I knew something was up with that. They just used their "Oh, we developed first!" excuse to throw in B:AA elements into their game. For shame, Activision. That's pretty low.
Also, late 2099? :woot:

Hahaha. :P
I'm playing GTA IV right now because I don't feel like using my brain today.
I wonder if SM:SD will give the same feeling of "I'm bored but I don't want to have to press many buttons to have fun".
Mindless face beating is sometimes a good thing. Seems we'll get hours of fun out of the brutal Noir and Tentacle Spider--I mean Symbiote Spider-Man if we want that..

Yea thats something iv wondered as well. With past Spider-Man titles, namely Ultimate and Spider-Man 3, sometimes id like to just jump into the game and swing around, beat up a few thugs etc. But seeing as how this title will be more level driven, i wonder i will miss that any.

I'm just hoping this game is good. There's a lot of great voice talent there and it's a unique concept for a Spidey game, so I'd hate to see that potential go to waste.

I doubt we'd get new dimesions. That wouldn't be the same as say a Map in Batman:AA.Be much more costly.
I just watched the video of the Comic-Con panel. It really does seem like these guys have put their all into this(and they appear to know their history). I couldn't be more excited.
Forgetting that for a sec....How awesome was Stan??!?! I can't believe he is 89 and still going to do the panels and totally stealing the show! He really is sooooo funny and can totally poke fun at himself. And you gotta love the fact he gave Ditko and Romita a huge shout out(essentially he said they are responsible for most of what's great about Spidey, and the direction the stories went). Gotta love that guy, truly awesome.

The first bit of Dev Answers are up on Hero HQ.
My question is, will the voice actor for “amazing” universe have a more comical side to him, meaning, will the amazing spiderman say witty or funny remarks in this game?
user: spiderman1396
Answered by : Marie-Eve Tremblay, associate producer
I can answer with a big YES! I looked into my files, and I have 743 individual lines and grunts for Spider-Man Amazing (Wow!), he is constantly making fun of his opponents. For example, I really like this one at the beginning of the Kraven level when he says: “Wow. You’re awfully touchy for a guy who wears leopard print pants.” He’ll even make fun of you if you stay in place and do nothing.
That actually made me laugh, really hard. :P

What is the swinging system like?
user: WOLVERINE UNCAGED
Answered by : Alexandre Lessard, Lead programmer
Unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before! While we were inspired a lot by the swinging mechanics in Web of Shadows, we had to work a lot on the physics to make them better suited to the tight environments we have, keeping intact the same feeling of speed and liberty. We also gave Spider-Man a couple of new moves which you can use to easily navigate through the environment. For example, you will be able to effortlessly swing over an endless pit to land on a small perch point, then boost yourself with a perched jump to reach a point where you will be able to web-zip on a crawlable wall. We really focused on making navigation easy, fun and spectacular.
That sounds like the coolest move ever, to be honest.
Stan was funny, but it was kinda scary. he really is losing his mind and hearing. getting old...kinda creepy.
Mate, he is 89, its pretty amazing he is still getting around. His mind seemed pretty switched on but I think his hearing is kinda shot and that is gonna make him come off a little daft and elderly here and there. But I really like the way he quickly realises he is getting something wrong, and moving too slow, and he manages to turn it around and make a joke. He even turned calling 2099 1099 into a joke when the next thing he said was how he "always forgets that word....oh yeah ULTIMATE!" for the next universe.
My grandad recently passed away at 80 and towards the end you could barely have a normal conversation with him. I think the fact Stan is 89 and addressing a whole room(even owning the room) full of people is pretty damn awesome.

Yea i agree. One thing past Spidey titles just havent gotten right is his agility. Sure they have him jumping high and moving fast, but when it comes to things like that, being able to perch effortlessly on a small area will go along way to help show some of Spidey's agility. The most recent Spidey titles just didnt make you feel like Spidey, like Arkham made you feel like you were Batman. Hopefully this game can capture that.

I agree. I don't want a stiff feeling Spidey.
Spider-Man 3 reminds me of the agility that Spidey has in the movies...why can't we have one that feels like in the comics? =/ The PS3, 360, and PC can give us things like GTA IV but we can't get a guy who runs around in spider-motif'd silkscreen pajamas to move like he does in the comics? :/ REally?

I'm not disappointed. The final boss is definitely not what I was expecting, but it's interesting and I'll see where the story goes. It's not like Doc Ock teaming up with Carnage to unleash symbiotes across the city in the N64 game sounds like a cool story when you just hear that summary of it, but it was a fun ride. This game appears to be shaping up in a similar way. Besides, we don't know the whole story yet, so I would withhold judgment. I do like the sound of the other 3 bosses that were revealed with these achievements.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the bosses this game will have, especially if they really do a good job of having that boss be the focus of their respective level. If they pull that off, that will make them feel like real characters in the game instead of someone you get to the end of a level to fight. The problem with this game for the developers is now they don't have to fight against just including your favorite villain, but including a version of them in a dimension that you like as well. I'm more concerned with how they implement the story and gameplay than the actual villains.
I'm still cautious about this game, but I do plan to buy it when it comes out barring awful reviews. I like that it feels steeped in the comics more than any recent game (even Ultimate Spider-Man), but we'll see how they pull off the gameplay and technical issues. It doesn't feel like a Spider-Man game's production values will fully live up to the A-list titles as long as Activision keeps milking it the way they have and giving these games to unproven developers. At least they appear to be spending some good money to get these voice actors. We'll see.

It hasn't really altered my feelings on the game, as I've always been 50/50 on the SD ever since I saw the web hammers for Amazing, and then of course, seeing that they are using Ultimate as the fourth universe.
I would say though, that those leaked villains, at least two of them were predictable. And that's not spoiling anything, really.
But for people who want to be spoiled by reading this...PERHAPS Electro being in the Ultimate universe would make for an interesting boss battle seeing as how Spidey, in that universe, is wearing the black suit.

I can't really say. I don't really buy a lot of games these days anyways; I only have Assassin's Creed I and II, Batman: Arkham Asylum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Red Dead Redemption and Halo: ODST, so it's really up in the air. I might look over the reviews, rent it, and then make up my mind over the game. I'm not buying it right off the bat, that's for sure though, I never buy games as soon as they come out.
But, as for if the leaked villains changed my mind, I don't think that'll change my mind at all, as I was 'iffy' from the get-go. It really depends on the gameplay first off though, and then the storyline. Even though I wouldn't be a fan of certain villains, I can over-look that IF they make a sequel with the villains I would want. But, they have already stated a sequel might be in the works, so, that is a good thing.

She's one villain that I had predicted would show up in 2099, and it makes sense seeing as how Hobgoblin and Scorpion were both created, and a scientist would have been needed to have created those two, and I just had a feeling they would make Doc Ock the villain that'll get the sex change, so it made the most sense, but I, as a lot of people, wanted to see Otto Octavius. But, again, maybe that's for a sequel, or at least I hope so.
The Amazing villain is a predictable one, or at least I think so, and the Ultimate villain is one I did not expect.

I was gonna say the same things about Venom. Some Venom fanboys (if any read this) might wanna kill me for saying this, but I'm glad he's not in this game. I've been saying he was overused in the games for years. And I'm still a fan of him, mind you! :woot:
I was kinda expecting Ock to be the final villain for 2099, as it seemed he was the obvious choice for a villain that creates other villains. Wasn't expecting him to be a her. If it's an old Carolyn Trainer, her displaced in time because of the shattered tablet or something of the like, that would be cool.
I like how, for the most part, the villain choices were different. Hobgoblin, Hammerhead, Juggernaut, Kraven, Sandman, Goblin, and Ock are pretty underused compared to Venom when it comes to Spidey games. The last Spidey game the Hobgoblin was in was the GB version of Spider-Man in 2000.
And I'm a big Mysterio fan, so it's cool for me he's the main villain (and even if it happened in FoF, which I'd like to forget). Although, you could see it coming after the opening cinematic. I loved Dan Slott's Mysterio arc on ASM, and it's cool he gets to write him in this game as well.

Here are my thoughts:
First: I am EXTREMELY happy that Sandman is in the Amazing universe, and I am EVEN MORE happy that Mysterio is the final villain (I always wanted that since the cinematic). The possibilities are endless with those two. Not really excited with Electro in the Ultimate universe but at least I'd prefer him over Venom any day. And even though we only got a female Doc Ock in the 2099 universe, I think the bossfight will be cool and I'm not too disappointed with that. Overall, I'm very satisfied with those choices.
Though I just got a question: Who are the main bosses of each universe? I should know by now but I'm abit unsure after seeing that list.

I agree about Carolyn Trainer. Although I'd have much preferred to have the one and only Octavius, I do love Carolyn Trainer. She was one bad ass b*tch in the comics when she donned the tentacles. I'm looking forward to battling her. She's a cool villain.

I haven't read many comics of her (just one I think), so I don't know much about her character, but from a gameplay point of view she could be just as fun as regular Doc Ock even though I would prefer him obviously. I accept this "change" more since it's in a different dimension than Amazing, the same way I don't have any problem with The Goblin in Noir.

I just noticed that the Achievements page has been updated with unlocked icons, and it reveals the secret achievements. Caution, the secret achievements reveal the remaining bosses and the final boss:

* Sandman in Amazing
* Electro in Ultimate
* Female Doc Ock in 2099
* Mysterio as final boss
I'm a little dissapointed that female Ock is the Villian in 2099, but whatever. I'm still happy with the overall Villians we've got. It's going to be great fighting Sandman!

Accidentally spoiled myself about the female Doc Ock 2099 as the final boss. I'm not even mad that I accidentally found that out. :P I was checking to see if there was a Doc Ock in 2099 and stumbled across that.. first page on Google. :|
Anyway, I'm intrigued. I want to know how she'll play a role in the game and how her level is.
I have a theory on this:
In one of the trailers of the game, I remember seeing Spidey 2099 in some sort of space station. Wouldn't it be cool if Ock 2099's lair was in space? It could be a homage to Doc Ock's underwater base when he was the Master Planner.

This.
I want the next Spider-Man game be about Spidey defeating his greatest enemy, Norman Osborn. And have villains that are not in this game to be featured, as in Shocker, Rhino, Lizard, Chameleon, maybe even someone like Beetle, and even the Enforcers.
Make it a very "gang"-esque kind of game where Green Goblin has taken control over the gangs, and has sent out the above-average gang member such as Shocker or Rhino after Spidey, and then aside from the main storyline, have Spidey go after Lizard who has kidnapped his wife and child.
Green Goblin as main villain.
Side bosses - Beetle, Rhino, Shocker, Chameleon, Lizard, the Enforcers(maybe even Tombstone or Big Man?).

Yea deff. I think they need to make the story personal to Peter Parker/Spider-Man the way Arkham Asylum was to Batman, i mean the whole plot of Arkham Asylum was just the Joker trying to put Batman through hell. We need a Spider-Man game like that. Norman just really pushing Spidey to his absolute limits. I think that would make for a compelling game.
Now maybe this game will have that, but with the multiple dimensions and what not, i think thats going to be lost.

I spoiled the bosses for myself, it's not like Activision won't anyway. As long as I don't know the story (I didn't go to the Achievements page, just looked at cory's post here), I'm good.
Electro in Ultimate...I suppose the DS exclusive is that he's in his 616 get up instead of Max Dillon from Ultimate Spider-Man. That's a lame exclusive for them, really. =/ They have the same powers.
Sandman in Amazing...really? We had him in SM3, I wonder if Beenxo can do him better. Hopefully no super giant Sandman monster again.
Female Ock in 2099...I like this a LOT. I hope we have her in this outfit from 616.

Mysterio as the main? I. LOVE. IT. This reminds me of Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace for GBA (which is my favorite Spider-Man game of all time next to Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six for GBC). Sure he was the villain in FoF, but eh. The whole cast in that was for comic relief, not actual danger.

And I think that's why Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions won't be THE game for Spider-Man, and the 2000 game will still be better, imo, at least in that game the mastermind was Doc Ock.
Until we get a Spider-Man game dealing with a 616 Green Goblin, there won't be a Spidey game to match up with Arkham Asylum, and that's what we need: a Spider-Man video game dealing with stopping Green Goblin, and I think a great way to work that is to have GG taking over the gangs, while Osborn is taking over every single corporation by usage of OsCorp, so Green Goblin and Norman Osborn are pretty much ruling over everything and Spidey has to take down GG, which would of course take down Norman. GG then ordering B-level villains to go after him(as I said; Shocker, Rhino, Chameleon maybe, and Beetle...perhaps even Vulture, but more of the old man with a regular suit, not magnetic wings ala WoS) while someone like Tombstone or Big Man is sending out the Enforcers to do his work, which would be great angles for such a game. And maybe add in Lizard as a villain, but he soon becomes an ally, much as how Venom became an ally in the 2000 game. A nice side-story of redemption for Lizard, and Lizard doesn't need to work with Spidey, he can turn back to Connors and the doctor is the one that helps him out.
Just a thought though, lol. I think it would be a fantastic game.
And...the villains are okay after taking some time and thinking over the choices. I'm still not pumped over the final villain, but maybe I'll be surprised.
Electro being an Ultimate villain is way out of left field though since he's a villain in the DS version. But it might be challenging against the black-suited Spidey. Hopefully it makes up for the usage of Electro in WoS...and that also goes for Vulture.

While I honestly dont think this game will be quite as well done as Arkham(hard to top that), I do feel it will be much better than the ps1 game. I think you need to go back and replay it. It really wasnt perfect and the story didnt even follow the comics very well(not to mention the awful portrail of Venom). It was a great game for its time, but Ultimate Spider-man was a much better game and far closer to the comic books than practically any other Spidey videogame.
The concept for SD is great and it looks like it'll be so much fun to play. It might not be the Spidey game we were hoping for but we have known for months that it was gonna be split between 4 Dimensions and not a game about the 616 Spidey and 616 Goblin.

I actually don't disagree with this. Spider-Man was great, when it first released. It failed the test of time however, in just about every category, other than having some great classic villains.
From what we have seen, i think SD is gonana be a pretty fun title, but i dont think anyone will be confusing it with Arkham Asylum as one of the best super hero titles, and i think thats due to the story. It doesnt appear to be nearly as compelling as Arkhams, but who knows, we'll see.

I agree with both Pat and MACH.
I've played the PS1/N64/PC Spidey game again a few nights ago and really...it's not that fun as it used to be. The nostalgia of it makes it seem like it's the best Spider-Man game ever but if I stopped thinking about that, I can really start to see the problems like MACH mentioned.
I can even see how my own favorite Spidey games--Mysterio's Menace and Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six--are really kinda meh. Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six's plot is so awkward after playing it over again. Doc Ock decides to kill Spider-Man, so he sends the Six to kidnap Peter Parker to lure Spider-Man in. But they find Aunt May, kidnap her instead, and lure Peter in so they can lure in Spider-Man. Why not just wait until Peter comes back home?
Anyway, I think a lot of old Spider-Man based things aren't as good as they sounded when it was new (TAS comes to mind...). But while SM:SD won't be the B:AA of 2010, it could at LEAST be the break in the bad Spider-Man game curse like B:AA was for Batman's games.

A video game doesn't necessarily have to be close to the comics; a video game can have its own unique take on the characters and its storyline, and the PS1 and N64 game has just that, imo. Sure, the graphics weren't all that great, but ten years ago, that's what the games all looked like. The storyline was an interesting one, imo, and all the battles were fantastic(let alone the battles with Doc Ock and Mysterio, I greatly enjoyed fleeing the helicopters), and I personally enjoyed Venom in the game(time and time again, I always end up saying "Who is it?" as I was Venom, lol).
And, I'm not saying this game will be awful, because it will be far from awful, but it will also be far from the Spider-Man game that fans really deserve, which is a full-blown Spider-Man v Green Goblin game.

There's no doubt that Doc ock and Green Goblin are Spidey's arch enemies. But still, even if Mysterio may come off as goofy at times, he's still got ALOT of potential to be a "mastermind" of a plot, and be a very fun boss to battle. Even if Doc Ock and Green Goblin are in a division above him, that doesn't mean someone like Mysterio shouldn't get the chance too.
It's not like we got Scorpion or Rhino as the final boss.

I dont actually mean that the game has aged badly because of gameplay or look. It was still great for its time! I just mean that the dialogue and plot was pretty silly and no where near the classic Spidey experience you claim to want. It is kind of amusing that you start by saying a video game doesnt need to be close to the comics, then that we need a Spider-Man V Green Goblin game? I do think that would be cool but the fact you put need in, I mean really, its just an opinion. I'm not gonna argue with you though, end of the day we'll just have to agree to disagree for now. As I still feel the plot and style of SD seems way more classic right now than PS1 Spidey.

So far, only 2099 has 2 different costumes in-game. Amazing, Noir, and Ultimate only have one other costume.
There was talk of 3 different costumes, then the final being the optional Cosmic. Still not sure where people were hearing this at.
If anything, we'll see at least 3 other costumes to bring the total to 2 in-game costumes per dimension and 3 if you have Cosmic.

But hmmmm, regular red and blue Spidey for Ultimate?....and noir.....could it be the black suit?

Those are pretty boring extra costumes but then what else is there?

That would be awesome if there was a Spider-Ham alternate suit for every dimension. Amazing Spider-Ham, Spider-Ham 2099, Spider-Ham Noir, and Ultimate Spider-Ham.
Why are people so obsessed with Spider-Ham? Its a funny in-joke in the video...sure....but an actual playable character....really? Seems like a total waste of time.

It would be a fun optional costume, but I don't like the idea of making it a costume for all 4 dimensions, like Captain Universe.
And I found a better picture of the costume I was speaking off earlier. This would rock so much for Spider-Man Noir.

Playing as Spider-Ham reminds me of the cheat for playing as Spidey with a big head and big feet, or a stick body from the PS1 game. :hehe: I still think a Spider-Ham alternate for all of them would be neat, personally.

Meh...seriousness is way overrated and overdone these days. But two levels is fine, if only to fight against vile villains like the Green Gobler and Doctor Octopussycat. Maybe Sandmanatee would also be a good villain.
Besides, it would still be more creative than a symbiote dimension!

Overrated? Lol. I don't think so; I think video games can be fun, yes, but there are video games out there that deserve that serious tone, and if SD wants to be up there with Arkham Asylum, it needs to have a serious tone. We need comic-book adaptation video games to be serious as much as we need Halo, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, BioShock and Gears of War to be serious games.
And...you need spoiler tags on the last two villains you posted; not everyone knows about the leaked villains.

I'm probably just getting tired of all the "seriousness" and "grittyness" of video games and comic books. It's reaching the point when it will become a parody of itself in the future. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy games like Batman: Arkham Asylum and BioShock, but Spidey is not as serious as those, and I doubt one or two levels as Spider-Ham would wreck the quality of the game.
As for the villains, those are just some of the enemies of Spider-Ham from the comics, along with others like Eelectro, Pork Grind, Buzzard, etc. Not meant to be spoilers on the leaked villains.

Im looking forward to the game, i hope its really good, but at the same time, im hoping its a flop because i already know i don't want a Shattered Dimensions 2 and if this game does well thats exactly what Activision will give us. They'll say to themselves, look they really loved our game, give them more dimensions. I mean Noir is neat, so is 2099 and Ultimate has some cool things, but i just don't care about those universes as much as i do the classic Amazing universe. I dont care for Ultimate Green Goblin the way i do 616 Osborn, i dont care for Miguel O'Hara the way i do 616 Peter Parker. I want the next game to focus on a younger Peter Parker and his troubles as Spider-Man. I want the game to be personal to Spider-Man.
Still tho, looking forward to SD.

I see what you mean. Obviously it would be cool to have an Amazing Spider-Man game where you have levels that have some web-based combat, some with stealth, some base jumping stuff high up in the city and (if they really insist) a part with the symbiote(but you dont have it for the whole game, just a level or two). And with that a truly great and interesting story that involves the original Green Goblin.
Having said that, this is a big step in the right direction. The gameplay looks like(over the 4 dimensions) they have found what Spidey is about. And surely this is the stepping stone we need for them to realise that all of this, in one, with one art style, could be awesome.
And hey, this game still looks really fun and although it really is a gimmick, its still pretty cool to have 4 different art designs and stories all rolled into one.

Oh yea dont get me wrong, i think the dimensions all look really cool, but at the end of the day, i could take or leave Ultimate, take or leave 2099 and take or leave Noir. 616 is where its at. And im certain if this game does well, they are just going to keep rolling out multi dimension titles that fail to focus on Peter Parker.

I hope SM:SD doesn't flop. If it does, we may NOT get that 616 game everyone wants so badly.
Really, there's only so many failed games Marvel and Disney will take before they move to someone other publisher. That could be a mediocre publisher like Capcom, Ubisoft, or SEGA.
I just read all of the Noir comics (both Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without A Face) and I REALLY hope that Spidey Noir in the game doesn't make jokes. It's just not what he does. Not once did he make fun of his adversaries...he mostly just beat their faces in or tried to kill them.
Controls for Xbox 360 are confirmed, by the way (thanks to socool's link):

Y - Strong Attack
B - Grab
A - Jump

Arsey -
Disingenuous, petty and aggressive behaviour focusing personal criticism (or withholding praise) in order to cause pain /discomfort despite having no genuine concern about the specific issues addressed – the object being rather to aggress the person or people concerned for some other reason than those given, or to simply vent aggression the cause of which has nothing to do with them. Like previously mentioned, Scorpion 2099 is from the comics, and the Vulture already shows up in Noir, so no need to repeat. Not to mention Hobgoblin 2099 is basically a repaint of the already-existing Goblin 2099.

Well, we know that Mac Gargan's losing the symbiote and going back to being Scorpion in a few months. Brock's become Anti-Venom, which I thought was a great development for his character. That would be sweet, the Mysterio fight was one of my favs in that game. Loved the music, too.
I have no idea how the final boss level in this game will play out. Will we only get to play as 1 of the Spidey's? Swtiching off of all 4?

Well, we know that Mac Gargan's losing the symbiote and going back to being Scorpion in a few months. Brock's become Anti-Venom, which I thought was a great development for his character. Him becoming Venom again just wouldn't jive with all he's been through and his feelings on the symbiote. But like I said, I love the whole Anti-Venom thing. Agreed.

Yep. Plus, there might have been a chance to go for a whole season without Green Goblin or Venom which would have been nice, imo.

I don't even remember the music during that fight, lol. Man, I wish I could play that game right now though.
And I would guess you'd switch from one Spidey to the other. That, and I have an idea that you'd be playing as one Spider-Man in whatever area you're in during the finale battle and you have to grab one piece of the tablet, and as soon as each Spidey has a piece, then they'll be able to defeat Mysterio with the tablet once it's put back together.

Silvermane confirmed as an exclusive for 2099 on DS.
That's most likely the in-store back of the box for GameStop.
If I can get a chance to go to GameStop sometime before my finals this week, I'll snap a better photo.
So far, we know 3 of the 4 DS exclusive villains:
Electro (Amazing)
Calypso (Noir)
Silvermane (2099)
Since the Ultimate universe doesn't exist on the DS, the 4th villain will be in either Amazing, Noir, or 2099.

I love the formula that posters use to take a cheap shot at someone whilst still trying to have the moral high ground.
"Petty and cheap shot, nitpicking and undermining everything you just said with a self indulgent quote and an overwhelming impression of false superiority...
Anyway, BACK to the game..."
Classic.... Anyway, back to Spiderman.... wait a minute.

Looks like there are a few bugs with the camera.
With the changing gameplay styles, along with the shift in visual and audio style, this did play significantly different enough from one to the next to feel like four unique games in one. A couple of the modes seemed to lack the polish they may have received with a dedicated game in this build, however. More than once in the dark Noir world, the camera was so erratic in close-quarters that it made it impossible to do anything but run away and start over, even in the middle of a fight. Does that encourage you to use the stealth they intend? I suppose so, but only through what's clearly a glitch.
Still, the editor says that the game is definitely different than the last Spidey games and will catch you off guard if you're expecting free-roaming.
The linear nature of the game will take fans of the last several Spider-Man games off guard as well. Gone is the huge cityscape to explore, replaced by a set level with set destination points. Some of the sections are pretty large, allowing you to complete tasks in whatever order you'd like, but it's still not an actual open-world environment.
They also go on to say that it the game has a lot of potential and fans will enjoy it. They also mention there are actually minimal glitches.
Overall, this looks like a game with immense potential, and something that longtime Spidey fans will definitely enjoy. Each world "felt" right, just like it is represented in the comics. The dialogue, the way it is delivered by the all-star voice cast, and the visual and audio distinction helps establish each as its own universe, making the gameplay changes both welcomed and more natural. With minimal glitches and a comic-booky over-the-top story to propel it, this should be a great new chapter in the Spider-Man game empire.
Why is it that most modern games have bad camera issues? :P It's not just Spider-Man games, I've had an iffy camera show up in even games like B:AA, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, and GTA IV.

I can say that, as a owner of Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed, I haven't had one glitch when it came to Batman: AA, but I do have trouble with Assassin's Creed EVERY time I play that game. It feels like there's a glitch on every level. The problem was fixed with Assassin's Creed II though.

http://play.tm/interview/31340/beenox-talk-spider-man-shattered-dimensions/
Some nice tidbits from this article:
- There will be no power-ups, just upgrades.
In the Ultimate Spider-Man mode you can enter a Rage mode. Are there other buffs and power-ups that you can collect in the game?
You don't have power-ups, per say, but you unlock new moves over the course of the game. When you defeat enemies or when you collect what we call the Spider Emblems, you get Spider Essence, which is basically the currency of the game. So by collecting Spider Essence you get to buy upgrades to existing moves, to your health, to unlock new moves, and to unlock alternate skins for each Spidey.
-The alternate skins will be nods to other dimensions that Beenox wanted to use but decided not to.
Are some of those alternate skins going to be stuff from the far reaches of the Spider-Man universe?
Yeah, it's a nod to other dimensions that are out there that we considered using but did not, but there are also some really popular skins, so it's a mix of different Spideys.
-There will be guest appearances from other characters in the Marvel Universe.
Is there any chance of any appearances from other characters in the Marvel universe in Shattered Dimensions?
We do have some guest appearances, but unfortunately I can't talk about that right now.
-The game will take 10 to 12 hours in a simple no-challenge run. To complete the game to 100%, the game will take about 20 - 24 hours.
So roughly how long will the game take to complete?
Well, if you were not into completing all the challenges, I would say about 10 to 12 hours, probably. If you want to complete the game 100% then it's about twice that - around 20 hours.
-There are no plans for DLC right now.
Any plans for DLC at this stage?
Not at this time.

Got more for ya thanks to Marvel.com!
http://marvel.com/news/vgstories.13567.smsd_alternate_costumes_revealed
The backgrounds of the four known costumes revealed!
Costume: Cosmic Spider-Man
Dimension: All Dimensions
Story: A mysterious energy source known as the Uni-Power travels the universe in search of those most in need of its ultimate power--something Spider-Man knows all too well, having been chosen as a "Captain Universe" in the past. With the fate of reality itself in the balance, this persona has split itself through four dimensions, bonding with the Spider-Man of each. While this division has lessened its cosmic strength, the Uni-Power still offers a much welcome power boost to each hero.
First Appearance: MICRONAUTS #8 (1979)
*Please note that the Cosmic Spider-Man costumes are GameStop pre-order exclusives.*
Costume: Scarlet Spider
Dimension: Amazing
Story: For a time, there were two Amazing Spider-Men. The second, a clone of Peter Parker who named himself Ben Reilly (taking the first name of "his" uncle and the surname of Aunt May), assumed the guise of the Scarlet Spider, fighting alongside his "brother" until Peter decided to take a break from super heroics. Soon after, Ben assumed the role of Spider-Man himself, until his death at the hands of the Green Goblin.
First Appearance: WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #118 (1994)
Costume: Negative Zone Suit
Dimension: Noir
Story: When the Amazing Spider-Man attempted to free some innocent bystanders from a vortex leading to the Negative Zone, a hero named S.H.O.C. lent his Darkforce to Peter to help, altering his costume. And as far as Spider-Man Noir is concerned, its dark colors make for an excellent suit in which to sneak around.
First Apperance: SPIDER-MAN #90 (1998)
Costume: Mangaverse Spider-Man
Dimension: Ultimate
Story: In the Mangaverse dimension, a young Peter Parker boasts an expected assortment of spider powers, serving as a ninja in the Spider-Clan. After his sensei, Uncle Ben, was murdered by the evil Ronin Venom, Peter set out on a quest for vengeance. Though his dimension holds no Tablet pieces, it is every bit as threatened as all of the others, and he stands eager to assist should Ultimate Spider-Man need a breather.
First Appearance: SPIDER-MAN: LEGEND OF THE SPIDER-CLAN #1 (2002)
Costume: Iron Spider
Dimension: 2099
Story: Tony Stark created this technologically advanced costume for Peter Parker shortly before the Heroic Age's Civil War, but Peter parted with it after changing sides in the conflict. Somewhere along the way, Miguel O'Hara came across an Iron Spider costume of his own, possibly a relic once worn by a team known as the Scarlet Spiders that was trained by Taskmaster as part of the post-Civil War Initiative.
First Apperance: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #529 (2006)
Costume: Spider-Armor
Dimension: 2099
Story: Peter Parker wore the Spider-Armor only once during his long stint as the Amazing Spider-Man, but its design has stood the test of time and has only grown more popular over the years. The pseudo-metallic compound Peter created to defend himself against the high-caliber firearms of the New Enforcers is cheap and commonly available in 2099, making authentic reproductions of Spider-Armor a Halloween staple. Miguel O'Hara dug this one out of his closet.
First Apperance: WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #100 (1993)
While you'll unlock most of these alternate outfits by playing the game, you can get your hands on some of these suits sooner by pre-ordering "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" from different retailers such as Amazon, Kmart and Walmart! But remember, the Cosmic costumes are only available when you pre-order at GameStop.
It's interesting how they describe Cosmic Spidey. Apparently. Mangaverse isn't just a skin but a visitor to the Ultimate dimension in the explanation. A stretch? Yea, but it's a frickin' comic book game. :P You're allowed SOME stretches of believability.
Besides, it makes things more serious if you've gotta pull another Spider-Man into a whole other universe just to help you.
EDIT: Before people freak out, I know Marvel says those are ALL of the costumes, but they can't be.
Chris Baker from Marvel Studios confirmed that there's more than just what we've seen.
http://www.herohq.com/forums/viewthread/18775/P135/#846067
Every Universe is getting 2 alts, 3 with the cosmic
Hmmm... That's not how it is in the game I've been playing... :-) (Not sure I can tell you how many there will be, exactly...but you won't be disappointed that you're wrong.)
Chris Baker
Marvel Studios
Right now, it's:
Amazing: Scarlet Spider + Cosmic = 2
Noir: Negative + Cosmic = 2
2099: Iron Spider + Armored + Cosmic = 3
Ultimate: Mangaverse + Cosmic = 2
Marvel's gotta be off on this one. Why would 2099 get an extra costume, bringing it up to 3 but the others just get a total of 2?

Sure, Super-Joker is undoubtedly lame, but the game itself was good, as Monster Ock was undoubtedly lame, the game as a whole was amazing. Sure, the graphics suck now ten years later, and it was a quick game, but it has more than nostalgic factors, imo. It was a game that felt like the 90s series, it was one of the first superhero games that was worth the money to buy. And it was one in a few games that was amazing for N64.
And...I don't see how TSSM has beat TAS. TSSM didn't run for five seasons, so it's very hard to compare.

And TAS has more quality because they were able to show off Hobgoblin, Scorpion and even team-ups with the likes of Iron Man and Captain America.
Quality trumps quantity always, yes, but still....in my opinion, TAS has better quality. Not in the views of animation, but you have to look past at animation and look at the usage of the villains, heroes and overall plots throughout the five seasons.
Now, we probably could have gotten those villains and maybe those heroes in latter seasons of TSSM, but there could have been less Venom and more other villains. The first two seasons should have focused more on Green Goblin than any other villain. Two arcs for Venom wasn't necessary, imo.
I think Ryuuie has you on this one. Spider-Man on the PSx wasnt very good, when you look back on it. Pretty poor controls, poor camera, super short campaign. It really didnt stand the test of time the way some games have.
Your marking the game on things that was inevitable ten years ago. I'm basing the game on its superiority of a great superhero game for N64 and PS1 and basically the only ones for those consoles.
And the campaign wasn't as short as Assassin's Creed.
It didn't need to run 5 seasons to clearly show that the overall production quality was far superior.
Taken from newer accounts of storylines from the Ultimate line and partly from Raimi's films that couldn't have been used in the 90s. TAS used what they could have, and stripping them both down to its essence, I would choose TAS.

So none of those made you remember the series and made you think that this game was part of that universe? It didn't make you feel like a kid again hearing those familar voices?
I must've been the only one then I guess.
And, buddy...you said ten years....
Batman ended in 1998. It's been OVER ten years of hearing all three of them(Kevin, Mark and Arleen) in one scenerio.

We did hear those three in JL TAS before JLU started. when joker and harley guest stared. oh and joker showed up a few time in JLU too. So that kinda counts too. I guess it's just you that hasn't seen/ heared from them in that long.

oh, i misunderstood you. i thought you meant the game as a whole. the way you explained it makes more sense. in that sense, then yes, it is nostalgic.

Was it the same episode with all three?
I've never watched the JL shows, so I couldn't know this myself.

Yah, I was referring to the voices.
I couldn't see how the gameplay could be nostalgic, lol.

It looks like a fun game, and it probably will be and will probably be one of the best Spider-Man games, but it won't be Spider-Man's 'Arkham Asylum'.
If I had to guess, I would say better than the movie video games and Ultimate Spider-Man, but still not as good as the 2000 game.
Spider-Man 3 was the best Spider-Man game so far. And if not that one than Ultimate or SM2. Go back and play Spider-Man on the PSX, it sucks. I know you think it was awesome back when we were kids, but I'm telling you, it sucks. I still have it. It doesn't hold up well. THe only part of the entire game that holds up at all is the very end when you have to run from Monster Ock.
This game looks like it will be just a bit better than Friend or Foe.

I've never watched the JL shows, so I couldn't know this myself. there was an episode where lex gathered a villane team and joker crashed it and a few others. hmmm most of it is on youtube. They shouldn't be that hard to find any more. Just look them up. oh and batman beyound too. I know harley's voice showed up the the last movie that was done for that series.

The Spider-Man 3 game did a much better job with Venom, that's for sure.

And Arkham Asylum has nostalgia as much as it has great gameplay.
Do you even know what nostalgia is?

Neither have I. It was simply incredible with just 2 seasons, so imagine with 6 seasons.
You're bumming me out. Imagine if they did the death of Gwen. :(
This new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon has a lot to live up to.
