I think preliminary photography starts immediately beginning in 2010 although I am not 100% sure. Release has already been set.

Following the time table for SM3, pre production for SM4 would start this fall, with filming starting early 2010.
They released the first pic of Flint Marko November 2005, which would equal to November 2009 for the SM4-villain, since both films start in May two years later.

Any news from Spider-Man 4 and 5, both in development?
It had been rumoured we were shooting two films back to back, but that's a myth. I'm working on Spider-Man 4 right now. We're in the middle of nutting out the story, but I'm not at liberty to talk about that. We start shooting in February, 2010. I've been busy out at the Columbia studio lot, talking to behind-the-scenes people -- artists, production designers, animators.

So I guess Raimi isn't planning to shoot Spider-Man 4 & 5 back to back because of WoW right?
Meaning he'll do SM4, WoW and then SM5?

Like filming special effect shots, like the Spider-Man/Doc Ock fight scene on the train they were filming in fall 2002?

So I guess that means no SM5. That's a good thing. I think this should be the last Raimi and Maguire outing. Make it count, but I have faith.

From all the interviews Raimi has done is anyone getting the feeling that he is working on 4 to give his series a proper send off.
He has admitted and sent his apologies for the mistakes of SM3 (rarely do directors do this). I really hope he can bring what he showed in SM2 and thats good storytelling with a lesser villains so he can streamline his focus on say one or two characters at most.
Like others have stated it seems after SM4 this might be the last of Raimis involvement in with the SM films so he can move on to set up Warcraft and its sequels.

I get that feeling too. He wants to end it on a high note. I wasn't very excited for this movie until Raimi started actually talking about it. He's gotten me stoked. He seems like he knows what went wrong and the comments he made about TDK and its impact in the comic film industry. The guy just seems like he gets it. I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I EXPECT Sm4 to be as good or better than Sm2.

I'm hoping SM 4 be better then all of the comic book movies. But not better then TDK, but close to it though.

I mean, Tobey was open to filming 4 and 5 back to back, so, I think he may be up to it. Sam? We'll have to wait and see. I'm not sure if he wants to do more.
