The lid popped and hissed, and slid open. Hath-Set grinned, black smoky tendrils slid under the lid and lifted it free. As the lid moved white light screamed from the casket, pouring into the labs. Men fell back and cried. Carter couldn't see for the white brilliance. The light burned his flesh, piercing his flesh like sharp needles. His mind screamed in agony as the light washed through him. Carter fell to his knees, his fingers clawing at burning temples. Images flashed in front of his blinded eyes. Warriors doing battle, sand and blood kicking up into the air. Horses screaming and weapons ringing, steel on steel. Carter cried out in agony as he saw wings, huge and thick and feathered. A mace crashed down on a skull splintering it. Blood sprayed across a golden helm. He saw sky and clouds and the darkness of death.

Carter collapsed and everything went black.

When he awoke, he was stood. In the distance he could hear police sirens. He blinked, his blurred vision regaining focus. As Carter looked around, he saw blood everywhere. Up the walls and on the floor across his bare arms and chest. Dead bodies were strewn around him, those of the men who had held him. The dark man, Hath-Set was nowhere to be seen.

Carter staggered back, his eyes wide with horror. His back felt heavy and sore. Carter glanced across, a glass partition showing him a fractured image of himself, huge feathered wings sprouted from his back. Carter screamed and reached around, grasping at feathers.

The door to the labs burst open and a platoon of SWAT officers burst in, levelling their weapons at him. "FREEZE! GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!" they bellowed, as they moved foraward. Carter took a step back, his mind reeling, unable to even speak. Instinctively he turned and ran, bursting through a large window and into the night sky.

I did a couple of concepts for Ultimate WW, and came up with only two I liked.

The one on the left is basically the same thing as the original, and I think the one on the right would work a lot better for Donna Troy than for Diana. I never really liked the look of the skirt, but it's hard to do the one-piece costume without it looking too overly sexualized.

It's sleek, simple, and is easy on the eyes without being too trashy. To 'ultimize' it, I'd add a little silver trimming to the gold pieces and vice versa for the silver bracelets, maybe get rid of the tiara.

I'd love to see what Trusty can do.

Oh, and Lex is pretty much just Lex for now. I dug that white coat that Spacey wore in SR; maybe that with a dark purple shirt underneath (sort of referencing his old lab-coat from the Golden Age and the purple costume from the Silver Age)

.Powers and physical attributes: Endowed with the legendary Galactic Lantern Corps ring, the wearer is granted access to superhuman abilities far beyond the capabilities of manmade weapons. Limited only to emotion and imagination - the former designating a Corpsman's identifiable color and rank within the field - the ring allows the creation of energy-based constructs from the wearer's thoughts in order to use within the restrictions of Oan Law. Hal Jordan's ring specifically taps into the valuable Green Lantern energy, putting him among the most common and respected agents of the Lantern Corps' ranks. Based upon a Corpsman's rank and color, specific abilities of the ring are heightened by specific personality traits- such as rage, for Red Lanterns, and intimidation for Yellow. Hal's, being Green, is powered through force of willpower and determination.

The rings must be consistently recharged via a GLC-supplied chargebox, dubbed a 'Lantern', activated by DNA and voice recognition in the form of color-based oaths. All of the Lanterns' power derives from the mystical element flame - a heat fueled source of cosmic energy discovered millions of years ago by The Guardians of The Universe.

Without the ring, Hal is an experienced pilot and exceptional brawler, based off of years of training with the United States Airforce and Marines. His fatal flaw lies, perhaps, in the fact that years of emotional trauma has led him to become fierce in action and intolerant of authority.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Henry 'Hal' Jordan's life was in shambles whenever he was chosen to be the next Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Born to a father that died when he was young and a mother that despised his bloodbourne addiction to thrills, it seemed no one was willing to accept Hal for who he was. Spending his entire life trying to gain acceptance from the people he loved, his ill-attempted results and their consequences turned him into a bitter young man. Which was why he was perfect for Carol Ferris, the hotheaded daughter of one of the world's top airmen - the two were kindred spirits lost in the world around them. Falling in love and soon marrying, Hal was just about to finally find stability in his life when Carol's father died. Taking it just as hard as she did, Hal soon found his marriage in jeopardy at the hands of an emotionally shutout Carol. Trying his best to reconcile, it was then that destiny had to come crashing on his doorstep - literally speaking. Hal Jordan had been drafted as the newest recruit for The Lantern Corps, a secret organization based beyond Earth and it's galaxy, dedicated to the protection and enforcement of all life. Having to make a difficult choice between his distraught wife and a higher calling that awaited him, Jordan chose the former and left Earth to train on Oa, the home of the Lanterns and their Guardians.

Three years later, and Hal is just now making the rank of field operative for the Green Lanterns. He has adopted an alien culture and strict regime as his new life, and taken to brawls with his fellow Corpsmen and a impassioned love affair with the alien Arisia. The scourge of the Corps for his hard edged attitude and reckless behavior, Hal Jordan now carries the responsibility of doing the hardest thing he's ever had to do: Returning to Earth, as the newly designated protector of Sector 2814. He is no longer the man he was - only now, has he learned to stop calling himself Hal Jordan, and start answering to the name of The Green Lantern.

.The burning question - Why this character?: To be honest, he's becoming one of my favorites. Ever since Geoff Johns decided to spin the GL mythos around and bring Hal back to the forefront, I've become increasingly invested in the title and everything that surrounds it. Not to mention he's about as far away from Batman as you could get, which is ultimately what I was looking for in a second character. So to take the character and make him as much of my own as the RPG's seems like a natural way to explore why I've began liking more and more Green Lantern stories in the past few years - aswell as why they've endured so many years in general.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Well firstly, I've tried to be careful in keeping with Blacklight's continuity while adding my own thing to it. The good thing about it is that not much has been established - specifically Hal's personality, which I really want to tinker with. For too long he's been known as the goody-twoshoes of the Green Lantern Corps - the ultimate hero, through and through. And that strikes me as odd, considering how much weight he has on his shoulders. I mean, come on... the guy has to protect an entire galaxy at once! So I'm doing away with this 'fearless', 'unbreakable' crap that's almost made Hal a stale staple of the DC Universe and turning Hal into what he never was: A hardass who's taken far too much crap from his life, and finally has the means to strike back at everything that's ever ailed him. This is not Superman with a ring inplace of powers - this is the soldier that Hal's always been compared to, but never truly captured.

I also plan to mess around a bit with some of the more notable GL conceptions throughout the comics, such as the weakness to yellow and why the Guardians are so out of tune with their officers. There are some things that, due to differing writers, haven't really made alot of sense in the entire spectrum of the Green Lantern history. My plan is to streamline it all into something cohesive, while staying true to the fantastical elements of what makes the tone of the books so engaging and refreshing. This character has the potential to be the centerpiece of a science fiction epic, and by god, I want to do my best to make him that.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: I want to provide a deep look at the world of a Lantern Corpsmen- the aliens, the sectors, cultures and so forth - while steeping it into a place where even the most casual GL fan can grasp it. While I do that, I also want to really bring home the fact that even though Hal Jordan may be the best Lantern on the field, he's not required to be the most likable or the most logical.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

For the first time in years, Commander Hal Jordan found himself without words.

It was a sense of unbelievability that he hadn't felt when, probably, he should have. He didn't feel it when he was discharged from the Air Force. He didn't feel it the first time he laid eyes on Carol Ferris, the daughter of Ferris Aircraft's head honcho... and the true reason that he stayed behind to help out around that junkheap. And startlingly enough, he didn't even feel it the moment that he was approached by an emerald clan, purple skin toned airbourne alien named Abin Sur, who had traveled many a lightyear to seek out Jordan and draft him into what would become the most elite squadron in the galaxy.

So why he felt it now, he didn't know. But he figured that didn't matter much, as he continued on in a single file line that spanned from one end of OA's extravagant war dome, right down to the other. It was a practice and a sport that Hal himself didn't much care for, as it was nothing but a display of two individuals' brutality. While he did enjoy a good scrap from time to time, he preferred it on duty... knowing he was getting something accomplished. And unfortunately, that was precisely the kind of thinking that got him kicked out of the Air Force in the first place.

But he had no choice. He was under strict orders from his superior Corpsman, Sin'estro, and the council of Guardians to undergo a month regime and status report of how far his training had exceeded, since originally donning his power ring. And while he knew he could've 'showed' them right then and there, Hal had more class than that. So unfortunately, now, he found himself crammed in between something that looked like it belonged in a horror movie, and something that looked like it's ugly mother. Finally reaching the end of the line, moments later, Hal was approached by a tall, multi-legged creature in what appeared to be a Guardian robe, but without the same insignia.

"Akada Nikto Mekana.", It spoke, with what appeared to be tendrils dangling out of it's mouth.

Hal raised an eyebrow, bewildered by what he was looking at. "Come again, slick?"

"Akada Nikto Mekana.", It repeated, seemingly growing impatient.

For a moment, Hal simply stared. But upon realisation of how he could fix this little matter of miscommunication, Jordan lifted his hand, and displayed the emerald ring upon his finger.

"Here. This'll help...", Jordan stated, as the ring exerted a beam of energy that enveloped the beast's entire head.

"Name and Sector.", The alien spoke in now flawless english, under the bubble of energy Hal had coated it with.

"Oh. Um... Jordan, Hal. Sector 2814?"

"It does not sound familiar.", The creature responded. "You are sure this is your designation?"

Annoyed, Jordan narrowed his gaze. "Look, handsome, I'm under orders from the big man himself. So if you want to take it up with him, it'd be more than my pleasure to accomodate."

The creatures eyes widened. All eight of them.

"You were sent by the mighty Ganthet?!"

Hal paused.

Gan... what, now? No. No, I meant my Corps officer, Sinestro."

"Ah, I see.", The creature realized. "You may pass. You're expected in chamber 587 for suit-up and a practice run."

Hal sighed, walking past the creature.

"Never a dull moment."

Lantern Corp.

A race of creatures known only as the Guardians had watched the universe for millennia. They saw the good in creatures and the bad, viewing their many acts and the emotions that drove them. As they plotted for years, the Guardians worked toward a universal organization of heroes who would protect specific sectors of the universe to ensure peace and prosperity. After a millennia or so, they settled on a final idea. A Lantern Corp.

The Guardians came together on a planet called "Oa" and built a highly technologically advanced device called the power core. The guardians then made a weapon for each of their intergalactic "officers" - a single ring, able to harness the emotional power of the user. This device would be fueled by the power core, giving it energy so the officer wielding the ring could use their emotions to control the immense power. The guardians then began careful selection of their officers, finding only the most noble - fearless organisms to wield their rings. They soon found a small few, less than a thousand. These first Lanterns would come to be known as the Alpha Lanterns.

As the Guardians trained the Lanterns, they soon found an interesting phenomenon with their rings. The color the ring projected depended upon the emotion driving the wearer. Some of these emotions were positive, others were negative.

Blue - Hope
Indigo - Compassion
Green - Willpower
Sapphire - Love
Yellow - Fear
Red - Rage
Orange - Avarice

They learned the power behind each emotion, finding the strength each one had, and the unpredictability of others. The four accepted colors in the Corp would be Blue, Indigo, Green, and Sapphire. The rejected colors were those of yellow, red, and orange. Any Lantern found using these colors was expelled and stripped of their ring. The emotions driving those colors were not needed nor wanted in an organization based on protecting the universe.

Where as the three negative emotion colors were banished and forbidden, the remaining four were each given special tasks. The Sapphire Corp were more suited to humanitarian work. This unit would report directly to the Guardians - investigating cases across the universe and giving their reports to the Guardians. The Indigo Corp was given the task of being Medics. Because their ranks were so few and their emotion compassion, the Guardians saw these individuals as being best suited to the task of healing. The Blue Corp would be sent out on special missions to aid the other Corps, seeing as their hope was inspiring and a powerful asset to the other units of the organization. The Green Corp, motivated by willpower and discipline, would become the base of their organization. These individuals would each be assigned (by pair) to each of the 3600 sectors of the universe to protect and uphold the law (Book of Oa). Each Corp has their own oath, helping them to specifically channel the emotion they require.

For centuries the Lantern Corp has thrived to uphold the Book of Oa's laws. The Guardians now have drill instructors on Oa, trusted officers hand selected by them to train their new recruits. The process is rigorous and tough, and recruit unable to achieve one of the four allowed colors is instantly rejected and expelled. Now the Corp as a whole continues to protect the universe from evil - and shine their brightest light.

Edward Nygma was born to Joeseph and Mary Nygma in Kentucky, a rather normal and uninteresting childhood and home life led him to want bigger and better things, he strived to be the best in everything. Later on in life he discovered a passion for figuring things out, namely people. He began to see how they worked as beings, their patterns and their own little mysteries stood out to him. He used his way with people to climb the ranks in several police precincts. The young Nygma moved around a lot, trying to find somewhere that deserved his special attention, he finally found that place with Gotham.

From me:

Originally assigned to be a robbery detective and then homicide, Nygma found himself scorned by the GCPD's political machine, he could make no higher than sergeant. What was worse, the cases he worked were becoming to easy and continued to bore him.

Enter The Hangman.

Starting in the summer of 2004, a killer rounded up victims, hanging them on light poles throughout the city and pinning the game of hangman on their chests. Nygma as assigned as the primary investigator.

It took almost a year, but Nygma brought the case in and was annointed the GCPD's lastest hero. For his actions, Nygma as promoted to Lieutenant and handed the reigns of the Major Crimes Squad.


.The burning question - Why this character?: I'm a huge Bat-fan, Riddler is one of my favorite Rogues and Arkham Asylum gave me some ideas.


.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: I like Gallagher's version of Nygma, and I want to continue with it. He won't be as OCD as the regular comics version, but his obcession with puzzles will still be there.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A decent RPer with a love of Batman history.

"Look who it is. Slumming down here on the west side, Lieutenant?" The uniform mutters with a chuckle as I walk under the crime scene tape.

"The person involved in this crime is part of an active case, officer." I say as I squat down over the dead body.

"Well...he was a part of our case."

Jefferson Skeevers. At one time he was Carmine Falcone's right hand man. That was before Falcone got sent up to Stonegate and Tony Zucco took control of the family. One of Zucco's first acts was demoting Skeevers back to muscle. From what the MCU has been hearing on our wires, you could cut the tension between the two with a knife.

The body is full of bullet holes and stab wounds, alongside lignature marks around the neck. He was stabbed, shot, and then strangled.

The body tells me everything I need to know. From the defense wounds and bruises on his arms, to the dull blood seeping out his stab wounds, even the off purple bruises around his neck.

Skeevers was pinned down, shot multiple times at point blank range with a .38, then stabbed and strangled post-mortem. His pockets are turned inside out. I don't reach behind him, I know that his wallet is missing too.

Someone hit Skeevers professionally, then made it look like a crime of desperation and passion.

"Okay. I'm done here. Call the morgue."


9:15 AM

I check my watch as I sit at the small roadside diner sixty miles south of Gotham. Everytime we do this, we do it as far away from prying eyes as possible. A few times, we've even met in Metropolis.

"What is it that you can keep after giving it to someone else?" The man says as he slides into the booth across from me.

"Your word." I say to Tony Zucco without even looking up from my cup of coffee.

"How are ya, Eddie?"

"I'd be a lot better if I didn't have to deal with Jefferson Skeevers dead body."

"Sorry about that. But it had to be done. Jeff was running his mouth too goddamn much."

"How do we go about making this case go down?" I say as the waitress brings me a plate of bacon, eggs, and waffles.

Zucco waits for her to leave before he slides me a piece of paper.

"That's the address of Mark Gaffney. Small time drug dealer on the westside. He and Jeff had been beefing for about two months since Mark ****ed up a package and Jeff beat his ass. Even took Mark's gun. It's a .38 as I seem to recall. You'll find the gun, knife, and cord that strangled Jeff along with his fingerprints in the trunk of Mark's car." Zucco says as he stands up to leave.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Majestrate is the son of Majestros better known as Lord Majestros who is the warlord of their planet, Khera. Majestrate and his father along with three other Kherubim lords where heading to Earth for Majestrate to begin his trials to prove to his father that he has what it takes to be the next leader of the Kherubim people. On the way to Earth the ship was attacked by Daemonite’s. Daemonite’s are a race that have the ability to posses other species, this gives them a distinct advantage over most species. Their rise to power was unopposed until they encountered the Kherubim. Since the encountered a war has raged for millennia. Daemonite’s had got word that Lord Majestros was heading to Earth and figured this would be the best time to attack since he wouldn’t be heavily guarded. During the attack both the Daemonite’s ship and Lord Majestros ship crash landed on Earth. While exiting the ship Lord Majestros had handed his son a locating type devise and told him to fallow the signal. His son did so but not until he first witnessed his fathers death by the hands of one of there own Kherubim.

Majestrate got away and found the secret base located in Mt Rushmore. The base was filled with Kherubim technology but not enough he could use to make it home or even send out a signal for help. He had found evidence that his father has been to Earth many years ago dating back to almost a thousand years. It was only in the 1960’s that his father made himself really known to the world when he joined a special group under the superhero name Mr. Majestic. He became a well know hero for that period of time he was active. Not to much time after that he had vanished so the only explanation for that would be he came back to the planet Khera. While searching for more evidence of his father the computer came online. It was displaying information on the planet everything he would need to know to survive on his own.

Knowing that he will never be able to make it back to his own planet the only thing he can do is continue were his father left off and also prove to his dead father that he is truly entitled to the torn as warlord of Khera whenever he returns home.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Reason why is because he is the only and I mean only character I read and buy comics of in the wildstrom universe. I don't believe he got the lime light that he deserve. Another reason at first glance you would think he is a Superman rip off but he is much more than that. He may have Superman's powers but he has the fighting skills of Batman and the mind of Reed Richards. It’s pretty safe to say he pisses excellence.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Right from the jump it is obvious that I changed him if you know anything about the character. Instead of having the son die I have the father die instead. But I still use the fact that Majestros had been on Earth before. Instead of having him land thousands of years ago like the comic I have that he has visited those many years ago. So the crash in this universe is more recent. I will still keep the character's personality of him thinking that he is better than humans but Im going to push it a bit more. My goal is to make him one of those characters everyone loves to hate. I will keep him very true to the comics but with my own twist.

Majestic spent most of the day flying around the city saving what ever humans that needed rescuing. It seemed as if every time he thought that he would catch a break he would hear ear shattering sounds of cries for help with his excellent hearing. This same old song and dance began to get tiresome. So to release some of the stress that was beginning to build he stopped at a near by coffee shop.

As he walks in he sees all eyes on him. You would think that these people wasn’t used to seeing a superhero walk in and get a cup of coffee.

“Can I help you all?” he says in a aggravated tone.

Right away all the costumers went back to what they were doing before Majestic had entered. He felt a little better now noticing that he was no longer the center of attention. He walks up to the cash register and ask the employee for some coffee.

“Let me get a cup of coffee black, no sugar no cream. I want it strong.”

The cashier then rings it up while the other employee in the back starts to make his coffee.

His coffee was made in no time, the cashier placed it in front of him and said.

“That will be 2.39$ sir.”

Majestic then reach for his back pocket and comes to the realization that he has no back pockets in his costume.

“This is great. It will seem as if I don’t have any money.”

The lady cashier hands him his coffee anyways with a smile.

“It’s on the house.”

Majestic smiles back and take the coffee and heads outside to drink at the tables just in front of the shop. While taking sips of his lovely beverage an unexpected guest stands beside him.

“This seat taken?”

“Help yourself.” Majestic says as he raise his arm up to his face to take another taste of his coffee.

.Screen name: Mistress Gluon

.Character you wish to portray: Power Girl

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Villan (Walking the line when it's in her benefit)

.Powers and physical attributes: As a Kryptonian under a yellow sun, she gains standard Kryptonian powers of strength, durability, flight, freezing breath, heat beam eyes, xray eyes, telescopic vision, and super hearing. I'm pretty sure her physical attributes which stand out are obvious. :P

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Kara Zor-El comes from an alternate dimension where Krypton was never destroyed, and was a staunch militaristic empire which sent it's young across the universe, to conquer weaker worlds as a type of training. In her universe, the brothers Jor-El and Zor-El were competing conquerors of great pride who had staked a bet between their very infants (a common thing to do on this Krypton). The bet was set off as sending them in twin ships and landing on a far away primitive world, which had some opposition, and they would both try to conquer it (Both knowing one child WOULD kill the other). Whoever would conquer it would win a place on the Council of Krypton, inherited from their father. And so, they sent them off. However, Jor-El would turn out to be an underhanded cheat, as he had set an Eradicator after Kara's vessel, and surrounded it in a Kryptonite rock shell, slowing it immensely down. Little did Jor-El know, he saved his son, as Zor-El planned to artificially age his daughter so she could kill Kal-El as an infant. At any rate, it would take years longer before Kara landed on Earth, which was already conquered by Kal-El calling himself Superman. Enraged, the two immediately went into fight after fight, each ending generally in the failure of Kara, who had been renamed as Power Girl (Girl to emphasize her inferiority). In one such instance, Power Girl had aligned herself with that worlds Mister Terrific, a scientific genius who allied with other metahumans in hopes of overcoming this world's Superman, and believing in Power Girl as some form of savior. Unfortunately, Superman caught wind of it, and personally went to destroy the base, and engaging again with Power Girl. This time though, he wasn't as forgiving, and was tired of her game. In a last ditch effort, she utilized one of Mister Terrific's machines, a final device, meant to send them far away. Instead, Kara simply threw Mister Terrific to Superman, and escaped into the portal, swearing revenge and an army to topple Superman's empire. Where it led though, she would've never guessed it would have been... Somewhere similar to the Earth she left, but more...bright...more...similar, but different... Somewhere which had been untouched by the raving horde of the Kryptonian empire. Somewhere which she could claim.

.The burning question - Why this character?: PeeGee is my fave character from DC, so that's why. And... NAZIS!!! :cmad:

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Pretty sure making her a villan makes her slightly "Ultimate" =/ But if you need another reason, sure. She's... not the CEO of a computer company, or scientific development company. There. =/

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Bewbs. j/k A rough and tumble villan who isn't out to outsmart her opponents, who isn't going to break down and have some emo attack. Just someone looking to conquer through force.

"CRASH!!!!" A massive amount of dust and brick swirled 'round the gaping hole in the side of the old brick building Kara had found herself lodged in, the sound effect reverberating through the streets, the windows clattering some.

"Got ya this time, Power Buns," taunted a large, bald, muscular man with a moustache, dressed in leather pants, and leather jacked unzipped, revealing the words "Da Bomb" tattooed in Olde English on his chest with no shirt. "Ready to come home?"

The dust hadn't quite settled yet, but a grinding of brick, and footsteps revealed the reciever of the blow was just fine. And out Kara walked, her right hand brushing off her raised and curled left arm, her sapphire eyes inspecting the white on her garments.

"Ugh... I swear, I wash it, and then some freaking wackjob comes along to ruin it for me," Kara mutters under her breath. Then turns her eyes to Da Bomb, her face twisted in rage, "Come home? To some human like you?" her voice crackling in anger, her arms falling to her sides with fists balled into her hips, "I hope you enjoyed that feel you copped, because it's the last time you'll be touching ME!!!"

With the eruption of her voice, so did Kara spring into action. Like a blur, her entire body picked up into the air, with not a scent of grace, charging like a maddened bull. Her left arm curled in front of her in the charge, her right fist swung back and coiled too annihilate it's prey. And just as quickly, it was over. Kara unleashed her fury into the face of the deranged man, his bones cracking under her knuckles, teeth shooting out like flak, a great BOOM protruding from the impact, and his body sent flying through the next three buildings, and digging a trench along the ground. Kara simply hovered there, rubbing her fist. "Geez, it was like punching pudding," she smirked, and picked up in flight, continuing her survey of the land.

.Powers and physical attributes: Hal was privileged enough to be chosen to wield a green power ring, often referred to as the most powerful weapon in the known universe. Limited only by his willpower and imagination, it allows him to generate energy constructs as large, as complex, and as strong as he determines simply by imagining them and willing them into existence. Its only limitations are those which are imposed upon it by Oan law, as dictated by the Guardians of the Universe.

Without the ring, Hal is an experienced pilot and can more than handle himself in a brawl.

Henry 'Hal' Jordan's life was in shambles whenever he was chosen to be the next Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Born to a father that died when he was young and a mother that despised his bloodbourne addiction to thrills, it seemed no one was willing to accept Hal for who he was. Spending his entire life trying to gain acceptance from the people he loved, his ill-attempted results and their consequences turned him into a bitter young man. Which was why he was perfect for Carol Ferris, the hotheaded daughter of one of the world's top airmen - the two were kindred spirits lost in the world around them. Falling in love and soon marrying, Hal was just about to finally find stability in his life when Carol's father died. Taking it just as hard as she did, Hal soon found his marriage in jeopardy at the hands of an emotionally shutout Carol. Trying his best to reconcile, it was then that destiny had to come crashing on his doorstep - literally speaking. Hal Jordan had been drafted as the newest recruit for The Lantern Corps, a secret organization based beyond Earth and it's galaxy, dedicated to the protection and enforcement of all life. Having to make a difficult choice between his distraught wife and a higher calling that awaited him, Jordan chose the former and left Earth to train on Oa, the home of the Lanterns and their Guardians.

Three years later, and Hal is just now making the rank of field operative for the Green Lanterns. He has adopted an alien culture and strict regime as his new life, and taken to brawls with his fellow Corpsmen and a impassioned love affair with the alien Arisia. The scourge of the Corps for his hard edged attitude and reckless behavior, Hal Jordan now carries the responsibility of doing the hardest thing he's ever had to do: Returning to Earth, as the newly designated protector of Sector 2814. He is no longer the man he was - only now, has he learned to stop calling himself Hal Jordan, and start answering to the name of The Green Lantern.

.The burning question - Why this character?: With Blackest Night and two awesome ongoings, there's never been a better time to be a Green Lantern fan. Hal is one of my personal favourites (just edging out Kyle) and so it should be fun to show him kicking some ass in a grimmer, grittier way than in the comics.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: I want to show Hal in a different light - he's not a superhero, he's a supercop in charge of a whole sector. He doesn't fight injustice out of the good of his heart as much as it is his job. Add in an estranged wife, parental issues, and the fact that everyone he knew on Earth thinks he's been dead for the last three years, and you have a guy who knows how to take crap and dish it right back out.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A deeper look into the Corps.

Hal Jordan knew that Oan restrictions prohibited the green power ring he wielded from killing. If they didn't, it would be far too easy for a Lantern to devolve into a little more than a mass murderer, making it a necessary rule for the Guardians to impose. As he drove his fist into the monstrous creature before him and jammed an emerald energy spike out of his back, however, he wondered how the intolerance for killing applied in this particular situation.

The beast he was locked in combat with across the surface of the Moon was near invulnerable and had regeneration capabilities that closed the wound he had inflicted in a matter of seconds. It was mindless, viewed as nothing more than a pet on its Apokoliptian homeworld, but it was frustratingly hard to dispatch. The Guardians wouldn't want it to be left lingering around Earth, but they wouldn't allow it to be vaporised, either.

Which left Hal in something of a predicament.

"You really don't give up, do you?" he yelled, conjuring a baseball bat that swiped his opponent into a nearby crater. Another thought created a giant green bottlecap that fell into place over it.

GREEN LANTERN OF SECTOR 2814. CEASE CURRENT ACTIVITY AND MAKE WAY TO OA.

Hal frowned as the voice boomed in his head, projected by the ring. "Kinda in the middle of something here...what's goin' on?"

UNKNOWN ACTIVITY DETECTED IN SECTOR 666. RETURN TO OA IMMEDIATELY.

"Crap." Sector 666 - the slaughter of Ysmault. Forming a globe around the monster, Hal drew it back like a baseball and porpelled it forward, sending it hurtling into the stars. A shortcut, but a necessary one. Grimacing, he ordered his ring to plot the most direct route to Oa and rocketed away from Earth.

In case anyone was waiting on what I had to say about the Power Girl application, I'm all for it. :up::up:
Although, can I just ask that the alternate universe version of Superman be called Superiorman, instead of just another Superman. I liked the idea of an evil version of Clark called Superiorman from the last UDC game (even though we never got to reveal him), and there shouldn't be any reason why this new one can't make an appearance in this RPG somewhere down the road (akin to Ultraman in the DCU), so calling him something other than Superman right from the beginning would probably be the smart thing to do.

Although, can I just ask that the alternate universe version of Superman be called Superiorman, instead of just another Superman. I liked the idea of an evil version of Clark called Superiorman from the last UDC game (even though we never got to reveal him), and there shouldn't be any reason why this new one can't make an appearance in this RPG somewhere down the road (akin to Ultraman in the DCU), so calling him something other than Superman right from the beginning would probably be the smart thing to do.

I think Spike would like this better if the cape was connected to the S-shield. I remember him saying so when MB showed his first draft of Ult. Supes and the cape and shield weren't connected, so then he brought it up in the OOC thread and MB made the corrections.

Just the muscle shirt, utility belt, mask, combat boots, whatever you call those kind of pants, those fingerless gloves with the metal bits on the knuckles, and no venom tube. Also, if possible, could you use a slightly smaller template for his body? Yeah, Bane's a really big guy, but his size should still be within human boundaries. Maybe half-way between the size of the microhero that you made, and the size of the other micros. Although, if no template that size exists, and the choices are either the template that you used there or a regular-sized microhero template, we can just stick with the ginormous body that he's already got.

Well, you should at least know that he's not on venom in the game, so I dunno why you gave him the tube. Other than that, I'm not sure why you thought he would look any different than he usually does, let alone spend that much time trying to come up with a new look. In fact, didn't I imply (http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=17156020&postcount=162) (note both of the pics there) that his costume was pretty much the same as it is in the comics? :huh:

In trusty's defense, it's pretty easy to assume that you simply didn't have access to a design different than Bane's look in the DCU. I mean... he really hasn't changed it up at all since his debut.

Even if those pics weren't there, have I given a reason to think his costume looks different? ...As opposed to the fact that I did use those pictures, and never made any claims of Bane having a different appearance than what was illustrated. What you said could have been a possibility, but by looking at what's been posted, the odds were that he just had his regular costume.

It's ok, Spike. I'm just surprised that yet another design is going to be just like mainstream DC. Because in the OOC thread you didn't describe what to make him look like, I naturally assumed I could do my own design.

Though honestly I'm starting to not see the point in doing the MicroHeroes if all these characters in the ULTIMATE game just looks the same as regular DC. Takes the fun outta it for me. :/

Flash's costume is pretty much similar to the mainstream one except with opaque lenses in his mask where the mainstream Flash has eyeholes. Also, his build is closer to that of an actual runner. To me, Flash has always seemed too buff in the upperbody to be a believeable runner. Almost every succesful runner you see has a bird chest and toned legs. That's sort of what I invisioned.


And for Nygma. I guess just a lime green suit with a tie. None of the other Riddler stuff.
